### 3/5 — Pocket Prep CDR RD Exam

*2026-08-06, version 3.28.1*

I really like the app and the way you can see your stats. Few things I wanted to point out, half the time I start a new quiz (like ex if it suggests to start a quick 10 quiz), it doesn’t start at question 1, sometimes it starts at question 3 or some random number and I have to go back to figure out which ones I haven’t done yet. Also, sometimes when I click the correct answer, it thinks I clicked something else because there’s a red X on another answer that I didn’t click and the green on the one I did click. Usually it should only be green if I clicked the correct answer. It would also be helpful if the app showed the # days till exam day on the study session of the app since it’s like the main page instead of just the stats part. Lastly, I think it would be nice if the app clarified if the stats of #/# answered correctly is of the ones in general that you clicked the first time and that’s all, or if you get it wrong the first time but the question is repeated and you answer correctly the second time whether it changes the score to count as a correct question or not for the #/# answered correctly. Really helpful app though!

### 4/5 — Yay! I passed!

*2026-04-23, version 3.24.6*

I loved the app for it’s automatic review and great sources for the quiz questions. It helped me see where I was weak and strong with comprehension. I passed the Mblex on my first try!

### 2/5 — CDR question quality is declining

*2026-03-31, version 3.25.0*

Recently, I’ve come across more and more questions that are outright dumb. Don’t get me wrong, I like this app a lot. But some of the questions I’ve been coming across recently seem like they’re just there to fill space without actually helping you learn what’s important. For example, more questions are starting to focus on some random minuscule, irrelevant detail that will almost certainly not be on the exam. Then they combine that with poor wording, slap a reference at the bottom and pass it off as ‘critical thinking’. Either the content team aren’t all dietitians, aren’t all competent, or are occasionally focused on quantity rather than quality. That being said, I don’t regret my subscription purchase at all. 85% of the questions I see are appropriate, and the ones that aren’t I just sorta ignore. The convenience and features are also something I really like. As well as the user-friendly UI. One feature this app really needs is a button to ‘report’ the question to the developers with a text box allowing you to explain why. It’s almost as if their recent questions are created using a terrible Ai model. I want to be prepared for my test, not questioned on the smallest fact that I 100% won’t be tested on. Another note is that the app gets significantly slower the more they try to update it. The UI as well as the content. And it’s unusable without internet connection now. I hope they don’t end up ruining the app, but if so I’m sure another will pop up in its place.

### 4/5 — Requires a paid subscription

*2025-10-31, version 3.24.1*

It’s not super clear without downloading that it’s a paid subscription - if you’re thinking of downloading prices are:
$15.99 for 1 mo
$39.99 for 3 mo
$95.99 for 12 mo
I don’t know if they’re all the same, I looked at NPTE for PTA.

If I were closer to actually taking the exam I’d consider paying.

4 stars because I don’t want to lower their score without trying it, but it always bugs me when subscription fees aren’t clear before you download.

### 5/5 — Easy way to study and pass

*2025-09-19*

Was skeptical esp when it came to subscribing- but this study app has been really worth it, re-enforcing the study questions with in-app references and source material help you retain info and learn from your mistakes easily. Its introduces a good mix of different level questions that without seeing them here first, i would not have known what to do on test day. I highly recommend this app! Thanks for helping me pass the PTCB :)

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2025-09-13, version 3.23.4*

Was my main study tool, passed first try. Can’t recommend it enough! These questions were actually a bit harder than the exam, which was also nice

### 5/5 — Passed the RD exam on my 1st attempt!!!

*2025-07-12, version 3.22.3*

What makes Pocket Prep unique is that each question includes a detailed description of why the correct answer is correct and why the others are wrong. The questions are very similar to the RD exam which helped me develop critical thinking skills. Only $16.99/month with 1500 questions and 3 mock exams ?? This app has saved me SO much money (I only needed it for a little over 2 months). In comparison, a lot of study courses are 100’s of dollars. Also, the questions were kind of fun (much more fun than reading and highlighting notes). I was able to do questions from anywhere— at home, at work, while walking my dog. I used some other study tools, too, but this app was definitely the most helpful. 10/10 highly recommend 👌

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2025-07-03, version 3.22.2*

5 Stars – A Must-Have for PTA Students and Grads!
I’ve been using this app for years, and it’s been one of the best tools throughout my PTA journey. I purchased the full version early on and have never been charged anything extra—just one payment for a lifetime of value!

