### 4/5 — Great App, One Issue

*2022-09-25, version 2.5.31*

I’ll admit I don’t play Pokémon Go and really only use this app for the Pokémon of the day widget. However, it seems like more often than not the Pokémon sprite won’t be displayed on the widget. It seems like it happens most of the time, I’d say it appears correctly once a week or less. The name, stats, and Pokédex entry text all appear, but the sprite never seems to show up. This has been happening for a while, so if it could be fixed I’d be very happy about it!

### 3/5 — Pro features not working

*2021-12-29, version 2.5.23*

I can’t seem to get some of the pro features to work correctly with this app. The in game scan doesn’t work most of the time now. When it does it’s random and it takes forever to load anything back to me. It also won’t accept, or recognize, many of the pictures I have to scan and import because the in game scanner won’t work. For example, I can’t get Hoopa (unbound); Xerneas; Alolan Vulpix; or Galarian Mr. Mime to scan in at all. Please advise and thank you for your help.

### 3/5 — It's a great game for Pokémon Go but

*2021-09-01, version 2.5.16*

It needs to be updated or something so the issues are fixed. It just randomly closes out all the time now And won't let me upload Pokémon pics almost all of the time. Plus, I don't like that you can't log in with your Pokémon account so you can save & sync your progress.

### 4/5 — Good but needs fixes

*2021-08-11, version 2.5.13*

It’s a pretty good app it shows shinys, info and Pokémon but does have some problems with scanning with final evolutions and some not, such as, starmie, victreebel, kingler, hypno, those are some of the ones that I tried and didn’t worked, they mostly make the scanner think their their prior evolution

### 4/5 — Just 2 Fixes and I Would Buy…

*2021-07-30, version 2.5.13*

1. Scanning Pokémon. 2 Wild Scan (Beta). I want to buy this app so bad but can’t until these two things are fixed. The first just doesn’t work well enough. I cannot figure out how to get both the attacks and the iv in the same scan. There needs to be system so that two duplicate scans merge or something. Poke genie can tell me everything from just scanning without the appraisal most of the time. I know the second fix, Wild Scan, is in beta but it could absolutely change gameplay for iPhone forever. I would love it. It’s just not helpful as is right now since most of the time it give you a huge range of what the iv could be and doesn’t scan the color of the ring around the Pokémon. Lastly I will say the main reason I like this app is that it’s super pretty and user friendly. The fact that they’re trying to implement scan Pokémon at catch phase is golden. I literally can’t wait.

### 3/5 — Great App, but… Widgets

*2021-06-13, version 2.5.11*

Pocketdex is a fantastic app, providing both data in regards to Pokémon Go and accurate pokedex entries for most pocket monsters. However, the coolest feature it offers is the widgets, between the calendar featuring various ‘mons, and a neat “Pokémon of the Day” feature which does as the name suggests, providing a different entry each day. Unfortunately, this review could not give five stars, as the widgets fail to update, remaining a static entry for the duration of this install. Still, it does provide information on my Pokémon Go monsters that I could not find in game without first transferring to SwSh or the like.

### 4/5 — Need integration but could be better

*2021-05-19, version 2.5.5*

I enjoy the more in depth looks of my Pokémon from GO however I wish it would automatically pull what I have caught.

Also I have caught multiple Pokémon on GO that aren’t available on this app as they’re not tracking them yet. Would be nice to keep up to date with any new additions such as abra, phampy, and ralts

### 4/5 — Great app! Navigation issues.

*2021-03-11, version 2.4.6*

Great features! I really wish you had the option to close a window or make the swipe-down to get to the previous screen easier. This makes navigating the app a bit painful.

### 4/5 — No more crashing!!

*2020-11-02, version 2.3.5*

Just paid $12 for this and it kept crashing over and over. I rebooted my phone, restarted the app, doesn’t work. Please fix

Update: they fixed the glitch!! Beautiful UI & very nice app. The screen record analysis is a little slow tho. I wish it would automatically add Pokémon entries by itself so I don’t have to keep tapping on the notification pop ups

### 4/5 — Love almost all of it

*2020-10-18, version 2.3.4*

This is a great app except for a couple of features. It doesn’t scan all of my pokemon and I can’t manually add those that it won’t scan. If I try to use the screenshot I just get an error. I also wish I could just click on the pokemon to edit/view info instead of having to swipe.

