### 3/5 — Measurements

*2025-03-02, version 6.0*

Is there a way to switch from liters to gallons?

### 4/5 — Great app, but iCloud synchronization is a must

*2024-11-01*

The app is really beautiful and well-designed! The photos are stunning, and the species view is nice and well-organized, even though it currently covers only a few species. One feature I would love to see is iCloud synchronization, which would make it easier to manage data across devices. A French version would also be appreciated for French-speaking users. Overall, it's a fantastic app with great potential for even more content in the future!

### 4/5 — App limitations

*2024-09-21*

So far so good, nicely designed , feels a good quality interface. The one issue I’ve found is although you can spec a very large tank in terms of dimensions, you can’t in volume, it maxes out at 500lt even though the dimensions allow for much larger volume. Would be a nice addition if the app used your dimensions to calculate your volume (in liters or gallons) with the option to override , as sumps are never full to the very brim.

Keep up the good work.

### 3/5 — Decent

*2024-08-05*

I genuinely like this app and the information that is provided within. However, there are an absurd amount of spelling mistakes. To me, that is just a little unprofessional and tacky, and sometimes I question the validity of the information given, due to the spelling mistakes. But overall, is a good app, I’ll continue to use it.

**Developer response:** Hi Avcaras - Appreciate it you taking the time to leave a review.

I can completed understand the frustration with the spelling mistakes. This day and age there aren’t any excuses for it. I am actively correcting this every single day and hope that very, very soon this will all be cleared up. As a sole developer of the app, it’s just a simple oversight on my behalf when inputting the data without thoroughly checking on top. All information provided has been taken from multiple trusted sources and re-written for an easier, quick glance take on the details and spelling mistakes have unfortunately gone in noticed from my side.

Hopefully you stick with us and within the next few days/week see a complete spelling overhaul!

Much appreciated.

### 3/5 — Water Parameters seem off

*2024-07-14, version 6.0*

The app looks good, but see some issues and not quite sure how to address.

1. If you enter a temp reading of 78.2°F, the indicator is Red, you you enter 25.6°C, the indicator is Green. Using any value of F does not change the indicator to Green. Using the the converted value of C to F does not work.

2. What values are used to indicate Red vs Green? This is not published anywhere on the app.

3. If ammonia levels of .25ppm is considered safe, why is my level of .04 showing up with a Red indicator?

### 4/5 — Aquarium menu force clos

*2024-04-21, version 5.4.2*

Aquarium menu make apps force close on latest ios, try to resintall and now all my test and all my tank information has gone, its possible to restore?

### 4/5 — Help..

*2024-03-24, version 5.4.2*

Can't open aquariums feature after iOS update... please fix it

### 4/5 — Fantastic app with some minor issues

*2023-04-24*

First of all, I just want to say this is the best app I have found for tracking parameters as well as keeping information on all of my tanks. One of the biggest issues I found with other apps is that they only let you have one or maybe two aquariums able to be stored or if you have more they make you pay. As we aquarists know we typically have at least two, probably more tanks, so this app caters to us.

The first issue I have with this app is probably something they could fix and it’s the default parameters that appear when you go to log them. Only nine parameters are showing at any one time and if you want to see other ones, you need to change which ones appear. It’s unfortunate that ammonia and nitrite are set to default to appear since most people don’t commonly check them. Every time I want to check/see my phosphate levels I need to go under the visibility filter and swap out either the ammonia or nitrite and then select phosphate in its place. Kind of annoying because it’s something I have to do multiple times a week. If they let us change the default parameters, this issue would be solved.

The only other minor complaint I have is under the databank of fish and corals sometimes they don’t have what I’m looking for. They just need to have an update where they include more fish, coral, and invertebrates.

Overall, the app is pretty fantastic and worth the minor charge for it. I never pay for apps, but this is one that I am glad I purchased.

### 3/5 — Loved app until 4 months of test results deleted

*2023-04-05, version 5.4.2*

I have been loving this app since I’ve had it over 6 months. Just today, the app got rid of 4 months of test results for no reason. What is the point if glitches and deletes all of my saved tests and resets the default ranges.

### 4/5 — Beautiful App

*2023-02-24*

I actually love this app and the look is so much more modern and friendly than other alternatives. I just wish so badly I could share and access the data across multiple devices. When I test the tank I want my boyfriend to see results on his phone and when he tests I want those records too. I don’t know why but this is something all of the best thank management apps seem to be missing. I mean, it’s 2023 people… love the app though.

### 5/5 — Great app. Used for over a year

*2023-01-15*

Ideal for reef aquarium hobbyists. The testing diary is really the only feature I use but it’s great at what I need it for.

I would only have one big request from the developer - let us set the default previewed parameters so it’s the same every time. I never test ammonia and nitrite and temp is handle by my controller. I want to make the default NO3, PO4, dKH, and second row Calc, mag, pH.

