## What is PlayOff?

PlayOff allows you to start playing music on one device, like your iPhone, then continue without missing a beat on another, like your Mac. It finds the song playing (and its position) on your other devices and picks up where you left off. It's like Handoff, but for music!

PlayOff works with music synced to your iPhone from your Mac or PC and songs you've saved to your library from Apple Music.

Features:
- Continue playing a song you started playing on one of your devices.
- Continue the album from the song you handed off

PlayOff requires the Music app to be installed.

## Key features

- Continue playing songs across devices
- Resume album playback from current song
- Seamless music transfer
- Works with synced music and Apple Music library

### 5/5 — Somehow works for me

*2024-02-01*

Despite the bad reviews at first, this manages to fulfill my dreams of Apple Music being better than spotify

### 1/5 — Crashes on launch

*2023-05-09*

Crashes on launch on my iPhone 13 Pro, fully up to date app and iOS.

### 1/5 — I should have read the reviews…

*2023-01-24*

Unfortunately this only works with (downloaded) songs that are in the device’s library. Don’t buy this if you want to use it with Apple Music (streaming).

### 1/5 — Wish I could say it worked, but…

*2022-05-04, version 2.1.1*

…no dice. Installed on both my M1 Mac and iPhone 12 mini, and they’re paired, but…it just doesn’t work. Fails in a few different ways, but I can’t handoff Apple Music between my Mac and iPhone. 😕🤷🏼‍♂️

### 3/5 — No longer functional on iOS 15.3/Monterey 12.2

*2021-12-25, version 2.1.1*

I haven't used PlayOff in a few years but loved how much easier it made it to "handoff" music playing on my iPhone from Apple Music to my Mac since Apple hasn't yet added this functionality to Handoff/Continuity. It looks like the recent Apple Music App overhaul for Monterey 12.2 and/or iOS 15 update broke things sadly. :(

### 1/5 — Does not work at all

*2021-11-03, version 2.1.1*

This app does not work at all with iOS 15 and either MacOS Big Sur or Monterey. You can pair the other device, but no playlist information will sync. As is, this is worthless.

### 4/5 — Works well

*2021-08-19, version 2.1.1*

what would make it a five star app is the abiltiy to send and entire album/playlist between devices. If I'm listening to an album and send the current song to another device I don't want to have to pull the album to keep it playing after the current song ends.

### 1/5 — Need a refund - just does not work

*2021-07-01*

This app just does nothing between Macos Big Sur and IOS14.6.
This is a great idea but it just doesn’t work!

**Developer response:** Hi! I’m sorry to hear you’re having an issue with the app. Can you shoot me an email at martin@playoffmusic.app to let me know exactly what went wrong?

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2021-02-15, version 2.0.3*

Doesn’t work between iPhone and iPad running iOS 13 or between either of those devices and Mac running macOS 11.1.

### 1/5 — Only hands off song in library

*2020-11-28*

Not super useful - should’ve read the other review first.
