## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 3.8.4 — 2026-09-16

• Prayer times now match the official Awqaf UAE calendar
• Set your city manually if you prefer not to share location
• Listen to full surahs in the Audio Hub, with resume
• Fixed Hijri calendar dates and month lengths
• Arabic interface improvements
• Bug fixes and performance improvements

### 3.8.1 — 2026-08-01

Fixes for location and prayer reminders.

• Prayer times and Qibla now find your location reliably, including indoors and on first launch
• Prayer reminders are being scheduled again
• We now explain why we need your location before asking
• Permission prompts appear in your language
• Your city no longer stays stuck on "Locating…"

### 3.8 — 2026-07-29

This update is about one thing: prayer times you can trust.
We checked PocketQuran against the calendars published by national authorities and corrected every timing that disagreed.

  • Turkey — Asr now matches Diyanet
  • Indonesia — Fajr now matches Kemenag, so imsak lines up during Ramadan
  • Iraq — Asr corrected
  • Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman & Yemen — Isha now follows the Umm al-Qura Ramadan timing
  • Anywhere else — if your country was unrecognised, times were quietly taken from your phone's region instead
of where you actually are. Fixed.

If you pray in one of these countries, you will notice some times have moved. They now match the calendar your local mosque follows. You can always choose your own calculation method and juristic school in Settings.

ALSO IN THIS RELEASE
  • Every notification, reminder, and native screen is now fully translated across all 12 languages
  • Home screen widget: fixed prayer times showing in the wrong timezone across parts of Europe
  • Home screen widget: no longer announces Sunrise as your next prayer
  • The app now tells you when notifications are silenced or blocked, instead of failing quietly

Jazak Allahu khayran for using PocketQuran. May Allah accept your prayers.
