## Newest reviews (15 of 65)

### 3/5 — Mind of its own

*2024-07-22, version 2021.11*

I enjoy the interface 75% of the time; the other 25%, it doesn't load properly!

### 3/5 — Good App, But Missing Podcasts

*2022-05-20, version 2021.11*

It’s a good app, but:
- can’t find all podcasts that you can in other apps (like in Google Podcasts).
- also weird that the cover arts for some podcasts is different than what it is in other podcast apps.

### 3/5 — Good idea, underdeveloped

*2021-08-11*

The interface of this app doesn’t make a ton of sense to me. How am I supposed to find new people to follow? Why can’t I give negative feedback? I feel like this has so much potential to be a cool space to actually discuss podcasts with nuance but right now it’s pretty limiting and using it is not a super rewarding experience. :/

### 3/5 — Minor issue, but overall love!

*2020-11-11*

I really like this app for finding podcasts and creating playlists to share with friends. However, I’m finding if I don’t listen to an entire episode in one sitting - it doesn’t save the spot where I paused the podcast and I spend so much time trying to find where I left off! If they can fix this bug, totally 5 star app!

### 3/5 — room for improvement

*2020-09-23*

a bit buggy. could improve interface slightly but nice app overall

### 4/5 — can’t wait to see where this goes 🌟

*2020-07-15*

i really love this podcast tracker! ❣️
i would love to use this app as my main way of listening to podcasts but when i refresh the new episodes, i don’t get ALL of the new episodes which is a bummer. i would also love push notifications for new episodes!

### 5/5 — Love the app

*2020-03-16*

I’m loving the social vibe and all of the great recommendations. I’m discovering a lot of new podcasts from different genres. Keep up the great work! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Update: The app is getting better and better each update. I’m in love!!

### 5/5 — Very useful for discovering and joining communities around podcasts

*2020-02-07, version 3.15*

I love this app! I love the recommendations and making friends around podcasts I like.

### 5/5 — The Goodreads/Letterboxd for Podcasts

*2020-01-03, version 3.13*

Great concept - meeting a need for avid podcast enthusiasts. A team that is clearly in it to make this a welcoming, fun community! Love it.

### 5/5 — Very helpful site!

*2019-12-30, version 3.13*

I just heard about this today , and am already finding it really helpful in organizing my podcasts and interests.

### 5/5 — So much potential

*2019-10-07, version 3.9*

Such a great platform to share favorite podcasts with your friends and family.

### 5/5 — A delightful app!

*2019-07-10, version 3.0.3*

I can honestly say Podyssey scratches an itch I’ve had for some time — an app-agnostic community where I can review my newest obsessions and my longtime favourites alike; a platform for discovering new shows and kindred spirits; and my own little nook to collect and curate my own podcast personality. Plus I love that they’re a Canadian company run by young POC. Looking forward to exploring it some more!

### 5/5 — Great podcast app!

*2019-06-21, version 3.0.3*

Such a great way to keep track of the podcasts and episodes that I really like, and to learn about new ones from the community.

Thanks for finally making this available for tablets so I can enter the reviews more easily with a keyboard!

### 5/5 — Best podcasts

*2019-06-14, version 3.0.2*

I have tried a few apps but this is by far the best app out there

### 5/5 — Share Fave Episodes & Launch Conversations

*2019-06-10, version 3.0.2*

“All my conversations revolve around podcasts lately,” said my friend. I couldn’t agree more & that’s why I’m so in love with Podyssey. I’ve been so frustrated at not being able to comment/review specific episodes on the Apple Podcast app - and Podyssey changes that. I am obsessed with sharing new podcast episodes and most of all - I love adding my personal notes/thoughts/insights so I can keep track of my key takeaways from each episode. I also appreciate seeing what friends listen to and recommend. Instead of receiving a random text or email about a new podcast, I can keep track of what they are listening to via Podyssey. Try the app AND desktop version!

### 1/5 — Good idea but no one is active

*2025-01-28, version 2021.11*

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2024-02-13, version 2021.11*

I have been waiting for episodes to download for days now. It’s no good having people recommend episodes when you can’t download them. It’s so bad it’s made me go back to Apple Podcasts

### 1/5 — Deceptive

*2022-07-01, version 2021.11*

I wanted podcast recommendations not a whole frickin’ social network

### 1/5 — Bad App

*2020-06-18, version 3.21*

This app would NOT play the podcast episodes! Every time I tried to play one it kept loading but wouldn’t play. I DO NOT recommend this app. I repeat DO NOT get this app!!

