I’ve hunted through menus and been several minutes late to a couple live programs because there seems to be no way to start the live cast from in the app. I literally have to log into and open the PLI website in Safari on my iPhone, start the live cast there, and then it opens in the app, which defeats half the purpose of having an app. Also had one experience where the app repeatedly dropped connection/ stalled the livestream so I had to watch it on my phone in Safari browser which ran fine. Busy attorneys don’t have time to be going through all this hassle just to connect to a live cast. ### 1/5 — Too much data usage *2024-06-10, version 3.17* This app uses more data than any other app I have. Playing simple videos uses a ton of data and there is no setting to change the streaming quality. ### 1/5 — Worst app 😕 *2024-04-22* PLI abandoned its prior app - and it’s now easily the least usable app on my phone. Unintuitive, confusing screens, hard to navigate, formatting that won’t fit your mobile screen, jenky pause features, narrow window to file for CLE credit…it’s a constant frustration. It detracts greatly from the content (which now is mostly video; little to no audio only). Total bummer. The old app was perfectly fine. 😕 ### 1/5 — New update — virtual complete loss of functionality on patware *2024-04-20* Studying for the patent bar. Used to be able to do study questions from my phone. Now patware is completely unusable. Hoping for a bug fix because I liked studying in downtime. Videos work. ### 1/5 — Awful *2023-11-27, version 3.11* You need internet connectivity to begin (but not continue) watching DOWNLOADED content. Insane. ### 2/5 — So hard to use *2023-08-30* Confusing navigation, content is hard to find, and it’s hard to find and manage saved content. The player is buggy and restarts without saving your place. App signs you out without warning. PLI is a great resource, but this app needs a lot of revision. **Developer response:** Sorry to hear about your experience! If you continue to experience any issues with the app, please reach out to PLI Support at info@pli.edu. ### 1/5 — Constantly having to re sign-in and start video over *2023-07-29* I’m a power user of this app and use it almost every day on my commutes and in the past I would only need to “sign in” once every month or so and now it’s almost every time I use it. So if I use it for my morning commute I’ll need to sign in again for my evening commute. The worst part is that every single time it requires me to re sign in it will lose my spot in my the video and make me start from the beginning. It’s so frustrating that I almost want to stop using PLI app altogether until it’s fixed. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback, and sorry to hear the issues you are having with the app. We have notified our development team and they are investigating the issues. We will have these resolved as soon as possible. ### 2/5 — Great Content; Bad App *2023-05-10* PLI has fantastic content and the concept of being able to earn CLE credits from my phone is really appealing. However, the app does not work very well. It says it saves where you left off but it definitely does not. For instance, yesterday I finished a program and started a new one. Today, it takes me back to the middle of the program I finished yesterday. So do I now I have to rewatch everything in order flying get credits? It does this all the time. Super annoying. ### 1/5 — Train wreck of an app *2022-12-08, version 2.18* Repeated crashes, no ability to pause for any decent length of time (after a pause of any length the programs started over for me) and the app wholly failed to track a program I listened to. This is an embarrassing product in 2022. ### 1/5 — Needs work *2022-11-11* The app performs poorly. Playback of courses-the main function of this app—routinely freeze. The playback functions on the iOS Home Screen do not function at all. The app continuously cycles saying “synchronizing classes,” but sync doesn’t happen. Even the “provide feedback” feature in the app didn’t work when I tried to leave feedback. ### 1/5 — Courses stream but no credit issues *2021-12-29, version 2.18* Downloaded classes, viewed, recorded the course code for credit, submitted for credit, followed up when credit was pending - 1 month + later, no credit, no response to folllow-up inquiry and no credit issued timely for the reporting year. When I called for help, I was told they would put in another case with no timeline for response or resolution. ### 1/5 — Awful *2021-11-29, version 2.18* Terrible app. Constantly crashes and does not remember where you are on video when it does. Really poorly done. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2020-12-29, version 2.18* Awful app. Has now frozen in the middle of different programs 4 times just today. And each time I am unable to resume the program where it froze. It also freezes any time I attempt to load a program to view, requiring multiple restarts. Non-intuitive and unreliable. *2026-03-28, version 3.43* This is an immensely frustrating app. It feels like it was programmed by an aspiring high school science club after the teacher advisor quit. ### 1/5 — Simply broken *2026-02-21, version 3.42* I adore PLI, and it’s embarrassing that the App they use is a dysfunctional disaster. It is slow, non-intuitive, and constantly disappoints. I suggest everyone watching on their computer instead, which is unfortunate. ### 1/5 — Stop forcing apps on people *2025-09-29, version 3.36* Choices!! ### 1/5 — August update *2025-08-14, version 3.32* The latest update is glitchy. If you pause a program for a while and come back, the app does not open. I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall the app three times today. This may be the most glitchy app I have ever tried to use. ### 1/5 — Can’t complete courses in app *2025-07-14* I’m registered for a prep course. The app loads my license just fine, but to access any of the content - videos, practice questions, anything - it has to open a browser window. What’s the point of having an app if I have to use a browser window to access the content? I downloaded this in hopes of having a smoother mobile experience that I could use in transit. **Developer response:** Hi Sydney, we appreciate your taking the time to leave feedback. A limited number of our interactive programs are produced in advanced formats with features best accessed on the browser. We now mark all programs that require browser viewing to prevent more confusion and frustration. There are thousands of programs downloadable for offline viewing within the mobile app, so if you encounter any other issues, please email mobile-team@pli.edu. ### 1/5 — unable to launch this media *2025-05-16, version 3.30* wednesday the app worked fine. as of thursday trying to watch any program just gives the error ‘unable to launch this media’. this is across multiple devices, multiple programs, and after all restarts and reinstalls. something’s borked. ### 1/5 — Terrible app *2025-03-22* Despite all the negative reviews I took a stab at this, wish I hadn’t bothered. Incredibly clunky, lots of the options don’t work (eg none of the filters worked, kept giving me error messages), and 2 of the 3 programs that I tried to listen to said “program unavailable” when I tried to do them. I go around and around in circles after selecting an on-demand program to watch. Makes me log in repeatedly, boots me out when I hit play and makes me search for the program all over again. Incredibly frustrating. Much improved search tools and the video player experience was overhauled as well.
