Is the beach water good today? And the water from your tap? Plouf Check! answers both. Free, with no account, no advertising, no tracker. 1. BEACH WATER - 2,097 beaches on the French coast, those of the official health monitoring. - Two readings: the regional health agency's rating, and a score recalculated using the method of Eau & Rivières de Bretagne, stricter on one-off pollution. - Plouf Check score: a score out of 100 you grasp at a glance, with its calculation window shown. - Full history, season by season, sample by sample. - Sharing: your beach's water quality as an image. 2. TAP WATER (NEW) - All 34,969 French towns. - The unit is the distribution network, not the town: it is the network that feeds your tap, and two neighbourhoods of the same town can drink two different waters. The app names the network each verdict comes from. - What is measured: bacteria, nitrates, pesticides and their metabolites, PFAS (the 20 regulated ones and the 4 most concerning), vinyl chloride, perchlorate, free chlorine, limescale. - Two rates rather than a score: quality limits, and quality references. No invented score — these are the health monitoring's own. - What "compliant" does not say: substances found below their threshold are named, with their value and that threshold. - Five years of records per town, month by month. Downloaded once, readable afterwards with no network. - Search by name or postcode, map of the towns, geolocation. 3. TIDES, EVERYWHERE ON THE COAST - The tide everywhere along the shore, not only in the major ports, thanks to Ifremer's high-resolution data. - 100% offline: the computation runs on your device, with our own engine. Even in airplane mode. - Tide coefficient (Channel-Atlantic coast), rate of water level change in m/h, water and air temperatures. ON THE WRIST, ON THE SCREEN, BY VOICE These three cover the beaches; tap water is consulted in the app. - Apple Watch: water height, today's tides, the week and water quality, computed on the watch — no network, even far from the iPhone. Four watch face complications. - Widgets on the Home Screen and the Lock Screen, with the bathing score. - Siri and Spotlight: "Hey Siri, the next tide in Plouf Check". Ten shortcuts, answered offline. - Tide alert thirty minutes before each high tide, off by default. - Bright Sun theme, to stay readable on the foreshore. - Seven languages: French, English, Spanish, German, Italian, Chinese, Russian. WHAT THERE IS NOT - No account, no advertising, no in-app purchase, no advertising tracker, no data broker. - Your location never leaves your device: it sorts beaches by distance and places you on the map, then it is forgotten. - Anonymous usage statistics go to a server owned by the developer, hosted in France: which screens are opened, which settings change. Never the name of a beach or a town, never your position. Switched off in one gesture. - Free, and it stays free. Tide predictions cover the astronomical tide alone and do not include the weather. The app is not an official nautical document. Tap water analyses are past official records, published about two months late, and cover the distribution network: they do not describe the state of the water at your tap right now.