The recent updates are incredible! The addition of diagnosis explanations and rationales has taken the learning experience to a whole new level. These updates show how much thought and care went into improving the app, and I truly appreciate the work being done behind the scenes.

I honestly have nothing negative to say. To the creators and everyone continuing to enhance this app—thank you! You’re making a real difference for so many of us working toward our PTA goals.

### 5/5 — NPTE Prep

*2025-05-21, version 3.21.1*

Wonderful app to use when preparing for the NPTE. Just a question a day helps you make a bit of progress studying each day!

### 5/5 — So educational

*2025-05-07, version 3.21.1*

This I believe was a huge help in helping me pass my exam and really gave me so much knowledge it’s crazy. I definitely recommend this app to all

### 5/5 — Dr. Brooker

*2025-05-07, version 3.21.1*

I used this app to help me study for the NPTE which I would not have passed if I didn’t have it. It provides such an amazing amount of questions with rationale behind each answer. I have recommended it to all future cohorts at my program as a great study tool

### 5/5 — RD

*2025-04-26, version 3.21.1*

Super helpful! It was perfect for on the go study or just when I needed to switch study methods up.

### 5/5 — CPC

*2025-04-01, version 3.20.0*

Love doing my questions of the day, this really helps to motivate me. My subscription of 750 questions I love doing all of these for real. Not forgetting the questions of 10, 29, 50 and 100. Pass guarantees as per Pocket Prep I have to keep practicing for real.

### 5/5 — great!

*2024-12-19, version 3.19.1*

This app helped me out SO much for my mblex exam.. Along with a tutor, this app game me so much clarity on things i THOUGHT i understood but broke it down so i can relearn the science of it, I passed! Thank you!!

### 5/5 — Essential for studying

*2024-12-11, version 3.19.0*

The explanations are so helpful! Highly recommend, well worth it!!!

### 5/5 — Passed on 1st Attempt

*2024-12-08, version 3.19.0*

My go to for CPC certification exam study, perfect for on the go when you want to maximize your study time and have optimal results. I recommend this to several students and chapters for AAPC CPC exam prep. I passed on my first attempt, this in addition to completing my coding coursework.

### 5/5 — Helpful for PTCB PTCE

*2024-10-16, version 3.16.0*

Studied with this app for 2 months and was able to get enough knowledge to pass my PTCB exam. Helpful, concise, and works.

### 5/5 — Great tool to use when studying!

*2024-08-17, version 3.14.2*

Thankyou for this wonderful app!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — This will just hurt your studying

*2025-02-16, version 3.19.3*

There have been multiple questions that are wrong or that use the wrong wording. I’ll even see that a question uses a resource from a book that I own, just to look up the page number and see the question is incorrect. I’m assuming these are AI generated questions since there are incorrect sources.

### 1/5 — Used to be amazing.

*2024-12-10, version 3.19.0*

I’ve been using this my entire three months in my CNA class and now out of no where almost everything has to be paid for and $15/month at that!! Now even trying to use what little bit of free content they’re offering for it, it won’t let me submit any answers or quiz. What an awful experience and my state test is just a few days away and now my method of studying is gone. I had my entire class using this and even our instructor telling the other classes about it, needless to say we are all upset. Removing this app and going to quizlett.

