### 2/5 — Too hard and needs to be nerfed

*2025-03-25, version 1.1.1*

The beginning is really hard and I still don’t get all the controls without getting blasted by the fat cat at the bottom and the fruits reset after like 3 seconds making it really hard even more for beginners, especially when there’s none of that fruit left around

### 3/5 — Unforgiving rng

*2025-02-02, version 1.1.1*

Great game on paper. But the fact that you constantly have to get fruit without getting hit. and without touching the floor is frustrating. I don’t want to replay the same mission 10 times. just to see more unique levels is just bad design. also levelling up in progression is just really slow. and enemies are just really annoying and get in the way.

### 4/5 — loses saves

*2024-10-04, version 1.1.0*

a perfect mobile game ... but had to ding it a star because this game constantly loses my game save. what the heck?

### 3/5 — Great Game. Update Wiped Save.

*2024-09-15, version 1.1.0*

Great game. The update notes are useless, canned blurbs, which makes it difficult to figure out which version wiped my end game save. I doubt it’s fixable at this point, so I’ll just move on.

### 2/5 — Poor controls and buggy

*2024-08-30, version 1.1.0*

I played the developer’s previous game Downwell on PC. That game was great and I got fairly far into it. Unfortunately I’m not enjoying Poinpy, mostly because of the poor controls on my iPad. Perhaps this was unavoidable for a touchscreen game, but why not release the game on PC as well? Still, I did try to get better at Poinpy as it was fun at times, up until I lost all my progress. At that point I gave up on the game.

### 3/5 — Lost my progress

*2024-08-29, version 1.1.0*

Very enjoyable game, but I opened the app and my progress had reset- Is there any way to get it back?

### 5/5 — Hidden gem

*2024-06-25, version 1.0.6*

Honestly I found this game just because I recognised the composer and heard the soundtrack from their Spotify. Little did I know that the game behind it was actually one of the best mobile platform era in recent time that I’ve played! It’s so cute and the fruit mixing makes the game so much more interesting than just any normal mobile game would! Not to mention how adorable the artstyle is! I went into this game completely blind with my only exposure to it being the music. I would recommend anyone else to do the same!

### 5/5 — Love this game!

*2024-05-23, version 1.0.6*

Poinpy poses a challenge while also being accessible and not frustrating; you still make progress via XP and unlocking new perks, even if you don’t get to the next area.

And damn it’s just really fun. I’m surprised more people don’t play this yet. Love the art style, music and sounds too.

### 5/5 — Masterpiece

*2024-04-24*

PLEASE update this game! It’s fantastic and has good mechanics anyone looking at this review just know you should definitely play this game. But I got the max rank so I would appreciate it if more ranks we’re added for a read to continue playing this game, other than that. PLAY. THIS. GAME.

### 4/5 — no cloud saves?

*2024-03-25*

top 10 iphone games for sure & i've been using iOS since the introduction of the app store. fantastic game, but are there no cloud saves? my progress is gone after having deleted the game & reinstalled it.

### 5/5 — Simply Addicting

*2024-01-04, version 1.0.6*

I just started playing the game again and man, it’s fun. POINPY is definitely one of my favorite Netflix games.

### 5/5 — Play Poinpy!!!

*2023-12-15*

This game is absolutely phenomenal, with a lot of hard work and care put into it by the developer. Would highly recommend picking it up, I played through to completion, got all the medals, and it was a blast!

(Also there’s a slight bug that’s making the fruits in the puzzle levels flicker for some reason, along with crashes every once in a while - may want to get that checked out)

### 5/5 — The downwell team does it again

*2023-12-05*

Masterfully tuned jumping and combo mechanics make this game incredibly satisfying to play. Could not recommend this enough if you enjoy Downwell or games with simple mechanics but surprisingly deep gameplay.

### 5/5 — i have more hours playing this game than most games in my steam library

*2023-11-22, version 1.0.5*

i think i have a problem. 5/5 would reccomend

### 5/5 — Ojiro Fumoto is a great game dev

*2023-09-30, version 1.0.5*

I would rate this masterpiece of a game overwhelmingly positive. It’s also super accessible and has no micro transactions or ads. Love it.

### 5/5 — One of the best iPhone games.

*2023-09-08*

I am on a quest to find some of the best iPhone games. This is definitely one of them. From the creator of Downwell, this game takes the fast paced, vertical scrolling action of Downwell and slows it down to a more manageable speed for people like me who just want a fun game to play on iPhone. The progression and satisfaction of just playing this game is so good, and you can feel the passion that went into making it. If you’re able to play this game, I highly suggest it. In addition, it has no micro transactions, which is always a huge plus when I download an app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Paywall

*2024-10-24, version 1.1.0*

Would love to even try it but you can't do anything without logging in to netflix

### 1/5 — Amazing Game - Update Wiped Progress

*2024-08-30, version 1.1.0*

I love this game, I love this game designer. I was level 8-or-so, and just today or yesterday I updated the app. Now I open it and I’m back at the tutorial, with all my progress gone. This is really frustrating and simply inexcusable.

