## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.0 — 2026-08-22

Pocketbird now opens on Home — a dashboard that answers the morning question: how am I doing this cycle?

A HOME SCREEN THAT DOES THE MATH
Safe to Spend on top, what you've spent today, how far the cycle has run, and one card with everything due in the next seven days — bills and debt payments together — so the money you must set aside stops hiding inside your balance. An Insight of the Day surfaces the one thing worth knowing, and you choose which cards show, in your order.

SLIPS IN YOUR PHOTOS, FOUND FOR YOU
Turn on Slip Capture and Pocketbird checks your new photos on this device for bank-transfer slips, then offers them on Home to log in a tap. Recognition runs entirely on your phone — no photo is ever uploaded — and nothing is saved until you confirm. Pick which banks count, keep general receipts out (or opt them in), review everything found in one list, and, if you want, let unambiguous bank slips land in To Review by themselves, still waiting for your confirmation.

CLEAR THE WHOLE DAY IN THIRTY SECONDS
The daily reminder now tells you how much you can spend today. Tapping it opens a review sheet: your usual expenses as one-tap chips, what you've logged today underneath, and the full form one tap away.

A WIDGET THAT KNOWS YOUR USUALS
The new Usual Expenses widget turns the things you log most into one-tap buttons with the right category attached, straight from the Home Screen. No setup.

A STREAK, AND A BIRD THAT GROWS WITH IT
Log something every day and watch the bird grow from egg to fledgling. Miss a whole day and it starts over — mornings don't count against you.

YOUR CYCLE, WRAPPED
When a pay cycle ends, get a recap: where the money went, your biggest expense, your no-spend days, and how it compares to last cycle — as a card you can share.

SUBSCRIPTIONS THAT DRIFTED GET CALLED OUT
Insights now flags a subscription whose real charges no longer match the amount you set — with the yearly cost of the gap — and a variable bill you've quietly stopped confirming.

EVERY FIELD REMEMBERS WHAT YOU'VE TYPED
Notes, shop items, transfer memos, bill titles, lenders' names: your own past entries come back as you type, most-used first. One tap fills it in — and on a transaction, the note brings its category with it.

SEARCH, WHEREVER THERE WAS ONLY SCROLLING
Accounts, trips, tags, rules, remembered shops, group bills, debt payments and holidays all gained a search box, and every long picker is now a searchable list. Icon search now understands Thai — type กาแฟ or น้ำมัน and get the icon you meant.

ALSO
- Long histories — an account's transactions, a debt's payments, a pocket's transfers — load a page at a time, so they open fast however long you've used the app.
- Jump straight to an earlier budget cycle from one menu.
- A debt that isn't paid off stops saying it is: a back-dated payment that doesn't add up is flagged, not silently zeroed into "settled".
- Merging duplicate people, tags or categories is one searchable list with a confirmation.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-14

This release is all about categories — the part of Pocketbird you touch every single time you log
something.

YOUR CATEGORIES, IN YOUR OWN ORDER
Drag to reorder categories and subcategories, and every picker in the app follows the same order.
The manager now has search, a transaction count on each row, and merging two categories into one.

ARCHIVE A CATEGORY YOU'VE STOPPED USING
An archived category leaves every picker, so nothing new can be filed under it — while its past
transactions keep counting everywhere. Unarchive it any time.

MONEY THAT MOVES BUT ISN'T SPENDING
Flag a category as not spending — e-wallet top-ups, cash withdrawals, costs someone pays you back —
and it stops counting against Safe-to-Spend, your budgets and your charts, while the money stays in
your ledger and balances. Where a figure leaves something out, it now says so.

THE CATEGORY YOU CONFIRM STICKS
Confirm a shop's category once and it's pre-filled next time — in slips, pasted messages, Siri, the
widget and bulk categorizing. A new Learned Merchants screen shows everything Pocketbird remembers,
and lets you forget any of it.

SORT THE CATEGORY BEFORE IT LANDS
Statement rows show the category they'll be filed under so you can fix it right there. A suggested
category is one tap to accept, and you can create a category without leaving the form.

HEALTH, INSURANCE AND MERIT-MAKING ARE BUILT IN
Three categories join the defaults, with subcategories for hospital, medicine, doctor visits,
check-ups, temple, donations, envelope gifts and each kind of insurance.

TURN OFF APP ANNOUNCEMENTS
A switch under notifications silences announcements from the Pocketbird team on this device. Your
reminders and group notifications keep working.

ALSO FIXED
- Summary, the burn-down chart and Insights now agree on what counts as spending.
- Merging two categories sticks after your devices sync.
- Siri and Shortcuts still answer about a category you archived.
- A new recurring bill can no longer be pointed at an archived category.
- Known shops are recognized in statement imports, pasted messages, slips and bulk categorizing —
and stay recognized after you rename a built-in category.
- Filters still list archived categories, so your history is never hidden from search.
- Your data export now carries category order, archive state and the shops Pocketbird has learned.
- Summary and the transaction list do less work per frame, so long lists scroll more smoothly.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-08-08

The manual, in full
Every screen, every setting, and the features most people never find — Settings › About › User Manual.

A new address on the web
The website, help pages and privacy policy now live at pocketbirdapp.com.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-07

Split a bill, then settle up
Pocketbird now works out the fewest transfers that square a group up, and you can mark everything between you and one person settled in a single step. Add a 10% service charge and 7% VAT the way a Thai receipt does, carve out an item only some people shared, and correct a bill in place instead of deleting and re-adding it for everyone. When the round is over, share a summary of what each person spent, who paid for what, and who still owes whom — or send a pre-written, no-hard-feelings reminder.

Trips now have a budget
Set a budget for a trip and see what is left — and what that works out to per remaining day. The trip you are on appears on the Home screen and in a new widget.

Booked ahead, counted apart
Flights, hotels and anything else paid before the trip starts are now counted apart from spending on the ground, so the per-day figure is honest and the category breakdown is not swallowed by one prepaid fare. If you front the bill for the group, only your share counts as your trip cost while your account still shows the full amount that left it. Trip detail gains a spending-by-day chart, and a recap card you can share when you get home.

Recurring bills, in full detail
Link a bill to an account, savings pocket or debt, set up recurring transfers between accounts, and keep track of trial end dates, cancellation deadlines and announced price changes. Skipping or moving an occurrence now updates its date, countdown and reminder everywhere.

An easier recurring list
Bills are grouped by how soon they are due, each group with its own total, the account it is paid from, and a clearer badge for estimated amounts.

Quicker capture, cleaner imports
Slip scanning is one tap from your ledger instead of hidden in a menu. Re-importing an overlapping bank statement no longer creates duplicates — rows already in your ledger are flagged before anything is added, and new rows arrive with categories.

Start on day one
Setup now ends with your first real entry, and an optional daily reminder helps the habit stick.

You choose what you share
A new switch in Settings turns off usage statistics. They count which features get used — never amounts, notes or names — and they are deleted with your account.

Fixed: if you paid a shared bill, your ledger recorded only your share instead of the whole amount that left your account.

Plus readable baht amounts on every chart, a calmer notice when sync is paused for maintenance, and a long list of small fixes.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-02

• A cleaner home — transactions show up sooner, and you can browse previous cycles right from the ledger
• Tap a notification and land on the exact screen it's about
• Send feedback and vote on what we build next, from Settings
• Profile & cycle switches now save instantly
• Connected AI assistants can move money between accounts, attach receipts, and manage recurring bills
• Clearer wording throughout, sync fixes, and lots of small polish
