But, *2025-12-24* I love this game, but it does have its drawbacks. ex: it doesn’t save a persons life at all, if you close the tab, you have to start a new life. This is minor, but when it says “this person is famous/super famous” it would be cool to know what they are famous for. We've also noted your suggestion and will keep it in mind for future updates! ### 4/5 — Really enjoy this game. *2025-05-19* I came across this game while looking for a life simulator and got hooked pretty quickly. It’s exactly the kind of game I was hoping to find. The detail is 10/10. It’d be nice to have the option to age up manually instead of waiting on a timer and if the character avatars were a bit more realistic— although I do love the unique Art look at the same time. Overall, those are small and tweak-able things, so my honest rating would be 4 stars. But.. *2024-08-24* I really started to enjoy this game, but I feel like there needs to be more opportunities and ways for us to move out of the villages we live in especially in the free version, I unknowingly spent 10 years in Business Administration just to realize nothing has changed about my job, and they should add more jobs and maybe even we can become celebrities overall I enjoy the game just wish they treated the popular game with a bit more caution and more fun. **Developer response:** Hi supmeryan, we've added many more jobs in the latest update and we will add celebrities soon. I don't like how we can't stop are characters from doing suicide. Also I want by to be able to stop from getting broken up with. I wish there was marriage counseling in here so I do not get a divorce. All in all pretty good game just needs tiny bit of work. **Developer response:** Hi Pencil, play people commit suicide when they get too unhappy, which usually happens when they don't have enough fun or love, live in toxic environments, are burnt out from work or studying all the time, etc (just like in real life). Try to get out of bad situations and give your play people some time off or fun every now and then to cheer them up and they should stop committing suicide. To avoid getting broken up with, try going on more dates with the right partner. Hope that helps! Thanks for playing Play This Life! ### 3/5 — Lots of Potential *2024-05-13* I’ve been enjoying this game a lot. I like it’s art style and the portraits it gives characters. I love that your character can see their great grand children being born. And I like that the game is real, it’s very reminiscent of the early Realives games that emphasized how precious but also challenging life is, especially for those of us born into a position without resources. However, it needs work, a better tutorial and more transparency for the player. I have no idea what my play character is good at or how certain things (like school subjects, courses, and cars) affect them/their future. I don’t know how to make my partners not break up with me which makes marriage impossible, and I can’t go back to see what text I missed when the year ended. I also feel like the housing and job situation could be a little bit easier. I will likely still purchase the full version to support the developers but I don’t think it’s a full game yet and could use some more tweaking. Still, I’m glad this game has been made and I found it. I would like to see a bit more updates before I buy the game. For example, I had a character that was a virgin and somehow he died of AIDS. **Developer response:** Hi Hooman, thanks for playing Play This Life! The game uses real world odds to generate lifespans so it's possible you had a play family with a spate of bad luck. But don't worry, there's a good chance your future play families will live much longer! It is also actually possible for a virgin to contract HIV, unfortunately. Through positive mothers, needle sharing and contaminated blood transfusions. Sometimes, it does get hard to run from the randomness of life. ### 3/5 — Updates. *2023-02-24* In the next update can u allow a lot more and upgrade things? You can barley meet people, get married, have a child, etc. need more options to where we can live like move out of the us or Jamaica and stuff like tht. The game has ootential to be great but the road blocks dont allow you to prgress. Bitlife is better than this. For this game to be better they would beed to fix the progression aspects. We will keep your feedback in mind for future updates! ### 2/5 — Unnecessarily difficult. *2024-10-07* I hate that all the time you're born poor (i mean DIRT poor), and there's no way to change relationships with anyone. By age one iirc, the game assigns specific relationships and a lot of the time i end up hating everyone in my family by default. There is no way to change this. There is only 1 hang out option and it only works if you have a good relationship with the person and 99% of the time that is a laughable concept. Not enough time either- the first 18 years or so cannot be spent socializing or going out. Study, attend class, repeat. The minute you get into college your character is suddenly in a deep depression that cannot be wavered (huh! some of these are pretty accurate idk). Longest i survived was my early 30s and every single one of my deaths was due to suicide because everyone hated me and i was broke and homeless. The game gives you hints on characters liking you, you having crushes etc and the minute that is acted upon, my character suddenly hates their boyfriend/girlfriend. A lot of this needs to be fixed, aside from this it would be a nice game. **Developer response:** Hi genesisws, many of the things that help a person survive real life will work inside Play This Life. E.g. Having a good work-play balance, trying to date someone you are actually attracted to who is actually attracted to you too, having to spend money for maids and personal assistants to gain yourself more time, etc. And sometimes you just get a bad roll of dice that makes your life harder than everybody else's. That's life. Except in Play This Life, you get to try again. You have to have a job, or be in school to meet anyone, and you’re more thank likely going to be born into a family that is “dirt poor” so it’s not really a fun game.
