### 2/5 — Don’t rely on this alone

*2026-05-13, version 3.26.0*

Did not pass, read over 600 rationales for questions and spent over 12 hours studying for two months. The content tended to be too specific on things the CNOR exam considered relevant. It felt like trick questions a lot of the time without any kind of materials to study up on before taking quizzes. Plus, the rationales didn’t always give clear reasons as to why some answer choices were wrong and other were the most right. It’s probably a good supplemental app to pair with, but I cannot recommend this be your sole source for preparing for exam day

### 5/5 — Convenient and Practical

*2026-05-06, version 3.26.0*

I learn best through practice questions and then reading through the answers. My favorite thing about PocketPrep is the thorough answer explanation. With premium you can ask clarifying questions via chat and get real time responses.

### 5/5 — Helpful Study Tool

*2026-04-25, version 3.26.0*

These questions were very helpful in my prep for the exam. They got me used to the style of questions and content. It was a helpful addition to my other studies.

### 2/5 — Just ok

*2026-04-17, version 3.26.0*

A significant portion of the questions are based on a review manual that was published 10 years ago, 2016. Not what I would call up to date information.

### 5/5 — ANCC PMHNP

*2026-03-19, version 3.24.10*

Awesome application style questions. The questions help you to critically think and are very much align with ANCC style type questions. The rationales and mock exams are 10/10 chef’s kiss! I passed ANCC-PMHNP on the first try and these questions and study style 100% contributed to my success! Thank you pocket prep!

### 5/5 — STELLAR CNOR APP

*2026-03-06, version 3.24.8*

I PASSED MY CNOR 2 Mar 2026!
I answered 1029/1229 questions average score between 80-90% right before I took the test. The mock tests were not a good indication of how I would perform, rather what it would feel like to do 200 questions 🫠🤣
Just a few of my FAV about the APP: Daily questions, quick 10 questions, weak subject questions, selecting amount of questions (e.g., 5, 10, etc.), 2 week progress of correct vs missed questions & more.
The recent addition of clicking on key terms in the rationale/explanation of answer brilliant!
I do the daily question. A missed question has the rationale with various books & page numbers listed for additional study.

### 5/5 — I passed on my first try!

*2026-03-02, version 3.24.8*

Great way to prep. Loved the rationale and the daily questions!

### 5/5 — Accessible Study Tool

*2026-02-13, version 3.24.7*

Pocket Prep made it easy for my to get in small bits of study time during idle moments throughout the day- waiting in line, waiting for the dentist, etc. Gamifying studying works well for me, as does the motivation to not break a streak, which the app tracks. It helped me with my test taking strategy by giving me the opportunity to practice questions and identify rationale for correct answers. Highly recommend. I passed the ANCC PMHMP exam and felt confident during test taking.

### 5/5 — Passed my CEN!

*2026-01-28, version 3.24.6*

Great practice questions that had me feeling prepared going into the exam. The mock exams with 175 questions were great to practice focusing for that many questions.

### 5/5 — I Passed

*2026-01-27, version 3.24.6*

Pocket Prep was provided to me through my school and I must say that I understand why they put their trust in this app. I passed my ANCC PMHNP exam on 1/22/2026 and I credit a lot of my study progress to this app! The questions are way harder than the actual exam but I think that’s kind of the point! Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

### 5/5 — CNOR

*2026-01-06, version 3.24.5*

Great app for prepping! I passed so it worked!

### 5/5 — I passed

*2026-01-06, version 3.24.5*

Passed with 109/125. I did all 2000 questions, read all rationales and re-answered all the questions I missed. 😊

### 5/5 — Ancc pmhnp

*2026-01-02, version 3.24.5*

Amazing app! Really helped me ACE my exam with confidence and preparedness. 10/10

### 5/5 — AACN PCCN Prep

*2025-12-20, version 3.24.5*

I used this app to prepare for my PCCN certification exam and found it to be super useful. It provides great insight on your areas of strength and weakness. I cancelled my subscription because I passed on my first try, but I love this enough that I recommended it to my colleague who is also taking her PCCN exam soon.

### 5/5 — Pass CMSRN

*2025-12-09, version 3.24.5*

I passed on a first attempt. This app is great for studying for the test. I did over 1100 questions and 2 mock exams. I scored 60 and 58 on the mock exams. Also, I studied practice questions on quizlet, it was very helpful.

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2025-11-24, version 3.24.4*

Pocket prep is a really good study tool. I used it to pass my CMSRN certification. The questions are 3x harder on this app then the actual test but is still a great study tool to get prepared and understand the concepts of Med-Surg and critical care from a more in-depth perspective.

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2025-11-15, version 3.24.3*

Great prep tool for the pediatric nurse certification exams (CPN and PED-BC). While the apps’s questions were a bit easier than the actual exams, the constant access to practicing the material and getting my old brain back into exam-mode was invaluable.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — AMB-BC; didn’t pass

*2026-08-21, version 3.29.0*

The practices questions did not help prepare me for this exam. The level of difficulty and wording and structure of the exam was completely different from the actual. Buying this app was not helpful and a waste of money.

