## What is PloverWatch?

I volunteer as a Piping Plover Monitor in Southern Maine as a (very small) part of coastal bird conservation efforts. These endangered birds migrate north in early summer and nest along beaches in the Atlantic Northeast. Volunteers monitor their progress from nesting, to brooding, to fledging over the summer before they head back south for the winter.

I made this very simple app to help record information and generate reports for my volunteer sessions ("beach walks") which I am sharing in case other volunteers find it useful. You can record plover sightings as well as general information about beach conditions that day (temperature, visibility, tide), interactions with the public, and attach images. When complete, just tap 'finish' and the app will automatically generate an organized email with the information to send to your volunteer coordinator. It can also attach a .csv file if you want to import the data into other software. It works best if you have the Mail app configured on your phone.

Please note that I am a volunteer hobbyist - not a professional developer! No information you enter into the app is collected by me or anyone else. All of the data stays on your phone or is sent via email to the address(es) you specify. If you have any feedback or suggestions for improving the app I'd love to hear from you.
