GROUPS INSIDE GROUPS A group can hold other groups now, so Front line can sit inside Protectors without either one losing its own list. A MESSAGE BOARD Leave a message for whoever fronts next. A post can be for one person, for several, or for everybody, and each person marks their own as read rather than clearing it for the rest of you. VOICE MESSAGES Record one in chat or on the board when typing is not what you have. They stay on your device, and you set how long they are kept. ONLY THE FIELDS THAT APPLY Custom fields no longer sit on everybody's edit form whether they fit or not. Each field decides: on everyone, or only on the people you add it to. Every field you already have stays as it was. BRINGING YOUR SYSTEM IN, AND TAKING IT OUT Import an Octocon export, and choose what happens when someone in the file is already here rather than getting a second copy of them. Imports reuse a custom field you already have instead of making a duplicate with the same name. And there is an export now: a file in Simply Plural's shape, which is what other plural apps read, so leaving is something you can actually do. BACKUPS THAT ARE ACTUALLY COMPLETE Avatars and banners travel inside the backup file, and so do your settings: theme, wording, tab order, accessibility. This device's own setup, like a sync folder or an app lock, stays behind. PICTURES IN DESCRIPTIONS A picture in someone's description is saved the first time you look at it, so it opens instantly afterwards, works offline, and the site hosting it is not asked again. ALSO Open the app on whichever tab you like. A headcount on your members list. Text boxes grow with the text in them instead of scrolling inside themselves. Tap somebody in a group and their page opens where you are, on the tab you were already on, with Back going where you came from. Text keeps its contrast over a bold gradient instead of picking one shade and hoping. Crash reports you can paste. A setting for how much the interface explains itself. ### 2.2 (73) — 2026-08-26 Message board: a note can go to several people now, or to everyone. A message for everyone no longer needs someone picked. Choosing people uses the same searchable list as the rest of the app, and read is tracked per person, so one of you opening a note no longer clears it for everybody else. Groups can sit inside other groups. Set a parent on the group's form, or use Add beside Subgroups. Settings is now a hub rather than one long screen. ### 2.1 (63) — 2026-08-22 A CALENDAR FOR PLANS There is a calendar tab now (swipe up on the tab tray if you don't see it, then drag it wherever you want). A month, and the plans on whichever day you tap. It has the part no other calendar has: a plan can say who should be fronting for it. Pick any number of alters or custom fronts. It plans, it doesn't do, so nobody is moved to the front and no front is ended. Plans can be timed or all day, carry notes, and remind you beforehand, from "at the time" up to two days ahead. SHARE WHO'S FRONTING A new button on the Front tab opens the normal share sheet with a card of who is out. It works into Messages, Signal, WhatsApp, Discord, anywhere. The card only ever names alters you have switched on under Settings, Your system, Front sharing. Pronouns and front duration are optional and start off. In Messages there is a Plurality app behind the + button. Every conversation starts locked: the first time you open it in a thread it asks who that conversation may see, and nothing sends until you answer. That choice applies to that one thread. FRONT ROLES A front can be marked primary, co-fronting or co-conscious. No label stays the default and nothing already recorded changes. The Front screen sorts primary first, a screen reader says the role out loud, and Insights takes a declared co-front at its word instead of guessing from overlap. A JOURNAL A new tab for what happened on a given day, either one alter's or the whole system's. The day view puts the writing next to who was fronting through that day, which is why it is a screen and not another list of notes. Browse day by day, or jump to a day that has entries. A NUDGE WHEN NOBODY MARKS A SWITCH Off by default. While any front is live, Plurality can remind you at an interval you choose, so history, Insights and the fronting card are not left describing someone who stopped being out hours ago. PRIVACY BUCKETS FROM THE ROW Press and hold almost anything you have made (alter, group, chat, poll, journal entry, plan, note, custom front) and "Visible to..." opens the bucket picker on the spot. Chats and polls can be tagged at all for the first time. THEMES, WHEN YOU ASK FOR THEM An alter's theme is applied by hand now, from a long press or a button on their page, instead of the app repainting itself every time someone comes or goes. Custom colors get a contrast floor too, so text the app derives from your palette can't come out invisible on its own card. It is a floor, not a repaint: a color that reads is left exactly as you picked it, and you can switch the whole thing off under Appearance, Theme. ALSO How long a chat is kept, and the switch for keeping it forever, are now on the channel row and the thread header instead of buried in the channel form. Appearance and Sync settings are one row per setting rather than three. Groups, notes and polls offer edit and delete on a long press. Tab titles are centered. VoiceOver no longer announces swipe buttons that aren't there, and narrates reorder drags. ### 2.0 (58) — 2026-08-20 SETTINGS, REBUILT Thirteen sections became six: Appearance, Accessibility, Privacy, Your system, Your data, About. The whole list fits on one screen, and a section opens into sub-sections rather than dumping everything at once. Privacy is its own section now, instead of "hide details on lock screen" living somewhere called App lock. Nothing was removed and nothing was reset, and every setting is searchable if you cannot find where it went. PRIVACY BUCKETS A bucket is a named set of people. Tag something with a bucket and only those people see it while they are fronting. Works on alters, groups, custom fronts, journal entries and board posts. Importing from Simply Plural brings your buckets across, including the tags already on your content. SIRI AND SHORTCUTS Off by default, behind a disclaimer that says exactly what gets handed to iOS. Ask who is fronting and get an answer out loud, or start and end a front by voice. PROXY TAGS IN CHAT Set a prefix or suffix on an alter, then type it in the composer to speak as them. The composer shows who the tag matched before you send, and it applies to that one message only, so a typo cannot quietly re-attribute everything after it. CHANNELS CAN FOLLOW WHO IS FRONTING Optional and off by default. With it on, the chat tab lists only the channels the current fronter takes part in. Co-fronting shows the union rather than the overlap, and a channel with nobody set on it always stays visible, so the tab can never come up empty. EVERY TEXT FIELD IS A REAL EDITOR Body fields got a formatting toolbar and a preview. Enter continues a list, and Enter on an empty bullet ends it. They are taller too, because people were writing paragraphs into a box built for a sentence. NEW COLOR PICKERS The wheel is gone everywhere at once. Hue is its own slider with saturation and brightness above it, so dark and muted colors get as much room as vivid ones. The drag no longer dies partway through inside a scrolling screen. FIXES Swiping between tabs no longer opens whatever it swiped across. Custom field titles sit above their values, so a paragraph gets the full width of the card. ### 1.9 (49) — 2026-08-18 Every screen now says "alters" instead of "members", to match the tab renamed last update. Searching for "members" still finds it. For those that do not like this change I am adding functionality to let you control this in the very near future. Fixed: typing a color code by hand and tapping Done used to discard it, unless you pressed Enter on the keyboard first. Your code is now kept whichever way you leave the color wheel, including the back gesture. The theme colors in Settings had the same bug and are fixed too.
