The food pairing portion is also very handy. I write the app at three stars for the inventory portion. there are other apps out there that will identify wines from a photo of the label. I would be more than willing to pay for the extra convenience (and not requiring a second app just to inventory the wine). ### 4/5 — App pretty clean just need *2022-07-27, version 5.3* The app is pretty clean, straightforward and intuitive. Love it. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Won't help you find wines that match your criteria. *2025-05-27* Another wine app that can't help you find wines by basic properties like sweetness, alcohol %, or age. Let's say you want a Very Dry Merlot. The app can't help you with that. It can help you order one of their Merlot's but you can't filter for sweetness or anything else. It SHOULD provide a list of wines from everywhere, based on what you're searching for, and you could then find who sells those wines. But nope. It only shows what they're selling. We want an app that's a "Consumer Reports" for wine, but I haven't found one yet. **Developer response:** This review is for a different app, as we do not sell wines and never have. Neither do we recommend individual wines for users to buy. Given that you have posted this review in error, please remove it as soon as possible, as it is damaging and affects our overall rating on the App Store. After looking at 6 different apps, I finally found one called Vivino that successfully scanned the labels of all my wine with only 2% it could not recognize. ### 1/5 — Boring and nothing special *2012-01-24, version 1.2* I'd like more than a summary of the wikipedia page on wine. How about a camera function in order to categorize and classify previously tasted wines via pictures, a search function? Plain vague basics are not an 'application'. You take a pic of a label in Vivino and it auto populates the wine details. I paid for the Pocket Wine App and it still doesn’t auto populate. Other wine apps can autofill the wine information from a label picture. That key feature is missing here. ### 2/5 — Only 12 bottles, then 4.5 euro *2018-06-14, version 5.0.1* The free version only lets you add 12 bottles, then you need to pay 4.5 euro, a little bit too much. The app does not seem to be integrated with a visual search engine: you must fill all the fields manually. I think a price so high should be clearly written on the app description since the free version is not worth much. I have it since 2015-6. It is truly a wine bible. ### 5/5 — Wonderful for exploring and cataloging—and a suggestion *2023-11-03* I’ve been greatly enjoying learning more about through this app! It’s also got powerful features for storing details about your wines. One feature that would make it even better would be a quick filter button to show only My Wines currently listed with at least one bottle in stock. While it is possible to search by location, since I have a handful of very small storage places, it makes it cumbersome so see at a glance what I have on hand. This would also make it easier for My Wines to serve as a “have tasted” collection because the wines not currently in stock would not be cluttering up the viewing space. Right now the only way to not see wines that have already been consumed is to delete them, but I’d rather keep them archived. Thanks for your app! **Developer response:** We are delighted you are enjoying the app and thank you for your review. The feature you request is actually in the app already. When you go to the “My Wines” tab there is a Sort button on the top left of the screen (a down arrow symbol). When you tap on this Sort button you will see options to display you wines by all of the following: Date Added, Styles, Cellar, Vintage, Rating, Favorites and Wishlist. When you select Cellar from this list all of your wines with at least one bottle in stock will be displayed – these wines will be displayed in descending order based on the stock available with the highest displayed first. Tip: if you want to see, for example, what Bordeaux wines you have in stock just select Cellar from the Sort button and then type “Bordeaux” into the Search bar at the top of the screen. All of the Bordeaux wines you have in stock will then be displayed. Hope this helps. From the start, you get asked some simple questions, to work out what wjote/red wines you will like. This is called 'My Taste' which builds a profile of your wine taste. It has an indepth guide of the variety of grapes all around the world, which tells you how it tastes and also a detailed description of the grape. Highly recommend this app. Updated review after a couple of years in use - This is a great wine app, especially if you want to record the wines you have tried and give them a score. It’s a good bit of software to refine wines you like and also to explore new wines going forward.