The only other thing I can say is that I wish it would read my pokedex. Since I’ve already evolved pokemon it doesn’t show the first and second forms because they aren’t in my pokemon list even though they are in my pokedex.

I absolutely love the ratings and stats along with being able to view the shiny versions.

### 4/5 — Would be 5 stars, but...

*2020-10-15, version 2.3.4*

So far that I’ve found, this app has the most in one place. Only exception being that I can’t update or edit my Pokémon once they’re scanned in. If I change attacks, evolve, or power up, I can’t update my scan. That and the time and battery life of my phone is caught with the screenshot and stays there in the app, so when I’m looking at my Pokémon, I can’t tell what time it is, because the actual time is superimposed over the screenshot time. Or, if you use the auto-scan in the game, the red recording bar at the top is captured. Splitting hairs, maybe. But it looks a mess and would be something I’d like fixed. Otherwise, very useful app.

### 4/5 — Functional but not quick.

*2020-09-13, version 2.2.5*

Taking a screenshot, switching apps, and having Pocketdex scan gets tiresome for many Pokémon but the results seem accurate at least. Stats, moves, rankings, and moves for each Pokémon are helpful but still unclear what the Oh? tab is for. Raid info and the notifications for new bosses are useful.

### 4/5 — Very useful but

*2020-09-10, version 2.2.5*

This app is very useful, it gives stats about your Pokémon and all the info you could need while playing.

However, in order to scan your Pokémons, it needs to have access to your photo library and after that it can scan a single screenshot, so one Pokémon at a time. If they can enable an automatic scan via the Pokémon GO app I would change it to 5 stars because as it is now is very annoying to use.

### 4/5 — The text is way too small

*2020-09-10, version 2.2.5*

I have really been enjoying the app , but my only issue is that the text showing the type percentages under the second tab when you click on any Pokémon is way to small . It would be much better if you could make it bigger so we can just look at it at a glance , without too much effort , as I look at this tab a lot .

### 3/5 — Pokédex

*2020-08-30, version 2.2.4*

The app could be a really good one to use along with POGO if it was a little more user friendly. The directions are pretty sketchy, when you scan the photos you don’t get all of the information transferred to the app, and you have to enter the information manually which is a time consuming process. I have paid for this already but not sure I will continue to try and use it.

### 4/5 — Good stat info but would like target info

*2020-08-23, version 2.2.4*

In comparison to pokie genie that app is cleaner and more intuitive to use but is missing a featur I’m use to and one that helps you know if your keeping a Pokémon or transfer and that is telling you the evolved percentage iV for each league. It appears to show the same percentage for multiple leagues. I’m very new to using so maybe if this had settings that were customizable to the info you want to know. Example I love to pvp and you give those stats and that is great but I would like to see the % the actual Pokémon ranks once evolved aka the target Pokémon stats in pvp vw raids

### 4/5 — New user

*2019-07-19, version 1.4.8*

Been using for 2 mos June-July 2019.
It has been free, with minimal ads of which do not block you when using the app.!!!!!!!!! That alone is awesome.
Few Pokémon are difficult to enter, but that could be my lack of knowledge. I have a Pokémon that has different moves, of which are not an option and therefore proper rating is not achieved. Overall, free and it works.
Pokémon has changed, so this app is almost obsolete.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t Work

*2022-02-16, version 2.5.24*

I used to use this helpful app years ago; I’m getting back into Pokémon Go again, and decided to give it another shot. I saw that it had completely changed, but didn't think much of it at the time. Paid for the Pro upgrade, when I saw the Pro features. However, I immediately regret paying for it. This app isn’t what it used to be.

1.) Upon clicking on the notification "Receive notifications when new Raid Bosses are available to battle," the app immediately crashes. Tried closing out & reopening the app; still crashes. Cool.

2.) Tried a number of times to 'scan' and add Pokemon from Pokemon Go to the app; never worked. Cool.

3.) All I wanted was to manually add Pokemon to a list; as far as I can tell, there are 0 ways of doing this. Cool.

I will be requesting a refund, and deleting this app.

### 1/5 — Liars and pirates

*2021-01-14, version 2.4.3*

These liars forget to tell you that they are collecting and selling your limited data that you have purchased from your cell phone company. They claim its screen shot free but then after you download it you find out the apps free to download but costs to use. Typical from foreign entities like these chomos. Pathetic is the first word that comes to mind and one more thing..... why is it everytime I’m at the park with my kid, i see the dude that designed this app over in the south end of the park in those three bushes receding kids playing? Isn’t there laws against people like that yet? Sicko. Must be a new world order thing. I wouldn’t understand!

