Es steht nirgendwo, dass die Scanfunktion noch in der Beta steckt und (jedenfalls bei mir) keinen einzigen Wein erkennt. Die Suche ist auch sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. Ohne die Scanfunktion ist man mit dem Buch besser dran. ### 2/5 — Still doesn't work properly *2017-02-03, version 1.2.3* This is at least the third update and it still won't filter on varietals. It makes it very difficult to use in a restaurant which is one of its most useful applications. Very hard to recommend until this is fixed. ### 2/5 — Meh *2016-11-13* Camera scanner doesn't work. Haven't been able to correctly pick up a wine using it...and its local SA wines. Bugs here and there causing crashes. Also too many missing tastings ito years. Vivino works much better, contains more information and doesn't cost 9.99. Was disappointed in 2012 but 5 years later, who knows. So there is no sample or trial period. You have paid and are dissatisfied again. Why is it so complicated to have all ratings of a wine maker. Example: Kleine Zalze Family Reserve 2012. 5 stars in 2016. Is not on the list anymore. Why not? So do you trust this app? Not really. Crashes often and regret that I didn't purchase a hard copy of their book. Also you’d have thought they’d have uploaded all wines by now. No such luck. You will need your username and password again to login. ### 5/5 — Essential guide to the Cape *2016-06-12* There is no substitute for Platter's, the only real guide to South African wine. No vineyard neglected, and nearly every wine, year and varietal visited. Any other wine guide barely scratches the surface. They seem to have made an interactive database very clunky. Having recently renewed my subscription (wow, that’s not cheap) the app has refused to acknowledge this - I have used my 5 free searches and can search no no more. I’ve logged on, logged off, uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted the phone, contacted support... all with no effect. Pleasingly I do have every copy of the book (back to 1999), so find myself using them instead of the app. ### 2/5 — Not user friendly *2019-08-25* You can’t see your Version number. ### 2/5 — Not enough *2017-12-15* I agree to other critics. Search function is complicated. Why not include a search field a for area (Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, etc.)? As it is now, you can really only use the location function and see what’s close. No planning though. Also, I‘d like to search for reds and whites instead of only for specific variety or red or white blends. I’m sure this could easily be improved. Would further be nice to have a map integrated or at least be able to jump to map directly. Not possible for all wineries. Related to what I said above.
