### 1/5 — 数値は信憑性がない

*2022-08-17*

どの範囲の光を測定しているのかはっきり言わず、ルーメン数値が理不尽。それと、色温度と明るさをそれぞれ別のアプリで測らせるのは可笑しいです。

**Developer response:** Hey, we are sorry that this happened. Please reach out to us at 29satnam@gmail.com, and figure out what caused this issue and its solution.
Thank you,
Satnam S.

### 1/5 — Totally wrong

*2022-05-24*

完全不准

**Developer response:** Hey, thanks for your review. It would be much easier for us if you would write to us and let us know what problem you are facing.

### 1/5 — The readings were random

*2022-04-21*

The foot candle readings were random, inaccurate and non-repeatable. In a fairly dark interior room the readings were around 100 foot candles. In a bright exterior room the readings were identical, about 95 foot candles, In a moderately lit office area, the readings were also about the same.
I don’t think this app did anything except generate random numbers with a lot of pseudo-technical jargon thrown in.
Waste of money.

**Developer response:** This is very unexpected, would you please contact us at 29satnam@gmail.com, so we can work together and figure it out?
The app is accurate and works exactly the way you would expect, we’ve done several tests with the latest update too.
Thank you,

### 1/5 — Useless

*2022-02-24*

I pointed my camera to my carpet and I gave a higher rating than my 10,000 lm flashlight. Nice try but epic fail

**Developer response:** Hey, the app uses camera to analyse light and iPhone doesn’t poses a light sensor.
So, the app isn’t sufficient for all use cases, but it does give you a rough and close to accurate estimate of the light intensity.
Thank you,
Satnam S.

### 2/5 — Cannot use front camera…

*2022-02-22, version 4.0*

Please add in next version.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2021-12-06*

It will give the same reading if inside or outside. The only time the meter varies like it's working. Is when I'm in a dark room and then move to a well lit room.

**Developer response:** Hey Sam,
This is very unexpected, would you please contact us at 29satnam@gmail.com, so we can work together and figure it out?

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2021-08-30*

I can hold my phone on top of a table in a restaurant under a bright light and it is the same brightness as when I hold my phone under the table in the shadows and dark

**Developer response:** Hey there! Thanks for your review.
That’s very unusual, would you mind telling me what device do you use?
I’m sure we can figure this out. Please reach out to me at 29satnam@gmail.com.
Thank you.

Edit 1: It's been a while now and the user haven't tried to make any contact.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — The app does not perform its functions.

*2026-02-24, version 4.0*

First: it’s unclear where the data comes from — whether it’s calculated from the entire image or taken from a specific point.

After testing, I realized it uses data from the whole image. But here’s the issue: the app reads the data only after the camera processes the image and adjusts the exposure. As a result, it always shows roughly the same values.

The app should read the data before any image processing in order to provide at least somewhat accurate information.

When you quickly bring a flashlight close to the camera, the app shows 1500–2000 lux. Then the camera adapts to the brightness, and the readings drop back to around 900–1000.

As a brightness meter, it does not work. Do not buy it.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-08-11*

Doesn’t work on 12 pro max. No screen or camera protectors on either.

### 1/5 — Não funciona corretamente no iphone15pro

*2025-03-12*

### 1/5 — It’s a toy

*2024-12-06*

It does not change when the lighting changes

### 1/5 — Horribly False Readings

*2024-03-03*

Apparently the Lux in My bedroom at night looking at a light bulb is the same as looking at he sun!!! And generally it always hovers around 1000 but moves in the right direction when the light changes, but it in no way reflects any real measurement at all. Fraudulent claims of the developer

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2024-01-02*

I bought the combined package of Lux Meter and Kelvin meter. The Lux Meter unfortunately is not working. No matter how bright is the light max it displays about 900-1000 lumen. I even deleted and reloaded but still no improvement. The Kevin meter seems to be ok.

### 1/5 — Gotta be better apps out there

*2023-07-10*

I never really saw any value to this app. It didn’t seem to matter whether the reading was on top of the table in direct view of the light source or under the table almost completely blocked from the light source, the readings were identical. I provided feedback to the developer about a year ago or so and haven’t heard any suggestions as to what the problem might be. I apologize for the 1 rating, zero was not available.

### 1/5 — does not work

*2023-06-10*

infinitely reading lux.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t actually measure lux

*2022-10-19*

Lux and lumen are not the same thing. The app will say ‘reading lux’ but not actually read it. The app advertises lux as well as lumens and is therefore false advertising. I’d like a reimbursement.

**Developer response:** Hey, the confusion between Lux and Lumen has been made aware to us before and we are releasing a fix very soon.

We just ask our users to ping us at our email 29satnam@gmail.com and discuss whatever they have in their mind before leaving such review.
To get a refund, please download Apple Support app and head to refund section.

Sorry to see you go, we will try to do better and release the required fixes soon.

Thank you,

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Loving it!

*2023-11-01*

I have been using this app for a few weeks to gauge levels of lighting and I have to say it does a great job. My next task is to compare the results against a calibrated light meter to see how close this is.

I have the the impression it is going to be fairly accurate. I like the companion app that tells me the temperature of light as well. Very handy for video and photography to match color.

### 5/5 — ok

*2022-01-17*

ok

**Developer response:** Hey Farzad, thanks for your review. We are glad you like it.

### 5/5 — The only Lux meter app that works

*2021-12-20*

It’s a awesome app! I use it to set light for my photography sessions. It’s the only app that actually works and it’s accurate. Get it now.

**Developer response:** Hey, thanks for your review. We are glad you like it.

### 5/5 — Awesome app!

*2021-09-25, version 2.0*

### 5/5 — Simple and straightforward

### 5/5 — Does the job very well!

**Developer response:** We are so glad you like it. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Gets the job done

**Developer response:** We are so glad you like it. Thank you.

### 4/5 — Good app But I have to...

*2025-07-04, version 4.0*

Hi Dev,

I have to comment here as I like this app i just purchased. UI is smooth.

And Yet, I saw a comment here saying front camera is needed and you said that’s absurd. Hence why I am writing comment here:
I also think front camera is super crucial, here's why.

My work environment has different lighting settings, some are directly on my head, so front camera can come to rescue. I hope you might see the needs of users, sometimes its hard to comprehend user's perspective (Ik cuz I’m a dev myself too)
Hope my review gives you insight.

Anyway, it's a good app. I so hope you can combine your bundle into one app. Say its "Lux Meter Pro"😂

Thanks from HK user

### 2/5 — Wrong readings

*2022-08-11*

It doesn’t seem to disable the device’s camera automatic exposure feature before analyzing the lux values. The result is that everything (from a black board to a light panel) ends up reading about the same lux value — which is obviously wrong.
It doesn’t offer the option to disable auto exposure manually either.

**Developer response:** Hey tiagocheregati, the iPhone itself doesn’t offer access to its ambient light sensor. Don’t expect accurate readings, expect close to accurate and if you use it right, that means not exposing the camera directly towards the light but surface.

And I don’t think it’s right for you to go into technical details, since the app doesn’t use the ambient light sensor.

Thank you,
Satnam S.
