The problem is the developer prompting the user to write a review every 5 minutes. **Developer response:** It will stop asking after you dismiss the review message three times (without quitting the app in between) - or immediately after you write a review. I’m a single developer so positive reviewers really help me out. If you like the app, an updated review would be appreciated in light of the information I provided 🤩 ### 2/5 — Car playback issues *2025-05-06* It doesn’t work well with car bluetooth connection. Hopefully it’s all working now ☺️ ### 5/5 — Perfection for vocal practice! *2023-08-01* As a professional vocal coach, I am often in need of the ability to change the key of a song on-the-fly to suit a student’s vocal type. For complicated, fast melodies (think: vocal riffs/runs), it can help to slow down a section of a song and study exactly what notes are being sung. That is where Pocket Jam comes in. I can simply load an MP3, change the key, and slow down the tempo with the app. It even allows me to loop the part of the song to practice, and export the song in the key and with the tempo that I need. It even includes a practice mode that will slowly increase the loop speed to challenge you to improve. Best of all, Pocket Jam works incredibly fast. I have used many key-changing apps on the App Store, and this is by FAR the best app out there for this purpose. It really is no-nonsense, and does exactly what it says on the tin. Additionally, the developer was extremely responsive to my questions when I addressed him directly regarding ways the app the could improve. If key-changing or tempo-changing is what you need, just buy this app. It is well worth it. The only caveat with the app is that it does not support Apple Music or any other streaming service. But, of course, this makes full sense as those tracks are typically copywritten. That said, it is easy enough to make an MP3 of a track and load it into Pocket Jam. **Developer response:** Thank you for your review! The app promises Apple Music song import, but in reality this feature simply doesn’t work. The add in description of this app says "works with Apple Music". When I tried to transpose it, even though it is downloaded on my iPhone, it told me the app cannot transpose songs from Apple Music. I tried the app support link to ask about this, but it takes me to X and I don't have (or want) an account on X. I wish I could get my money back, as it doesn't do the one thing I need it to do!!! **Developer response:** Sorry the app hasn’t worked out for you. I do my best to be very explicit about this limitation - the screenshots do say (in a very large font) pitch changes do not work with Apple Music. If you tap the help menu (the question mark in the circle), then ‘contact developer’ menu from the app, it’ll give you my email address, I can help you find a solution that will work for you! ### 1/5 — Pitch control is only in half-steps *2024-11-18* Not continuously variable pitch shift, so this is not an appropriate practice aid for orchestral instruments. This program allows me to easily pitch shift so my performance matchs the recordings. And being able to slow down the tempo and loop sections for learning and practice is invaluable. **Developer response:** It can also access your files, and Dropbox should work too. When you add music, choose ‘Files’. Click the ‘Browse’ tab at the bottom twice to take you to a page with ‘Locations’. If you don’t already see Dropbox listed, click the three dots in the top right hand corner, ‘Edit’, and enable Dropbox. I took a chance on this app after reading the reviews and it's perfect! To add songs simply select "add song" and point the program at your itunes directory. Plays both MP3's and songs purchased on the iTunes store (M4a). What I did notice is that the "add song" icon seems unusable (goes grey) after adding your first batch. Stays grey unless you clear your songs queued. It's likely user error. A simple work-around to this is to simply drop and drag songs you want to add from iTunes to the app window. Other than that this app seems to do exactly what I want (slows songs down while keeping pitch, and changes pitch while keeping tempo). 5 stars! **Developer response:** ❤️ thanks for the review!
