Thank you for the honest review. You were right about the biggest thing: you told us you wanted healthy, high-protein meals, and the planner wasn't actually using those picks when it chose your dinners. We found that exact bug this week and fixed it. Meal selection now uses each recipe's real per-serving protein and carbs. The fix runs on our servers, so you don't even need to update the app. Generate a new week and it should look like what you asked for. On budget: we plan to the number you set, and when a week truly can't fit it, we say so right on the plan instead of quietly going over. Prices are estimates, so your store may ring up a little differently. And yes, we do use AI to help create our recipes and photos. We're a small, husband and wife team and that's honestly part of how we keep planning free. The scan fridge and pantry feature is remarkable! It knew I had certain products in my pantry I wasn’t even aware of! The recipes are super yummy and easy to follow. I like the swap recipe feature and how you can set preferences. I wanted a simple app for a good subscription price to make my life easier and this is it! You can save favorited recipes to swap suggested recipes. And you can add on additional meals throughout the week if plans change. I like I can set my budget for the week and it will suggest recipes with ingredients I have in the house already and use the most of the ingredients I buy, so there is less waste. ### 5/5 — If I could give this app 10 stars, I would. *2026-08-03* This app has helped me and my family save so much money, first of all the cost is very cheap compared to other apps. Second it is so organized, it stops the scramble. ### 5/5 — Grocery Shopping Wizard *2026-07-13* The best place to plan for weekly grocery shopping. Take control of your budget and easily track what you have on hand to minimize waste. Very helpful given rising food costs. Fantastic recipes and well thought out process to make the entire effort seamless and very efficient. ### 5/5 — Saves money, stops waste *2026-07-06* The app is brand new and doesn’t have the praise it deserves here. Such a great idea - the scan feature is amazing, keeps track of what we have, stops us from letting food expire, and stops us from overpaying for takeout. I can’t wait for the grocery delivery feature to go live so we can save time too. A must have for families of all sizes. ### 5/5 — Game changer *2026-07-06* This app has made such a difference for our family! Most features in apps similar to this are gated behind paywalls, but that is genuinely not the case for Plento Pasto. I was able to log onto a free account, generate a week of recipes and even swap out any I didn’t like. My kids have loved every recipe we tried (2 thumbs up!) and have asked for the recipes again. It has also helped to save us money at the grocery store and has cut down on a lot of our food waste.
