Why? Because it takes FOREVER TO LOAD. AND what does this app even do?! When it EVENTUALLY loads, all that pops up is a sticker for Mewtwo! I’m not saying this app is bad but it could definitely use some work. I see a lot of potential in this app. Bye! ### 3/5 — Rating is weird *2021-06-15, version 1.0.6* It says 4+ but you have to be 13 to login to an account. I just find this a bit weird and I don’t know why there is an age limit. ### 2/5 — Unbelievably bad *2021-02-10, version 1.0.4* I’ve been stuck on the same loading screen for twenty minutes I didn’t even get to use the app. I’ve tried reinstalling, resetting my phone, and anything else I could think of and still nothing but that dang loading screen. Update: I finally got it to work using the airplane mode trick but it’s still insane that I have to resort to that a year after the app’s been up this is something that should have been fixed long ago. ### 4/5 — Help *2021-01-16, version 1.0.4* I made a account and when I try to log in i need to verify it, and when I send the email it doesn’t show up? Deleted/reinstalled the app numerous times, but problem still occurs. When the app first launched it seemed like a fun concert, but truthfully not much is done with it. If it wasn’t for Nintendo reminder emails, I probably never touch this app since rewards are kind of limited. Hopefully they’ll fix this severe bug soon so many of us can get the Halloween event shinnies before it ends next month. ### 1/5 — Poor quality *2019-10-31, version 1.0.4* I can’t really even tell you much about the app. Because I can’t get past the login in screen. I try and try to sign up and it will not accept any of my email addresses. I am creating a brand new account. How exactly is there a problem with an email I have never used with this service before? My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. ### 2/5 — Won’t open the camera *2019-10-30, version 1.0.4* I went to Gamestop today for the Shiny Solgaleo and Shiny Lunala event, but the Pokémon pass app won’t prompt me to open the camera in the application. This is a big issue that needs to be fixed, because I can’t get these once and done Pokémon. And what’s the point of having an application that won’t work. ### 1/5 — Fails to load fails to open *2019-10-29, version 1.0.4* I had it during the Target event, in which it worked. Since then it has never updated for new events. It only said that there were no new events. When I deleted the app and downloaded it again, it would not open. According to bulbapedia, there was a “trade & play day” event back in August, but that never showed up in my app. If this app will only only be utilized for 2 events a year, then what’s the point? ### 3/5 — Ok... *2019-08-13, version 1.0.3* So I go to Game Stop and hear about something about trading your cards in the 17th. And IM ALL ABOUT POKÉMON. I go on the website and download this like it recommended and EVERY SINGLE TIME I PUT IN MY EMAIL IT SAYS SOMETHING IS WRONG ABOUT IT! I double check it, and it’s right BUT, it still says that it is WRONG. Like WTH! I just wanna sign in for the 17th! I know you might can’t fix it but PLEASE TRY! POKÉMON is my life! I spent days and weeks to watch each show and movie of POKÉMON. Doesn’t let me login and says it’s the wrong password. Definitely not typing anything in wrong! I have confirmed this by resetting the password to the same exact password which it said I was not allowed to do. Low and behold the password doesn’t allow me to log in and now my account is locked! Been the same way for years now!!!! POKÉMON HAS BECOME A USELESS COMPANY BRAIN DEAD COMPANY FULL OF IDIOTS ### 1/5 — Took forever to sync *2021-04-11, version 1.0.6* This app is horrible. I had to reset my trainer club password because the app locked me out of my account (thought my account didn’t exist) and when I finally get all that done and head to GameStop the app wouldn’t operate. It couldn’t figure out I was in the building. From other reviews and forums this app was horrid from day one but I wanted the toxtricity event so against better judgement I get the app only for it to fail multiple times in a row. I pray gamefreak doesn’t use this format for their events anymore and removes this app as it basically functions as a poor mans pokemon snap (barely). I’d rather have my events done through internet or cards preferably both so those who don’t have access to physical locations for cards can still get events via internet. Please destroy this app🙏 ### 1/5 — Unable to scan QR codes *2021-03-27, version 1.0.6* I had this app when it first came out around when Detective Pikachu came out. No problem scanning QR codes and seeing the completed tasks. Now that functionality is gone and the completed tasks are gone. The app is useless. Couldn’t redeem a free Pokémon I saw at a local GameStop. Will see what Suport has to say. ### 1/5 — This app has nothing. *2020-11-01, version 1.0.4* There was one event last August that was cancelled. Before that, the last event I can think of was in 2019. Nothing notable ever shows up on this app, if anything at all. Every day you open it, you will be greeted by a screen that reads "More activities coming soon!" But nothing ever comes. And now that Pokemon Home is out, it's only a matter of time before this app is officially abandoned. Right now it's only unofficially abandoned. