## What is PocketKnife Vault?

PocketKnife Vault is a free, offline password manager that keeps your credentials locked on your device — no cloud account, no subscription, no compromises.
Your passwords are yours. PocketKnife Vault never sends your data to a server, never syncs to the cloud, and never asks you to create an account. Everything lives encrypted on your iPhone, protected by the same biometrics and passcode you already use to unlock your device.

PocketKnife Vault takes a different approach: your credentials stay on your phone, protected by hardware-backed encryption, and only you can access them.

Password generator — create strong, randomized passwords between 12 and 32 characters with uppercase, numbers, and symbols.

Security you can verify:
PocketKnife Vault is built on a short, auditable stack. Passwords are stored exclusively in the iOS Keychain — the same hardware-backed secure enclave used by Apple Pay. All other entry data (descriptions, usernames, URLs, notes) is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before being written to the local database. The encryption key never leaves your Keychain. The database is excluded from iCloud and iTunes backups so your metadata never travels off-device.

There are no ads. There is no analytics SDK. There is no network code. PocketKnife Vault has no idea who you are and no way to find out.
