## What is PocketClonk?

PocketClonk brings Clonk to iPhone and iPad. In this side-view 2D world, lead your crew, dig for resources, build what you need, and take on fast tactical battles.

Two engines, one app. OpenClonk scenarios run on the OpenClonk engine, and Clonk Rage era content runs on LegacyClonk, the engine it was written for. Both are compiled into the same binary and share one window, one renderer and one set of controls, so a level plays the way its authors built it instead of through an emulation of the engine it expects.

Getting there took real engine work. Both engines were ported to iOS and to OpenGL ES, which meant writing a new renderer for the legacy one: its own was fixed-function OpenGL, and the iPhone has no such thing. The two engines share thirty years of ancestry and eleven thousand identically named symbols, so they are linked in a way that keeps them apart. Clonk is a keyboard game, so the touch controls send the same commands a key would, all the way down to the way its menus are answered.

Free forever: everything that ships with OpenClonk and LegacyClonk. The single in-app purchase adds the Community Classics collection and lets you import your own scenario folders.
