## What is PocketMile?

PocketMile is the private mileage tracker that sorts your trips for you. Your drives are logged automatically, your data never leaves your phone, and your numbers are ready at tax time. Built for real estate agents and any self-employed driver who deducts mileage.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT

Your trips and your locations are your personal data, and PocketMile keeps them that way.
- Everything stays on your device and your own private iCloud. Nothing touches our servers, ever.
- No account. No login. No analytics. No third-party data brokers. No advertising SDKs. No profile of you, anywhere.
- Nothing is shared with anyone, not even me, the developer.
- Our App Store privacy label says it plainly: Data Not Collected.

Most mileage apps run on a company's cloud behind an account, which means someone else logs everywhere you drive and which clients you see. PocketMile doesn't. That is the whole point.

WHAT POCKETMILE DOES

- AUTOMATIC TRIP TRACKING
GPS and motion detection start and stop your trips while you drive. No taps. No popup to remember.

- AUTO-CLASSIFY BY CAR
Pair your work car and personal car once. When that car's Bluetooth or CarPlay connects, PocketMile marks the trip Business or Personal automatically. (Bluetooth doesn't start trips, it just tells your cars apart. GPS and motion handle that.)

- UNDERGROUND-PROOF GPS
Lose signal in a garage or tunnel? PocketMile holds your last location and resumes when GPS returns. Your trip doesn't break.

- EASY ON YOUR BATTERY
No constant GPS drain. PocketMile stays asleep until you actually leave, then wakes up to track. It barely touches your battery.

- CLASSIFY ON YOUR TIME
No nagging "Business or Personal?" popup after every drive. Trips wait in your Unclassified pile until you're ready, then you clear them in one sitting.

- A WORKING TOGGLE FOR BUSINESS DAYS
Flip Working on and every trip is tagged Business until you flip it off. Handy for a full day of showings or client meetings.

- SAVED PLACES THAT CLASSIFY AND LABEL FOR YOU
Tag a place like your office or a listing once. Trips that end there get marked Business or Personal automatically, and even fill in the reason for you. No typing.

- TAX-TIME EXPORTS
Pick your country once and export a clean PDF or CSV for your accountant. Filter by date range and by Business, Personal, or Unclassified, and switch between miles and kilometers anywhere in the app.

BUILT FOR REAL ESTATE AGENTS

You're across town all day: clients, open houses, listings. You don't have time to fiddle with an app. PocketMile picks up every drive, classifies it by your car or the Working toggle, and builds a tidy, tax-ready logbook for your accountant. (We keep the mileage record. Your accountant handles the tax part.)

It works just as well for any self-employed driver: gig drivers, contractors, freelancers, sales reps, anyone who deducts mileage.

WHAT POCKETMILE IS NOT

We're not a bookkeeping app. We don't link to your bank, scan your receipts, or estimate your taxes. We log trips, classify them, and give you a clean export. That's the entire job.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.18.0 — 2026-09-10

Tag trips right on the list. Every untagged trip shows Personal and Business buttons. One tap, no extra screen.

No more reason nagging. Business trips no longer bounce back for a missing reason. Add reasons when you want, and the export check reminds you before tax time.

Swipe either way. Swipe a trip to tag it Personal or Business.

Trips start on time. If the app misses the moment you pull out, it now recovers the real start and the missed distance. Short blips under 1 km are saved untagged instead of counted as business.

Plus: the data size in Settings now shows your real storage, and one fewer pop-up when you dismiss a suggestion.

### 1.17.0 — 2026-07-06

PocketMile 1.17 is our biggest update yet, built around one promise: never lose a trip.

A trip engine you can trust
- Trips start within seconds, even after a long stop or an underground garage exit
- Your trip is saved even if your iPhone closes the app mid drive. The recorded segment is waiting in your log when the app comes back
- Parked somewhere with no signal? The address fills itself in the next time the app gets a connection
- Stops split your trips: park, step out, drive on, and each leg logs on its own

A clearer trip list
- Every trip shows its full route on two lines, start and destination
- Tag, reason, car and distance sit exactly where your eyes expect them

Notifications that say where
- The trip alert now leads with your destination and distance, so one glance confirms the trip was caught

Also new since 1.14
- Smarter destinations: park and walk to the door, and PocketMile records where you actually ended up
- Light, Dark or Follow System under Settings, Appearance
- Recently Deleted: recover a trip removed by mistake
- Full French (Canada) throughout the app

### 1.16.0 — 2026-07-01

This update makes automatic trip detection sharper and adds new appearance options.

- More reliable, faster trip detection, with fewer missed drives and fewer false starts
- Stop and head back out? That now logs as two separate trips instead of one
- New Light, Dark, and System appearance setting

Thanks for using PocketMile. Questions or ideas? Reach us any time from Settings.

### 1.14.0 — 2026-06-25

What's new in this update:

- Sessions: tag a whole day of driving in one tap on the review screen.
- Swipe a trip on the Mileage screen to set it Business or Personal.
- Trips that tag themselves: when you keep tagging a place the same way, PocketMile offers to set a rule so trips there sort themselves.
- Add a reason on the spot while tagging, without a detour to Settings.
- Easier to read: darker, slightly larger text across the app.

Private by design, as always: no account, and your trips stay on your phone and your own iCloud.
