I love that it can be set to download the latest episodes automatically. It can also be set to delete items in the queue when it has ended. My favorite thing is that the queue stays put no matter what. This means that if I accidentally tap a slow a few places down, it DOESN’T REMOVE everything above it, including the show I was in the middle of listening to. This is something that drives me CRAZY about most of the other popular media players. I like the latest addition of suggesting podcasts, BUT on a different screen that I never have to look at if I don’t want to. My only issue is that the app crashes/won’t run whenever I turn my phone to portrait mode, (which happens to me A LOT!!) Other than that, this app is a PERFECT 5 stars!! That being said, they sure do consistently find ways to break something with every update. The latest major update made it so that you can no longer see the length of podcasts in your playlist queue. It sounds kind of petty, but I used that feature all the time to know if I had enough podcasts queued. The information is still there, but all you can read is one digit. Unfortunately, the player just stops playing for no reason and you have to type the play button twice. Other issues also on IOS. ### 2/5 — My Most Used App *2026-02-14, version 5.5.6* I have used this app every day since downloading it in 2016. It is by far my most used app. After a series of nonsensical updates I find myself considering alternatives. The app will just stop playing a podcast. It’ll just stop. The one thing it should do, it’ll just stop doing. This is a five star app with a two star mindset. ### 4/5 — It's good *2026-02-02, version 5.5.6* Shuts down during a call and resumes afterward. It's not loud enough to hear without 'phones in many situations, but I guess that's Apple's fault. ### 4/5 — Was great… *2026-01-26, version 5.5.6* I stopped my subscription. I used to love it, but recent bugs made me think it was worth the cost, so for now just using the iOS Podcast app. ### 2/5 — Purchased this years ago, was great. But has something gone wrong with the search function? Now when I search for podcast titles the app find only about 2 out of 10 that I search. There are so many podcasts that I want to listen to, but simply can’t find within the app. I’m close to moving to a different app, that I don’t want to have to do! But if it can’t find the podcasts that I want to listen to, I don’t have any other choice. Help! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Was… Favourite Podcast app! *2026-07-08, version 5.5.11* Edit. I don’t mind adverts. But you need to make sure you don’t use an advert supplier that links to viruses and malware. I’ve tried all of the big Podcast apps and this is by far my favourite. Has all of the features I need. Most importantly the audio compression feature - because podcast creators don’t seem to know how to balance sound this is essential for me. Also allowing what order to sort podcasts in! Great. ### 1/5 — It is gone now *2026-07-04, version 5.5.11* This app was dropping the feed steadily. And complaining about how hard it had to work tracking ALL those podcasts and episodes! My wife’s phone has the default Apple app and it doesn’t complain, doesn’t drop the feed, has as many podcasts, and uses only about 40% as much storage. ### 1/5 — a bunch of my podcasts disappeared *2026-05-19, version 5.5.10* I can’t even add them back ### 1/5 — Pourquoi l’appli est vide ?? *2026-04-19, version 5.5.10* J’utilise cette appli depuis longtemps et depuis 2 semaines elle est vide ??? ### 1/5 — Oh no! Porn sites being advertised. Disgusting and repulsive. *2026-01-18, version 5.5.6* I reviewed this player and now must change my review. The advertising is obnoxious and when I see porn site advertising the app automatically gets the “delete” treatment. Been using the app for years. Disgusting, repulsive, and sad. ### 1/5 — This app is suddenly shoveling garbage at me. It also removed my paid upgrade. Was better before. *2025-12-06, version 5.5.6* I used to love this app. It worked as a podcast player lean and mean. Now it keeps recommending podcasts to me and it took away my paid upgrade to remove ads. I liked the limited functionality before. This “upgrade “ does nothing. They are not even podcasting 2.0 compliant. Why change and not upgrade the back end. Don’t waste your time. ### 1/5 — A great player that recently got bad *2025-11-29, version 5.5.6* I’ve used this player for years. But the last update has introduced strange problems. The ‘saved playback’ doesn’t work and now the podcasts routinely resume 15m or more previous to where I last listened to it. And on top of that, now the podcasts just randomly pause and I’m forced to pickup my phone again and resume playback. It’s strange and annoying and very disappointing for an app I’ve used for so long with no issue until lately. ### 1/5 — Crashes constantly now *2025-11-08, version 5.5.6* This was my go to app for pods for a long time now. Recent updates have made overall stability simply worse and worse as the app just crashes after a minute or two on an IPhone 16 plus and repeat installs. ### 1/5 — Fell off this year *2025-11-08, version 5.5.6* This was my go-to podcast app for years for many of the reasons other users have posted. However the most recent update has made this app borderline unusable. Playback stops suddenly for no reason multiple times per day, menus disappear or crash constantly. Hopefully it can be fixed. ### 1/5 — No app support, NO SOLUTIONS! *2025-10-20, version 5.5.6* Once again, no app support. After last update I was unable to import my own mp3 files. Wich has been what I used this app for for several years now. They responded this time, asked me questions I answered then NOTHING. Months and months have gone by and not so much as an app update till now, only that one issue I waited months to be fixed is still there. So I eventually had to find another app and what was once my most used daily hourly fav app, has now been moved to the lost cause pile. So sad. **they say this issue has been resolved with latest update, THATS A LIE. RSS Radio even allows to download YouTube video channels by creating an rss link on podsync.net. The app is well maintained and continuously updated. Featuring great functionalities like “silence skip” to blank out idle moments on a podcast Have been using the paid version of RSS Radio for several years and more than 3000 hours of podcast. Sadly the latest update has killed it. Just quits back to Home Screen on opening now, even after deleting and reinstalling. Resorting to Apple’s native podcast player now. Hopefully they’ll fix it soon but been a good few days and no fix. Using IPhone X/10. Update: a good few days later, still crashing out, still no fix 😢 Ahh, this used to be developed by a very competent and conscientious individual, but looks like it has been acquired by a larger app company now. I imagine this will be the end of frequent and useful updates and the introduction of bugs and intrusive monetisation. Shame, hope they paid him well for his outstanding work, but I imagine this will be the death of another good app. Still no update to fix this. Developer response says get latest version…I have that. They also say go to the settings in the app to get help…lol, the app closes before I can navigate anywhere to do that.
