Podcast Maker is a podcast recorder, voice memo and dictation app for iPhone. Record episodes in uncompressed 48 kHz audio — crash-proof, with nothing lost if the app closes. Voice recorder and audio editor in one app for podcasters: choose your microphone, record, invite guests via link, edit, and export as M4A (AAC) or WAV — all on iPhone. CRASH-PROOF RECORDING Uncompressed 48 kHz recording. Audio is written to storage every ten seconds — nothing is lost even if the app crashes or iPhone restarts. Pause and resume anytime. Drop markers while recording. Recording continues in the background, in other apps, and on the lock screen. An incoming call does not stop the recording — it pauses and resumes automatically. A take can run up to four hours. MICROPHONE AND LEVELS Choose your mic: iPhone's built-in, wired headphones, a USB interface, or Bluetooth. A warning appears when Bluetooth is selected, because it records at 16 kHz. The level meter warns when you are too quiet or too loud. Start with Siri; pause, resume and stop from the lock screen, Dynamic Island or home screen widget — without opening the app. REMOTE INTERVIEW WITH A GUEST Invite your guest via link — no app needed, they join from their browser. You hear each other live during recording, no Zoom or phone call. Each side records locally; the tracks are merged on the server afterward. An unstable connection does not affect audio quality. Both voices are automatically balanced in volume. If the connection drops, the app reconnects automatically. If your guest loses internet entirely, their recording is recovered and imported. And when your guest's recording stops, the recording screen tells you — so you never keep talking alone. EDITING ON iPHONE Waveform editor with zoom: select a range and delete, or cut in the middle without splitting the episode. Reorder segments, listen to each, remove them. Extract a clip from one episode and move it to another. Undo and redo; one tap restores the original recording. Markers, playback speed from 0.5× to 2×. Noise reduction and auto level, applied after the take and reversible. JOIN EPISODES AND INSERT SOUND Join episodes in any direction — solo into interview, interview into solo, or two interviews together — at the end or right at the playhead. Nothing already recorded moves, and you see the new length before you add. Add intro and outro from the built-in library, and drop applause, laughter or a sting anywhere: 40 sounds included. A sound sits on top: the episode keeps playing underneath, its length does not change, and nothing is written into the recording — take it away at any time. SERIES AND EXPORT Organize episodes under shows with automatic episode numbering. Export via the share sheet to any app — higher quality and WAV available. Export runs in the background and notifies you when it is done. ICLOUD BACKUP AND PRIVACY Optional backup to your own iCloud — sign in with your Apple ID to switch it on, and off again whenever you like. Without it, recordings stay on this device. The app works fully without an account, and your audio never reaches our servers. With backup on, your episodes and audio come back after a reinstall or on a new iPhone. Add a solo episode to an interview, an interview to a solo episode, or two interviews together — until now only solo-to-solo worked. On an interview the material goes to the Host lane and the Guest lane keeps the same length, so Mute and Solo keep working exactly as before. "Add recording" now asks where it should go: "At the end", or "Here" at the playhead. Nothing you already recorded is moved. INSERT SOUND Applause, laughter, a sting between two questions — now anywhere, not just at the top and tail. 40 sounds ship with the app. A sound sits ON TOP of your recording: the episode keeps playing underneath, its length does not change, and nothing is written into the recording — so you can take a sound away again at any time. RECORDING WITH A GUEST • Your recording screen now tells you when your guest's recording has stopped. Their browser stops at a size limit while yours can run on for hours, and until now you had no way of seeing it happen. • Premium is confirmed when a joint session STARTS, not when the two tracks are merged an hour later. A session that begins is allowed to finish. • Stop asks twice in a guest session — it ends two people's recording, and in the expanded Dynamic Island it is a wide target. Solo takes keep one tap. • An invitation now has two clocks: your guest can join for 48 hours, and you keep 7 days to bring the recording back. • On mobile data you are told what an hour of recording together uploads. FASTER, AND MORE HONEST • Preview plays live instead of rendering first. On a 23-minute interview with a sound added, the wait before playback went from 79 seconds to none. • A merged episode is no longer treated as edited — a 44-minute interview used to spend 20 minutes preparing itself before it would play. • "Original" undoes your cuts without undoing a merge. • The same recording cannot be added twice, and you see the new length before you add anything. • Tapping a segment highlights it in interviews too, not only in solo episodes. The app now speaks 18 languages. Czech, Danish, Finnish, Japanese, Norwegian, Swedish and Simplified Chinese join English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Korean, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese and Turkish.