### 1/5 — Can’t get past import screen

*2017-12-06*

I have the same problem as a previous reviewer. Followed the import instructions except there is no listing for the echo app in the sharing/saving card/tray. Rather than leave a bad review over this I thought would try the support options except those don’t work either. Clicking the “app support” link here on the App Store install page takes you right back to the app where it is stuck on the import screen. Also tried clicking the “developer website “ link here and again same result. Taken right back to a non-functioning app with no way to proceed.

**Developer response:** Fixed! Please update to the latest version. I have also updated the App Store links to go to my website and no just open up the app. Thanks, Danny

### 1/5 — OPML export doesn’t work

*2017-12-05, version 1.9.1*

This might be a new iOS update issue, but OPML export - the only way to seed the app with data from an app that isn’t Apple Podcasts - doesn’t work, so you can’t advance to actually using the app. 🙁

### 1/5 — App isn’t showing up in “Export” list

*2017-12-05, version 1.9.1*

App isn’t showing up in “Export” list

### 2/5 — No longer easy to discover new stuff

*2019-09-09*

The main feature I used prior to this version was the tab that looked like the Safari icon where you could discover podcasts that had the most echoes, even if they weren’t echos from your friend/follow list. I never really got too social with the app. I never followed very many people. I only ever used it on long road trips to find interesting episodes. Otherwise, I don’t listen to podcasts. For my use case, that Safari tab was the only useful feature to me. It was quick and easy to find the best stuff. While the latest version looks great and has a lot more depth, navigating it is much more time consuming and it’s more difficult to find stuff you will like quickly without building a list of people to follow. I got frustrated pretty fast while perusing the “featured” aggregate lists and chose instead to put out a request on Facebook to ask for suggestions, a task for which my friend list came quickly through and gave me enough interesting material to keep me engaged during my trip.

My previous review of earlier an version (4/5):

Great way to discover new podcasts. I wish it was a bit better organized and easier to navigate. I usually try to get to the podcast to listen to it directly from Echo once I find one I think sounds interesting, but since it doesn’t go directly to the episode, I have to switch apps a couple times to get the exact episode name so I can scroll through and find it. When they changed the interface recently, I couldn’t figure out how to get to the podcast I wanted to listen to anymore, but they responded quickly to my previous review where I mentioned I couldn’t figure out how to get to the episode I wanted to listen to and gave me a couple options.

**Developer response:** Hey, the update was meant to make it easier to listen to the episode on your podcast player. Once you press the 'Add Episode' button, if you open up Apple Podcasts and go to the 'Listen Now' tab, it should be there ready for you to listen to it (you may have pull to refresh that screen so that the screen updates). Also, if you are on an Episode screen on Echo, tap the podcast artwork near the top of the screen, you will then go to the Podcast screen (which lists all the episodes of that podcast). This screen has an option to link you to the podcast directly in your podcast player. It doesn't directly go to the episode but should be a good start. Email me dan@echopodcasts.com if you need any further help.

### 2/5 — Seems like a great idea!...

*2017-12-07*

...If I could get it to work with Overcast, that is. I’m stuck not able to import from Overcast. I tapped “from 3rd party app”, watched the how to video, opened Overcast, found the “export opml” button, and tapped - only to find that neither “echo” nor “echo podcasts” is no where to be found in the list of apps to share to. It’s not even visible in either “...” section.

Particulars (hopefully the developer can figure out what’s wrong and issue an update):
iPhone 6s, iOS 11.1.2, Overcast 4.0.1.

**Developer response:** Fixed! Please update to the latest version. Thanks, Danny

### 2/5 — Like the idea but needs work

*2017-08-08, version 1.6.4*

Im taking the time to write a review so that's a good sign. That being said, some welcome improvements:

Landscape mode for iPad

Add to save list / echo via ios share card from my podcast app of choice

Performance improvements (kind of slow on my iPad air)

Adding notes to podcasts that I can search for