### 1/5 — The question wouldn’t come up for days

*2024-03-24, version 3.12.1*

Question wouldn’t come up for days

### 1/5 — Not recommended

*2024-03-04, version 3.11.1*

I don’t recommend it because there is no refund

### 1/5 — Nothing on the PTCB test

*2023-10-29, version 3.9.3*

They must have changed the test because 90% of the stuff that was on the test was not in the study material. They should refund your subscription if you fail the test because there is almost nothing helpful here.

### 1/5 — NPTE-PTA

*2022-06-26, version 3.4.2*

Too many inaccurate “correct” answers with subpar rationales. Horrible resource. I highly recommend PTA365 instead.

### 1/5 — Wrong answers

*2022-03-17, version 3.2.0*

Some answers are blatantly wrong. On one 10 question quiz, I had one question ask what temperature would an inventory tech leave medication that is labeled “keep cool” with the answer being “do not exceed 8 degrees Celsius.” This is fine. However, on the same quest just a few questions later, the question asks what temperature would an inventory tech keep medication labeled “keep cool” with the answer being “between 8 and 15 degrees Celsius”. This answer completely contradicts the prior one that says it cannot exceed 8 degrees. Find a different app to study from.

### 1/5 — Incorrect information

*2021-07-25, version 2.2.0*

This app used to have good questions to jog your memory. They weren’t difficult but were good for basic review. Recently, they added many questions that are just odd or horribly wrong. There are questions that have two correct answers, explanations that don’t match the selected answer and answers that are completely wrong. I used to like this app and now fee as though it is detrimental to studying for the NPTE. AVOID THIS APP!

### 1/5 — NPTE exam review is AWFUL!

*2021-04-07, version 2.1.2*

Rationale and question presentation are absolutely trash. Complete waste of money. Use TherapyEd, Scorebuilders, or Final Frontier. The developers need to step up there game and hire physical therapist who write for the board to help immensely.

### 1/5 — You better have a fat wallet

*2020-11-20, version 1.8.2*

I wanted to test out the app before I paid for the full version, as sometimes I find that apps are just set up weirdly and I want to find a different version that fits better (explanations, study questions vs tests, etc) and yet when I clicked on the free version to give it a try, it said “time to upgrade to premium. You’ve used all the questions you get with the free version” WHEN I HAD DOWNLOADED THE APP LESS THAN A MINUTE BEFORE AND HADN’T ANSWERED A SINGLE QUESTION. And every option had a lock on it. You get ZERO questions in the free version. No option works. So you better be ready to pay a minimum of 20$ just to find out if it’s worth it or not. If I could give it a zero star, I would. Not worth it at all. Find another app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Loved Pocket Prep!

*2026-08-01, version 3.28.0*

Used pocket prep to study for the RD exam and loved it! I paid for the 3 month subscription and felt it was definitely worth it and passed my exam on the 1st try! I used pocket prep in addition to another study method. Definitely recommend!

### 5/5 — Passed CDR exam

*2026-07-19, version 3.28.0*

I passed first try! The questions are extremely similar to what is actually on the exam. The explanations and vocabulary is very beneficial for learning, and there are multiple modes to choose from. You get a lot of value for a relatively inexpensive study tool.

### 5/5 — Easy way to study and pass

*2026-07-14, version 3.27.2*

Ngl this and some yt videos (shoutout nurse Amanda and ninjanerd) got me through the ptcb test only after like 2 or so months. I always recommend to others when they ask me how i passed with a high score first try

### 5/5 — Incredibly helpful

*2026-06-12, version 3.27.0*

There are a couple questions with grammatical errors, but other than that, Pocket prep has almost single-handedly facilitated me passing the VTNE on my first attempt! The Pocket prep questions prepared me for the VTNE questions well—I finished the exam within 1 hour.

### 5/5 — Helpful in Passing RD exam

*2026-05-22, version 3.26.0*

The questions were harder than the actual exam, which made it better for me in the long run when it came to passing. I loved the practice exams and how many questions there were.
