That was sneaky and poor transparency. I paid because the app has served me well over the years. But be better with transparency, I don’t shaky behaviour ### 3/5 — One Issue *2026-05-10* I like this app a lot! Just on a mini screen, the fact that the ad bar‘s space keeps coming back after I paid to remove it is trouble. No ads in it, just a black bar, but means a lot on these smaller phones. Unfortunately a nasty bug has the “now playing” bar at the bottom gets taller the longer it is open/when returning to it after the phone has been locked, to where I (on a smaller iPhone) have to hard close/reboot the app, which gets to be a little too much. It correctly generates chapters when timestamps appear as 01:20, but fails when they are formatted as (01:20) or [01:20]. This is especially frustrating because, unlike other podcast apps, you cannot tap timestamps in the description to jump to the corresponding chapter. ### 2/5 — Good… *2025-10-09* …when it works, but constantly crashes for me, even after a factory reset. ### 3/5 — Bug in downloads list. *2025-08-15, version 25.8.0* You cannot sort by priority. Majority of the buttons are not even labelled properly to work with VoiceOver and when I want to add a radio station on the application it freezes then I have to exit the application I am running iPhone X version 16.7.11 iOS. Can you please fix the problems for a blind customer. If you want my money could you please fix the buttons so I can at least understand by using VoiceOver what the application is sent to me thank you ### 4/5 — nice app, somewhat cluttered UI — still good *2025-07-25* I’m looking for something to replace PocketCasts. This has some really nice UI features like a tiny grid, custom feed refreshing, etc. Finishing stuff in the sittings can be a little annoying at first, but you’ll get used to it. Sadly, no silence skipping yet. ### 3/5 — After 1.5 yr of daily use, i must find alternative *2025-07-17* This isnt inherently a bad app. My immense disappointment is rather from the fact that I'm unable to continue enjoying this app as I had for soo long. I could go very very deep into detail as to the root of my contempt, but I am literally unable to without it causing my blood to boil. For the developer, I will attempt to sum up a couple of small features in the design that have basically caused me to lose over a years worth of collecting, organizing and tweaking my podcasts, in literally a matter of seconds due to clumsy fingers. 1.) The download vs stream ambiguity has been the bane of my existence in this app, which i have only learned to cope with by reluctantly getting used to systematically goin into advanced settings to delete the catch 1 to 3 times per hour that Im listening. Failing to do so fills up my phone with 20+ gb in a matter of hours, and this is with literally all downloading features disabled and this being proven by none ever occupying my downloads list. So what is all the catch data? I have no idea, i emailed dev about this over a year ago and they basically said they didnt understand what i was complaining about. This brings me to how my worst fear came true tonight. 2.) the dev elected to put a nuke button in settings that just strait permanently resets all settings and customizations, and it is right under the clear catch button and cannot be disabled. Pretty frequently I tap it by mistake and the "are you sure?" box emerges. But for the first time, I accidentally clicked yes. All 500+ of my podcasts organization system priority level, display options, auto-playlist population, poof. Vanished. ### 4/5 — Great but… *2025-06-12, version 25.6.0* Favorite podcast app, does everything I need and more, but syncing between devices (iOS and Android in particular) has been hit and miss for me. ### 4/5 — Multi purpose and functional *2025-04-08* Very unique podcast app. Friendly UI. 2 things are missing for me and I hope the developers will add someday; 1. I can’t Airplay my video podcast feed to my Apple TV nor my Airplay TV. Only the audio will. 2. I can’t navigate the app while playing a video podcast. It will automatically pause. You can use this link https://testflight.apple.com/join/y8zpsf0p to join the beta program in the App Store and then update to the latest version to get this feature now. ### 3/5 — Won’t show all my subscriptions *2025-01-06* I’ve used this app for around 8 years and has found it to be my favorite, until recently. Something happened and it suddenly stopped showing many of my subscriptions in my feed. I can search them, but that’s difficult when you have 250+ subscriptions and can’t remember every one. I deleted the app and redownloaded it, only it lost literally 100 of my subscriptions If fixed I’ll go back to 5 stars **Developer response:** Thanks for your bug report. This bug has been fixed in the