### 1/5 — Lost Save Data

*2024-08-29, version 1.1.0*

I absolutely love this game, but found that all my save data had been reset. No idea why it’s gone or how to get it back. Genuinely sad, this game has reminded me what it was like to play early phone games.

### 1/5 — game keeps crashing

*2023-09-20*

basically what the title says, i downloaded the game a few days ago and tried opening the app to play it but it just got stuck on the netflix logo perpetually until it crashed when i tried to close and open the app again. tried talking to netflix's support center where they gave me multiple potential fixes but none of them did the trick, and i ended up needing to send them a video of the crash happening so they could fix the bug. it's been days since i submitted that video and not only have i not heard back from them, but my app still does not work as well which is such a shame because from what i've seen this game is really fun. hope they can fix this.

### 1/5 — App does not work

*2023-04-05, version 1.0.5*

App does not start on iPhone 13 Pro, stuck on the loading screen with the large Netflix logo.

### 1/5 — PLEASE READ‼️⚠️⚠️This game is a scam and will steal your social security number

*2023-04-01, version 1.0.5*

This game says the game data saves between Netflix accounts but on my other phone and same Netflix account it’s restarted my hard earned data when I switched phones please do not scam Netflix!!!!!!!

### 1/5 — Game is broken and crashes on launch

*2023-01-13, version 1.0.5*

I’m using an iPhone XS, and when opening the game it immediately shows a pop up that says an error occurred. I can’t actually play the game, please fix this.

### 1/5 — Impossible to get through Poinpy part

*2022-12-25, version 1.0.5*

I keep dying and I can’t figure out why. I think I’ve followed instructions to the letter.

### 1/5 — Will not launch on my iPhone SE 2020

*2022-09-02, version 1.0.5*

ERROR in action number 1 of Async Event: Social for object oNetflixControl. Unable to add a number to string. gml_Object_oNetflixControl_Other_70 (line 21)

### 1/5 — No progress sync

*2022-08-12, version 1.0.5*

Says progress is tied to profile but accessing the same profile on a second device starts you at the beginning

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Why are you guys getting rid of it???

*2025-05-14*

One of the best games I’ve ever played, but why are you getting rid of it??? Will it be playable, just not on the Netflix app?
I guess we’ll see :/

### 5/5 — Needs a scoreboard

*2025-04-18, version 1.1.1*

I absolutely love this game, I completed the main game in only a few days as I enjoyed the gameplay so much. My only complaints are that there aren’t more puzzle levels and that there isn’t (to my knowledge) a scoreboard to keep track of my high scores

### 5/5 — Great game

*2025-02-25, version 1.1.1*

Wonderful mobile game. Deserves your time and praise.

### 5/5 — One of the best mobile games ever

*2024-12-25*

I’ve played Poinpy through three times, and I’m sure I will play it many more times in my life. Every 9-12 months I get the itch to play it again. Its so fun and its a shame its not more well known, probably due to being on netflix games, which many people overlook. Games like Downwell get a ton of love, as they deserve, but I’d play Poinpy 100 times before picking up Downwell again. Thats how good it is, cannot recommend enough.

### 5/5 — Fumoto does it again

*2024-11-12, version 1.1.0*

He’s 3/3; better than Joe DiMaggio

### 5/5 — I NEED MORE

*2024-10-23*

I mean do I need to explain that much, look at the guy. I’m a big fan of rouge-like games and this one is almost a 10/10 I just feel it’s a bit repetitive at the end. Other than that it’s an amazing game with a outta this world sound track. So please, PLEASE make another one.

### 5/5 — best game in the world

*2024-08-31, version 1.1.0*

game data reset from the last update but it's ok cause it means i get to play poinpy again

### 5/5 — So cool and cute

*2024-08-29*

The game serves its purpose and then doubles its value. The final round is a little bit meh based on the actual build up to get there, though. The game is definitely quite hard, don't get me wrong, but it's not the "frustratingly-hard" level.

And I love the jumping effects, so cute. :)

### 5/5 — My save data was deleted

*2024-08-29, version 1.1.0*

Soooooooo, I updated the game and it completely reset my game. I do really like the game but is that fixable?

### 5/5 — Favourite game

*2024-07-08, version 1.0.6*

I played a ton of Downwell to the point where I had started speedrunning it, and I like this even more. It’s so so satisfying and love how the hitboxes for stomping enemies and getting hit/collecting unwanted fruits are so forgiving, which I thought was a slight issue in Downwell. The concept of the “minute heart” is also brilliant and should be put in like every game.

I only have two criticisms and they are pretty minor. When using the football elemental you bounce off of enemies in a random direction which can be planned for, but I do find a little frustrating and I wish it just always went in the direction you are facing. The other thing is when setting an average in endless mode, your average doesn’t reset when changing your amount of jump orbs; meaning you can rack up a really high average using an amount of jump orbs that’s more effective, then switch back and it still counts your previous combos which kind of feels like cheating.

Overall though I would strongly recommend this game, I think it might be my favourite phone game I’ve ever played.