### 1/5 — It doesn’t prepare for the test .I took Amb bc test and prepared through this app and failed

*2026-05-30, version 3.26.0*

Failed my test

### 1/5 — CPAN

*2025-11-14, version 3.24.3*

Maybe 5 of the test questions from the study prep was in the 2025 CPAN I did not pass but will 100% not use this product to retake the exam. Even the material covered in the study questions was even relevant to the current test

### 1/5 — Not accurate to exam

*2025-09-13, version 3.23.4*

I had an average of 50% on this app and passed my exam first try. The questions on here don’t focus on the right material and are more difficult.

### 1/5 — My opinion

*2025-05-18, version 3.21.1*

Bad construction of questions. So many topics here that out of this world and didn’t come out on the exam… waste of time and money… I passed my CNOR but i stopped using this app when i was reviewing coz questions here are hard to answer and it did not help build my confidence in taking the actual exam…

### 1/5 — Keep losing content

*2025-04-30, version 3.21.1*

Keeps saying content not available

### 1/5 — Factually inaccurate

*2025-01-27*

As many others have pointed out in their reviews of a variety of tests, a lot of the questions/answers are inaccurate. For example one question was about placing desflurane in a sevoflurane vaporizer and what would happen.. The correct answer per the app was that the pt would get overdosed because des has a higher vapor pressure but that’s incorrect. Des does have a higher vapor pressure and therefore requires more heat to evaporate it into the breathing circuit, therefore, the sevoflurane canister would underdose des because it’s not heated as high as the des canister. I wouldn’t use this to study for the NBCRNA, especially when there’s so many more accurate test preps out there.

**Developer response:** Hi there! We would love to take a look at the questions you are referring to. Can you please send an email to support@pocketprep.com so we can be sure to address your concerns? Thanks so much in advance!

### 1/5 — All my Progress was Erased

*2024-12-21, version 3.19.1*

I went to study and low and behold all of my progress was gone. I tried to contact them and have heard nothing. Waste of time and money.

### 1/5 — Glitchy

*2024-12-18*

If I was writing this for the first few weeks that I was using this app it would easily be a 5 star review. Unfortunately their mobile app has since glitched and lost all of the progress that I had made in their level up mode. The information is still available on the browser but for $20 a month you would expect a better experience than this. Their team members are super kind and helpful but ultimately that does little good when the product you paid for is not functioning as it should. Save yourself the headache and try one of the many other apps available.

**Developer response:** Hi Noah! So sorry to hear that you are experiencing a bug with your Level Up quiz mode. Our team is aware of this issue and will have it resolved in the new year. We appreciate your patience and are sorry for any frustration this has caused! Wishing you the best as you continue to study.

### 1/5 — Not good for CEN emergency nursing

*2024-09-11, version 3.14.3*

They ask a lot of questions that has to do with patient who admitted and these are patient that we do not see in the emergency room.

Yes these rationales (but questions has poor premise) are based on the ENA Sheehy books but a lot of these questions look nothing like the CEN exam.

A lot of questions I don’t feel like our accurate. For example: one question states what test is the most helpful in dx endocarditis. Blood cultures was correct and despite echo being there. The rationale was that a echo set a definitive diagnosis but neither are blood cultures.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Passed CEN boards with pocket prep

*2026-08-15, version 3.28.1*

I feel that pocket prep prepared me for the board certification very well. It explained the concepts well using built-in AI, mimicked the actual test well, and after using it for about 6 weeks i passed the boards with a relatively high score

### 5/5 — 5 stars

*2026-08-07, version 3.28.1*

I used this app to prepare for my PCCN. I joined for a month and did the Question of the Day and Level Up quizzes. Passed on exam day! Would/will again if needed for cert exams.

### 5/5 — Passed my CEN 1st try

*2026-07-31, version 3.28.0*

I love the convenience of studying anywhere anytime as little as I want or as much as I want with rationals.

### 5/5 — Passed Exam

*2026-07-28, version 3.28.0*

You don’t need anything else to study! I passed my PMHNP AANP exam and they are all I used. Great rationales and majority of content was on exam. THANK YOU PP!!

### 5/5 — Great resource!

*2026-07-11, version 3.27.2*

Passed my PNP-PC first try.

### 5/5 — NPD-BC

*2026-06-27, version 3.27.2*

I used to study for my NPD-BC exam. These questions are not application based, but they are great to help learn the concepts! Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Passed CCRN on first try

*2026-06-22, version 3.27.2*

This app is amazing. Great for on the go and very informative.

### 5/5 — Helpful PMHNP ANCC prep

*2026-06-11, version 3.27.0*

I used this app in addition to studying to help me prepare for my PMHNP ANCC exam. I used it for practice questions daily. I heard rumors that this app’s questions were harder than the ANCC exam and I feel like that is mostly true. While I wouldn’t rely on this app alone I would recommend it to prepare for exams! I love the daily questions, quick 10, and weakest subject study options. I love how it gives you rationale with every question. Would recommend!

### 5/5 — TCRN removed from app

*2026-06-05, version 3.27.0*

BCEN TCRN exam questions got removed from this app. It is still advertised on the App Store as having the exam.

### 5/5 — Passed My Boards

*2026-05-25, version 3.26.0*

Pocket Prep was a great resource to study for my ANCC PMHNP boards. Good news… I passed. I felt the questions were more difficult in Pocket Prep, but it helped me to prepare effectively for my exam. It was a convenient way to get a lot of questions in on the go. The mock exams were perfect for building my stamina for the real boards. I would recommend to anyway taking NP boards.