### 1/5 — Not worth the money or time

*2019-07-28, version 1.4.8*

Mostly you will get unknown results or a wide range of IV. About 20% of the time you get a defined IV. The reason you do not results is because the app can not determine the level of your Pokémon. It asks you to update your level in this app but nothing changes. This happens with certain Pokémon and the error repeats so you cannot simply try again. If you don’t want to pay and do not mind these issues it is a decent app.
Update: with recent updates to Pokémon Go this app is now not capable to give a limited defined IV. I can still use it to calculate how much candy and stardust I need to power up a Pokémon to max. The raid feature only allows you to add one manually and does not have a full database of current raids. For raids it would be look for a local social media group.

### 1/5 — Not worth paying for

*2019-05-20, version 1.4.7*

I decided to try this app instead of the one I had been using because it said you could do in-game scans, unlike other apps I had used. However, once I downloaded the app, I learned you had to pay for that. I ended up doing so but it wasn’t worth it. It was a waste of money. It doesn’t do anything because you have to screenshot it & then manually input the appraisal anyway, just like other apps, which are free. It’s pointless. I’m pretty disappointed.

### 1/5 — Terrible. Get PokeGenie instead.

*2019-01-10, version 1.4.2*

App doesn’t work as described. Pro subscription is a waste and doesn’t make uploads much smoother. You have to have to open the app before you open Pokémon Go, take a screenshot and the app shows a drop down notification of the IV info. You still have to update appraisal and moves info to get an accurate score. Most of the time it cannot even read Pokemon acquired from raids.

I am using PokeGenie now which can read all the Pokemon I have tried so far, from field and raids alike. Includes a battle simulator and while you have to upload screenshots and update appraisal info, most of the time it reads moves automatically. The PokeGenie also asks if you have leveled up based on the stats of the Pokémon you scan, keeping your Pokémon in the app updated. Just altogether more accurate and easier to use.

### 1/5 — Does not work.

*2018-12-23, version 1.4*

I bought the lifetime subscription and I want my money back. This app started out scanning everything I sent it’s way and did everything as advertised. I then bought the lifetime subscription and now it won’t scan anything. I’ve spoken with tech support a few times and still no resolve. I have to admit they took 2 days to get back to be which is MUCH quicker than other app support teams.. but that still doesn’t make it ok for me.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t do what it says FRUSTRATING!

*2018-06-20, version 1.3.1*

The point of me downloading and paying for this was to make my gaming experience and iv checking a lot easier. You can’t multi delete anything in this app nor does it’s an directly through the game. The point of this was to not have to switch back and forth between 2 apps. Which I believe was everyone’s hope and basically what there selling point is but this is so frustrating to use. I’ve never wanted to throw my phone through a wall more so than I have while trying to use this app!

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2018-03-30, version 1.2.5*

I downloaded Pocketdex to compare it to Poke Genie, which has set the standard for Pokemon Go utility apps. My frustrations set in immediately. My first test scan was Mewtwo. Pocketdex insisted it was a Mew, and wouldn't give me Mewtwo as an option to change it to. My next scan was a dragonite. This time the app was a little closer: it asked if it was a Dratini, a Dragonair, or a Dragonite. I can remember only one time out of thousands that Poke Genie has ever asked for help with identifying a Pokemon, and it was because I made a bad screenshot. It didn't scan what the moveset was. I had trouble entering the appraisal information, and couldn't figure out how to make corrections. Poke Genie would have taken care of all that quickly and easily.

In short, using Pocketdex would add more time and effort and give me less, the opposite of what I need. The makers have a long ways to go before this app will be worth considering as an alternative.

### 2/5 — Not sure how this works

*2022-01-02, version 2.5.23*

I dl the app based off of it proclaiming no screen shots for iv when i go to my go app it does nothing but a drop down notification even after i paid for a subscription thinking maybe that was the issue. Other than that poke genie does everything this does minus the raid info and what not but again I dont dislike the app but it doesn’t do as it was advertised far as the calculations on pokemon in game

### 2/5 — Misleading wording, doesn’t do what it says

*2018-07-25, version 1.3.4*

It’s like every other IV calculator. You screenshot and it tells you the IV, most of the time it doesn’t even tell me what the IV is or it says it couldn’t gather the information. Mewtwo, Metagross, and a Flareon specifically aren’t working for me as a few examples. The app description says that it “works through PoGo app” and really it doesn’t. You take a screenshot and the app gives you a drop down notification of the IV %. However, the way they word the phrase made me think you had to pay for the app. So I paid for a subscription, which I would like a refund on, because this app does not do as stated. It does not work within Pokémon Go, it works completely on its own, and a drop down notification is not “within the app”. It would be more simple to screenshot all of my Pokémon and mass import them into any other app.

