Open real sheet music, play it on your MIDI keyboard or the on-screen keys, and see every note marked right, early, late or missed as you play. Works with any USB or Bluetooth piano keyboard, and with no keyboard at all. Completely free. No subscription, no ads, no account, and nothing leaves your device. PRACTISE WITH REAL SCORES Open a built-in piece or import your own MusicXML and MIDI files. The score is engraved like a printed edition and scrolls as you play. Each note is marked as it happens, and a summary shows exactly which bars need work. Wait mode holds the music until you find the right key. Loop any passage by dragging across the bars, and let Take it up raise the tempo after every clean pass. Switch a hand off and the app plays it for you while it scores the other. A METRONOME BUILT FOR THE MUSIC STAND A tempo you can read from the bench, a ruler you drag, beat lamps that show the beat as it sounds. Time signatures from 2/4 to 12/8, subdivisions and swing, a tempo trainer, silent bars to test your own pulse, presets, and control from the lock screen. Inside a piece, the click follows the score's own meter. A GUIDED PATH Thirty-three short units across six chapters: posture, finding notes, five-finger position, chords, scales, reading, and your first real pieces. Getting started - Four short introduction pages on the first launch. No questions, skip whenever you like. - The path now opens with Find middle C and your first melody, so the first key press comes within a minute. Posture and finger numbers follow, on one card. - Played before? A link on the home screen skips the first steps. Every chapter still has its playing test. Coaching - Short tips the first time you meet something: Play, the settings panel, Listen, Practise mode, the metronome ruler, the trainer panes. Days you already practised are skipped. - The streak forgives one rest day a week and says so on the card. - Coaching tips can be switched off, or shown again, in About. ### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-03 A smoother score and clearer feedback while you play. Playing - The score now scrolls and animates smoothly during playback, dragging and selecting a passage. - A wrong note is now marked on the staff with the note you actually played, so you can see what you hit even with the on-screen keyboard hidden. - Early and late notes are shown differently: the notehead shifts in the direction you were out, so you know which way to correct. - Pausing shows every judgement from the pass you just played. Restarting clears them. Accessibility - The practice screen now respects Reduce Motion, and every verdict can be told apart without colour. ### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-30 A large accuracy and reliability update. Every feature in the app was reviewed end to end and the fixes below all come out of that pass. Playing and scoring - Notes are now judged from your keyboard's own timing rather than the screen refresh, so a fast passage played slightly behind the beat is no longer marked wrong. - Fixed hands-separate practice: the app now plays the hand you are not playing, and scores the hand you are. - Fixed wait mode missing the very note it was waiting for, which could cost you marks on a flawless run. - The last notes of a piece now count towards your score, and restarting starts a clean score. Learning - Corrected the note names shown in the chord and scale explorers. F major now reads B flat, and C minor reads E flat. - Chord exercises say when they want root position instead of silently expecting it. - Practice you missed now comes back on a proper review schedule, and the home screen shows how much is waiting. - The course no longer teaches black keys three units after asking you to play them, and it can no longer get stuck: any unit you cannot pass can be skipped and returned to. Your library - Search now finds accented titles: typing "fur" finds "Fur Elise". - Your scores and their practice history are now visible in the Files app, so you can back them up or move them to a new device. - Importing several files at once no longer stops at the first problem file. - Deleting a score asks first.
