## What is Pocket Rates?

Pocket Rates is a free currency converter for travellers, remote workers, and anyone comparing currencies day to day. Convert an amount between supported ECB currencies, swap direction, and save favourite pairs for quick access — plus six major cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Cardano, BNB) shown for reference alongside them.

Keep a saved pair and amount in a small or medium Home Screen exchange-rate widget. Tap the widget to open the matching converter. Search currencies by code or name, then save, remove, and reorder your favourite pairs. See a pair's rate over the last 90 days in a simple chart, free for every saved pair.

Rates come from the European Central Bank (ECB) daily reference feed. Cryptocurrency reference rates are sourced separately and refresh on their own schedule, shown with their own timestamp so the two are never confused. Pocket Rates stores the last good dated snapshot for offline use. The source date and stale status remain visible, so an offline value is clearly an older reference rate, not a live market quote or bank execution price. Calculated cross-rates are identified where applicable.

Pocket Rates includes:

Pocket Rates is free to download. Converting is unlimited and every supported currency, cryptocurrency reference rate, search, rate history, offline rates and the single-pair widget are free, with up to three saved pairs. Pocket Rates Pro is one optional purchase, once, for unlimited saved pairs, the saved-pairs widget, and stepping through pairs from the single-pair widget. There are no transfers, trading, wallets, exchanges, alerts, accounts, ads, or subscriptions. Pocket Rates does not execute trades, hold funds, or connect to any exchange or wallet — cryptocurrency figures are reference rates only, exactly like the fiat rates beside them. ECB reference information is freely available from the ECB; Pocket Rates attributes the source in the app and identifies calculated cross-rates.