latest app version. This is a little critical as it takes away a third of screen free button options. I can’t even collapse the side blue bar and view the podcast artwork. There’s no skip and the controls just show a solid green or blue background not even the podcast artwork. I’m going back to apples podcasts. This is a terrible switch ### 1/5 — Auto download filters are always ignored *2025-08-15* My playlists are constantly full of things I’ve actively attempted to filter out. I’m not sure if it’s smart downloads overriding my auto download settings or just the filters never being applied. There’s no support contact option so I’m left leaving a negative review until this is fixed. All I can do in the app is report a bug if and only if I use the default mail app, which I don’t. **Developer response:** If you have 'Add to selected playlists' option enabled then all the new episodes will be added to the playlists and get downloaded if the playlist has 'Download episode' option enabled as well. ### 1/5 — This app has the same bugs for eternity *2025-04-12* Edit 2: yes you do, and since you never resolved the issue I simply got rid of your app. Edit with response: iOS isn’t the problem- your app is. Audio and expected features are okay, not very user-friendly. I’m deleting it because of suspicious activity on my phone. Ever since I installed it, I got frequent “In-app purchases not allowed” alerts: every time I started the app fresh and several times when it wasn’t even open. After deleting it? No such problems. I’m glad I had purchases disabled because who knows what was being attempted. I have both iOS and android and this seems to be only on iOS. Otherwise great app ### 2/5 — Problems after update *2025-11-21* **Edit: the fast forward/rewind issue has resolved. But now my ability to browse or search for podcasts is completely bricked. Clicking the little binocular icon at the top takes me to a list of categories with no content. Searches yield zero results. Installing the latest update does not fix the issue.** Latest update has taken away my ability to choose which buttons I see. Either that or it has been buried so deep in the settings that I can’t find it anymore. Very, very annoying considering the best feature of this app has always been the user’s ability to customize the display to our individual preferences. Now I have 9 different buttons on my screen when I only need 3 of them. Latest update has also caused playback issues. After listening to a couple of episodes, the fast forward/rewind buttons stop working. So I have to force close. Then when I reopen, the episode starts playing from the beginning for a few seconds before it “remembers” that I’m halfway through the episode. These things seem minor but I drive for a living & I can’t be fooling around with an app while my eyes should be on the road. So now I just can’t use this player anymore while driving. **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. The fast forward/rewind buttons stop working after a few seconds issue seems to be a bug. Will look into it and fix it asap. When using this app with CarPlay, please make sure you have this app started this app on the CarPlay instead of using the 'Now playing' app to start the playback. It’s like the Marvis of podcast app - I love that it’s a one time purchases to remove ads and all the features (like custom skip intro skip outro options) I like from annoying paid subscription app are just inherent to this one. I also love now customizable everything is as well. I have a lot of RSS patreon feeds and being able to edit podcast titles and artwork makes it so easy to keep organized. Most underrated feature is the lock timeline bar - the amount of times I’ve accidentally skipped 30 minutes ahead in a podcast should be criminal and this prevents that. My only tweak is I wish I could see all my playlists laid out in the grid pattern like the normal podcast screen (if that IS a view feature, let me know lol I absolutely could have missed that) but that is only minor compared to how much I love every other aspect of the app. ### 5/5 — Excellent App *2026-05-01* Having an application that allows you to listen to a multiplicity of feeds and have the look and feel of a podcast that is a terrific idea. The interface is clean and highly customizable. I love the smart speed and volume boost features, which make listening so efficient. The automatic download for my favorite shows over Wi-Fi is flawless. It's stable, powerful, and the developer is incredibly responsive to feedback. A must-have for any podcast listener! I have tried every podcast app I could find and podcast republic is the only option that meets my needs without an expensive subscription. Podcast republic also has an impressive level of customization per podcast which is really helpful.