The way the app was worded sounds great and 100% useful! However, it doesn’t work as they say, deceitful.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Please fix the app

*2022-01-09, version 2.5.23*

Fix the scan beta I regret buying the upgrade when I contacted y’all several times about the beta scan and y’all ain’t done nothing about it I hope nobody upgrades till it’s fixed cause their ain’t no other reason to upgrade

### 5/5 — Great little app

*2021-12-06, version 2.5.22*

Took me a little exploring to figure out the UI in some areas, and some of that could still use a little tweaking imo, but there are some really nice features here, especially if you’re into kinky stuff like optimizing IVs for play in low-CP leagues. Once you’ve scanned in the base form, you can see how the IVs will stack up for the evolved forms as well which is really nice.

There are a few of the features from Go Field Guide that I’d like to see here, and the search in the Pokédex needs work (randomly reverts to displaying everything instead of filtering by what I’m typing sometimes), but I didn’t hesitate to chip in a subscription for what these guys are building.

### 5/5 — Pokemon go

*2021-11-03, version 2.5.22*

This game is really fun and I hope you can add some new Pokémon if there is some new Pokémon so please add some new Pokémon stories because all the Pokémon you make looks really cool and I think you can make some better animations with the Pokémon when you click on them keep it up and please make it easier to find legendary’s I really wanna find one I saw guarantee no one’s in my friends had Garrett Tina’s so they want to battle it and I didn’t catch it so please if I can find a guarantee know that will really help me

### 5/5 — Wow

*2021-03-30, version 2.5.2*

Just got it and let me say it’s great for seasoned players. Tells you what raids are happening and when, different events, counters to every pokémon, etc. definitely get it if you’re looking for a way to keep track of all the events and raids

### 5/5 — Dextastic

*2020-11-11, version 2.3.5*

This is a solid app. I’ve used similar apps in the past but this one is hands down the best I’ve used. It’s easy interface and range of uses makes this my #1 choice for Pokémon Go apps. It compares stats, tells you strengths and weaknesses of Pokémon and even the damage percentage bonus of the different Pokémon types. Get this app yesterday.

### 5/5 — TBD

*2020-09-21, version 2.3.1*

Decided to try this to compare to Poke Genie. Paid for lifetime subscription and a day after that...app no longer opens. After posting this review the developer fixed the problem and app now works. Will review completely after using without further issues

### 5/5 — Newest update doesn’t scan correctly

*2020-06-19, version 2.1.1*

Bought the pro for a lifetime so I could use this in game and see the stats however they’re incorrect and isn’t right as I have a 100% Pokémon and the in game scan says “82%” how’s that even possible? Screenshot says 100% but in game scan says 82%. Needs some work and very dissatisfied sadly.

UPDATE: It was my bad that I was reading the percentages incorrectly it does in deed work as it should with further looking into. 5* definitely for how easily this works. Sorry about that bad feedback looking forward to the new update! Thank you for responding.

### 5/5 — CP per level

*2019-12-17, version 2.0.5*

I used this app mainly to check combat power per 5 levels and since the new update I can’t find that feature. If it’s been removed I’ll likely have to find another dex app. Love the UI and design but it seems to be missing my favorite feature now

### 5/5 — Tried to Email and Ask for Guidance

*2019-11-19, version 2.0.1*

I did my best to reach out via email to let them know that even after I purchased the subscriptions, it wasn’t applying to the app. Also, when I tried to scan, the app would quit.

Please advise.

- update: the developer reached out about an update. Will wait for this update but is still currently unfixed.

### 5/5 — Response to the Top Comment

*2019-05-13, version 1.4.7*

it cannot be integrated into the actual Pokémon Go app as that goes against Niantic’s COC and can get your account perma-banned. if you’re that worried about being able to see direct IV’s in-game, then take your chances with a spoofing app. as for legit players, you will not find a better IV checking app.