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2020-05-13, version 1.0.4* I love Pokémon and all, but this app doesn’t work at all. It doesn’t load, and the one time it did it kept telling me my account information was incorrect even though I know it was. Can y’all please fix this? I missed out on the shiny Solgaleo and Lunala distribution because the app wouldn’t work, and I definitely don’t want to miss out on more event distributions in the future. ### 1/5 — Needs working on *2019-11-27, version 1.0.4* The concept is pretty good based on the description on the official Pokémon site- otherwise this app needs fixing. There are little features or reason to keep the app on my phone at all. I guess I’m just waiting for some major update to come in that fixes everything. I’m not able to scan any of or at the very least import a photo I’ve taken of my QR codes. It’s really just missing a lot of stuff that it claims to offer (at least on my app) Please fix so I can eventually re-evaluate with a better rating... 👏 ### 1/5 — Do not log out! *2019-11-17, version 1.0.4* If you log out of your trainer account from the app and log back in, you lose all data of codes and stickers you collected. Time spent going to stores I don’t normally shop at during specific days wasted all because the app couldn’t warn me my data would be lost if I logged out. ### 1/5 — Comepelted Events, Can’t Obtain Codes *2019-11-14, version 1.0.4* The events so far using the app has been easy going. The only issue is when redeeming the codes where I was not able to redeem codes for 2/3 events though the event is posted as complete. If this is the kind of thing that will be commonplace on this app, I won’t use it again and wouldn’t recommend it ### 1/5 — Couldn’t get legendary because of confusing date *2019-11-11, version 1.0.4* They should have the end date as the last date to get the Pokémon. The Shiny Solgeo and Shiny Lunala event ends on Nov. 11th, so personally it should still be available on Nov. 11th. It should expire Nov. 12th instead when it’s listed like this. Please make it available until the end date and I’ll change my review. ### 1/5 — Nothing good about it *2019-11-11, version 1.0.4* First off, I had no idea this app existed until I was trying to receive a pokemon from a distribution. After trying to figure out how to get the pokemon for a bit an employee informed me of the app. I have very limited data and the free internet wasn’t good enough to even load the app store. I went home to try and figure it out. After downloading the app, I set it up with my trainer account and it asked to read the updated terms of service. There was a box to check accepting to receive e-mail notifications from pokemon. I intentionally did not check this box as I absolutely do not want them sending e-mails to me as I already use other methods of keeping track new and upcoming events. A message came up telling me that receiving these e-mails is required to use the app. At this point I decided I would just use it for the one distribution and the get rid of the app because I didn’t want to deal with that. I then found out that I had to use the location services on my phone to get the pokemon distribution to work. I decided to see what else the app could do and on it’s own the only thing you can do is get “stickers” you can use to take photos with. That is all. And this is how they plan to do pokemon distributions in the future. I checked the reviews I advise sorting by recency. Wrote to tech and they said it was user error but no one in my area can make it work ### 5/5 — Easy App. Don’t Believe Reviews. *2019-05-07, version 1.0.1* I was a little hesitant on using after reading the reviews, but Pokémon is something I always gotta be a part of, so I tried the app. To be honest, the log-in is not a problem. Just follow the steps, and you’ll be good. It just needs you to sign into your Pokémon Trainer account on the Pokémon website, then approve the terms and conditions. After all that, Pokémon Pass will allow you to sign in and receive the rewards. That’s all, and it didn’t take me long to figure that all out.
