Podcat 3 is the German podcast reference.
You are looking for a Podcatcher that supports Podlove, can display any kind of chapter markers and also offers some special features especially for the German speaking community?

Then you are right with the Podcat 2.

The Podcat can have different speeds per podcast and has a sleep timer. Episodes can be sorted manually and played accordingly. You can sort podcasts into groups or use automatic groups with search options.

For all podcasts, there are a variety of settings that will make your everyday life easier.

New episodes are automatically searched for and downloaded in the background. You decide whether to attach them to the playlist or play them directly next.

### 2/5 — App sieht gut aus, aber…

Eine Funktion, die ich als Castro-Wechsler sehr vermisse, ist es Podcast individuell zur Wiedergabeliste hinzu zufügen. 

Das UI in den Einstellungen bei „automatische Vorgänge“ -> Wiedergabeliste sieht so aus, als sollte es gehen, ich bekomme es aber nicht eingestellt. Ich habe auch keine Möglichkeit gefunden, irgendwo Support zu bekommen. Für App-Preis UND Subskription sollte irgendwo wenigstens nen bugtracker zu finden sein.

**Developer response:** Hallo, es gibt eine Webseite mit Kontakt, es gibt ein Slack und außerdem noch Twitter und Email. 

Die gesuchte Funktion ist direkt am Podcast zu finden. Die Option in den Einstellungen ist derzeit defekt, Korrektur folgt noch diese Woche zusammen mit einer brandneuen WatchApp. 

Aber danke für den Tonfall und die 2 Sterne.

Die App kostet 5,99 € und beim zweiten Start der App wird dann ein jährliches Abo von 9,99 € gefordert, ohne das die App nicht mehr funktioniert. Das ist aus meiner Sicht mindestens grenzwertig.

**Developer response:** Mir war nicht bewusst dass Apple die Preisumstellung nicht ganz vollzogen hat. App sollte nichts kosten außer das Abo. Gib die App einfach zurück und hole sie dir erneut. Habe den Kaufpreis reduziert auf die üblichen 0€

Über Jahre war Castro die Podcast-App meiner Wahl, nachdem Castro aber eingestellt wird ist Podcat aber ein sehr guter Ersatz. Es verfolgt ähnliche Bedienkonzepte und funktioniert flüssiger und stabiler, insbesondere was CarPlay anbelangt. Ein paar Funktionen vermisse ich aber noch: Trim Silence gibt es noch nicht und bei Castro konnte man die Playlist per Drag and Drop sortieren.

Leider wird das Telefon bei Benutzung sehr war und zieht dementsprechend binnen kurzer Zeit den Akku leer. Das ist wahnsinnig schade, denn die App bietet eine sehr gutes Gesamtpaket: 
 Kapitelmarken werden unterstützt, bzw. automatische Kapitelmarken gesetzt (alle 5 Minuten), frei einstellbare Sleeptimer, Shownotes, Favoritenmarkierung, Abo eines Podcasts lässt sich pausieren, fein justierbare Lautstärke in der App, dunkles Theme und viele weitere kleine Sachen, von denen ich nicht wusste, dass ich sie brauche, die meinen Podcastkonsum aber unterstützen. Bitte weiter so!

### 1/5 — Leider seid iOS 16 nicht mehr zu gebrauchen

Auch vorher stürzte die App sehr oft ab. Aber jetzt mit iOS 16 stürzt sie noch öfter ab, spielt nicht mehr die nächste Episode in der Liste ab, lädt die Liste der neuesten Episoden nicht mehr ohne mindestens drei mal zu crashes und wenn man nebenbei versucht noch was zu bedienen reagiert nichts oder stürzt wieder ab. Schade. Ich würde auch für eine funktionierende und gut gepflegte Version monatlich oder jährlich bezahlen, aber so wie sie gerade läuft ist es für einen power User unzumutbar.

Sehr guter Player für Audio-Podcast mit (sehr) vielen Optionen!
Ich vermisse leider eine Trim-Silence-Funktionalität und ein „Voice Enhancing“ wäre schön.

1-Stern Abzug wegen folgenden Punkten:
Abspielgeschwindigkeiten >2x sind nicht zu gebrauchen, da die gesprochenen Sätze fragmentiert und Teile ausgelassen werden. Das bekommen andere Player viel natürlicher und damit besser hin.
Aktualisiert die App die Podcast Feeds ist die App nicht mehr zu bedienen. Versucht man es trotzdem crashed die App in ca. 90%. Nach dem öffnen startet die Aktualisierung sofort wieder und man muss sich bis zum Ende gedulden.

Seit der neuen Version stürzt die App sehr oft ab. Bin ein großer Fan aber das nervt leider. Und die Dropbox lässt sich nicht mehr verknüpfen. Ich drücke auf den zulassen Button auf der Dropbox Page aber dann passiert einfach nichts mehr.

Ich bin begeistert. Diese App ist richtig gut durchdacht, und man merkt dass die Entwicklerin sehr viel Herzblut hineingesteckt hat. Der Preis ist voll gerechtfertigt und für die gebotenen Features dürfte sie m.M. nach sogar etwas mehr kosten.. volle Empfehlung!