### 5/5 — Worth it!

*2022-10-04, version 5.4.2*

Really great app to help log, monitor, create a critters diary, and several other parameters of your saltwater system all in one place!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2024-12-19, version 6.0*

Doesn’t save any of my testing days. I am currently cycling and can’t compare my days. 😡

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2024-04-15, version 5.4.2*

Installed then tried to setup an aquarium. After saving aquarium info tried to click on aquariums to view and app crashes and closes. Tried uninstalling app and reinstalled but same thing. Useless app I paid for.

### 1/5 — Unable to safe a aquarium

*2024-04-14, version 5.4.2*

I’m allowed to input all information for new aquarium but when I go to safe it app shuts down and no aquarium saved. So unable to add livestock or test results.

### 1/5 — Español

*2023-04-29, version 5.4.2*

Favor en español

### 1/5 — Poor

*2023-01-14, version 5.4.2*

You can’t transfer data to a new phone which makes this app useless

### 1/5 — Fantastic App

*2015-06-10, version 1.0*

What a great App for running a Marine fish tank. Easy to use and looks great. I hope a tropical version of this App is created as I run one of these too.

### 2/5 — Does not live up to hype

*2024-12-31, version 6.0*

I was expecting so much more, compatibility of specific species of fish and inverts, recommended tank sizes, dosing recommendations. This is simply a tracking tool with limited encyclopedia of livestock. A paid app should offer more than, “Not much is known…”

### 2/5 — Pointless

*2024-11-08*

I purchase this app thinking it would be a nicer UI vs AquaticLog which I’ve been using since I set my tank up. So I had my iPad out trying to enter the info from AquaticLog to Pocket Marine. Phone died so I went to use my iPad thinking it would just sync like AquaticLog and well let’s be honest almost ALL Apple apps thus the reason it has such an amazing following. So needless to say when I went into the app on my iPad there was nothing there. None of the info I had spent the last hour or so entering was in the Pocket Marine iPad app. So what exactly is the point of having it on both?

### 2/5 — App crashes when trying to set up an aquarium

*2024-04-23*

I’m new to this app. I’m looking for something to help guide my water testing and maintain a record of results. App seems to be a good tool for this, and appears to have many useful features. Unfortunately, it crashes when I attempt to set up a new aquarium. As long as you track testing for only one aquarium, the crash does not affect the apps usefulness.

### 2/5 — Avoid. Numerous bugs & usability issues.

*2022-04-25*

Wow, really surprised a paid app that is so highly reviewed and has been around for many years is filed with so many bugs.

I’ve used the app for a few hours and was left very frustrated.

e.g. when trying to edit the targets / range of temps for viewing the trend graphs, and selecting say 75 degrees Fahrenheit for the low, it picks a random degree Celsius and then crashes. If you scroll the never ending list of values to finally reach 35ppt that starts at 11, it crashes. This is reproducible. Come on! It’s like no one actually uses this app or tested its UX. I can’t be the first app user who switches values from C to F or gets annoyed with an endless scroll for 5-10 seconds just to select 35, 34.9, or 35.1 ppt, every time. This app takes much longer than an spreadsheet or even paper and pencil. Lots of room for improvement; avoid for now.

**Developer response:** Hi ClimbrJohn,

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fantastic app

*2024-10-29*

Great app, best that I’ve found. Easy to use and fantastic data base. Would benefit from more specific reef tank species being added, and more specific data, but still worth the money.

### 5/5 — Not bad

*2024-10-05*

It doesn’t appear as though you can change to imperial units? I can’t find a way to contact a developer. This would be a massive help to us goofs in the US lol.

Edit: I’m an idiot. Thanks for the help!!

**Developer response:** Hi Taz1458 - there is a switch along the top of the page inside every species list that lets you swap between imperial and metric. Whichever way you have the switch selected on will store indefinitely across the entire app so you don’t have to swap back and forth.

We are more than happy to go over this if you still cannot find this. Please contact us on info@pocketmarine.co.uk if necessary.

Much appreciated.

### 5/5 — Fantastic App

*2024-04-26*

This is one of the best apps I have ever used and I used a lot. Congrats to the development team. I’ve just updated the app and not seen the changes yet as I’m were g this as I update it. I hope it includes being able to move inhabitants up and down the list as this is the only thing it hasn’t beeen able to do. Apart from that, truly brilliant app.

### 5/5 — Great App but..

*2024-04-08*

The app is amazing and full of great things but it’s missing the most important thing which to export data or at least being able to create an account to store all the data of tests, that way if you get a new phone you can import all your data, for now if you get a new phone you loose all your data which makes it useless.

I really hope that this could be fixed ASAP!

### 5/5 — Review

*2024-04-07, version 5.4.2*

Loves this app!!! Please keep it updated!!

### 5/5 — Great Tool

*2024-01-08*

Wish there was a way to share data between devices. Other than that it is a great tool to keep track of measurements and tasks.

### 5/5 — Suggestion

*2023-12-21, version 5.4.2*

-Add grid view feature
-Add more species
-Water quality warn and advice

### 5/5 — This is the best!!!

Honestly I don’t have anything Major to complain about. The only thing I can say is it automatically assumes that you have a sump.
