I setup a local computer-to-computer network on my MacBook and then connected to it using the wifi connection on my iPhone 5. Everyone was amazed how I controlled the ppt from my iPhone. Do not buy the iclickr app; it's 10x the price of this one. The Pointer is great and you are able to walking around face the audience and be confident you are highlighting the right area. The goal was to get them to use my product in their training school. I purchased pointer for my Mac and iPad one week before the presentation. I tried it out and had one issue with the next screen display not working. I sent an email to tech support and they were back to me within a few hours. Turned out I didn't know how to read instructions and it worked fine. When I made the presentation, it was in a high tech classroom with the display above and behind me with a mirrored display on my podium. There was no way to use either a physical pointer or a laser pointer. I used a cross hair loop pointer as the custom pointer on the iPad and was able to see what I was pointing to on the mirrored display while still facing the audience. It worked flawlessly and they ended up agreeing to feature my product in their school. The folks giving this low ratings must be using the pc version because I had no issues with the Mac version. My only criticism would be the appearance of the program could use a little polish. ### 5/5 — It works! *2012-03-31, version 2.0* This is exactly what I was looking for. At times it drops the connection but the best way to guarantee a connection is to create a network on your MacBook and connect your iPad to that network.
