## What is PokerMates?

PokerMates is the all-in-one social poker game organizer. Create groups, schedule games, track buy-ins and cash-outs, settle up, and keep the stats — all in one app.

Key Features:

• Sign In Your Way — Get started fast with Google, Apple, or Facebook, or email and password. A magic link signs you back in if you ever forget your password.

• Group Management — Create and manage poker groups, invite players by email or from contacts, add local guests, and organize recurring game nights.

• Join by QR Code or Link — Share one QR code or link that adds someone to your group, or brings them to a single game as a one-time guest. Scan codes in the app, or print a one-page game flyer with the join code on it.

• Game Tracking — Set up games with custom buy-ins, RSVP as Going, Maybe, or Not Going, track buy-ins and cash-outs in real time, and auto-generate seating charts — with optional family-aware tables.

• Multi-Table Nights — Split a big turnout across two or more tables. Each table keeps its own totals and settles within itself, while the grand totals stay balanced.

• Spoken Announcements — Optional text-to-speech reads each buy-in and cash-out aloud to the table so nobody misses one, backed by sound and haptic cues you can switch on or off.

• Smart Settlements — Automatically calculate who owes whom after each game. Two-way confirmation means the payer marks it sent and the receiver confirms receipt. Deep-link straight into Venmo or PayPal with the amount pre-filled.

• Settle Hub & Group Balances — One Settle tab gathers every open balance across all of your groups, viewed by group or by game with a running total, and each group keeps its own Outstanding Balances view. Rows read plainly — "You owe Bob", "Alice owes you" — with inline actions to open Venmo or PayPal, mark as paid, confirm received, or snooze. Anything left too long is flagged with a friendly reminder.

• Scan to Pay — Show a QR code for your Venmo or PayPal handle and let the other player scan it, with the amount already filled in on their side.

• Notifications Inbox — An in-app inbox with an unread badge keeps settlement and food-order alerts together, with the actions you need right on the card.

• House Rules & Shot Clock — Set house rules from 25+ built-in options across etiquette, betting, showdown, and gameplay — including a shot clock for slow players. Add custom rules, override them per game, and share the rulebook via WhatsApp or email.

• Detailed Statistics — Win rates, profit and loss trends, streaks, biggest wins, group leaderboards, and interactive charts. Filter by week, month, or year and export to CSV or JSON.

• Predictions — Inside each group, predict who will finish in the top three, then compete with friends on prediction accuracy.

• Game Moments — Capture memorable hands with photos during games. Tag big pots, bluffs, and bad beats with color-coded badges; full-screen gallery with swipe and zoom.

• Food Orders — Coordinate game-night food with a shared order link and dietary preferences, plus a tracker that shows at a glance who has ordered, who hasn't, and who is still a maybe.

• Chip Calculator — Configure chip denominations, then count chips at cash-out to apply the total directly.

• Multi-Currency Support — Track games in USD, EUR, GBP, CAD, AUD, JPY, and CHF.

Important: PokerMates does NOT support real-money gambling, wagering, or in-app payments. All references to buy-ins and settlements are for personal record-keeping only. Settlements occur outside the app between users.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.3 — 2026-09-28

What's new:

• Fixed a serious bug in settlement totals. When a player was added to a game that had already been split across tables, their results could be left out of the settlement summary entirely — so someone's whole night could go unrecorded. Adding a player now asks which table they played at, and a summary that doesn't balance is reported instead of quietly dropped.

• Sharing is no longer WhatsApp-only. Reminders for RSVPs, food orders and outstanding balances can now go through Messages, Signal, email — anything on your phone — or be copied as text. If your group doesn't use WhatsApp, these finally work.

• "Remind me later" now means it. Dismissing the RSVP and food-order prompts is remembered, so you aren't asked the same question every time you open the app. Hosts can also decline their own game.

• Buttons that could silently do nothing now report what went wrong, including sign-out, so a failed action no longer looks like it worked.

• Privacy: profile picture links no longer contain your email address.

• Accessibility: VoiceOver and TalkBack can now jump between sections on busy screens like game details.

• "Rules of Engagement" is now "House Rules".

• New: turn off "Advanced Features" in Profile to hide the extras and keep the app to the essentials.

• Empty screens now explain what belongs there and what to do first, instead of just sitting blank.

• Share your night's photos as photos, and share or export any Predictions card on its own.

• Fixed deleting a game, opening a game from the list on the web, and several crashes and error messages that named the wrong thing.

### 1.3.2 — 2026-09-11

### 1.3.1 — 2026-09-02

What's new:

• Notifications work again on iPhone and iPad. If you had stopped receiving alerts for game invites, RSVPs, food orders or settlements, they are back — this affected everyone on iOS and is now fixed.
• Fixed a crash when declining access to the camera or photo library. Choosing "Don't Allow" on the QR scanner, or when adding a profile picture or a game photo, no longer closes the app.
• Hosts can find their friends again when adding players to a game. New accounts are discoverable by name, and you can now also be found by your full email address. A search only ever shows your name and picture — never your email, phone number, address or payment details — and you can switch it off any time in Profile → Hide from Player Search.
• The Poker Guide now prints properly. Card suits appear in the exported hand rankings, with hearts and diamonds in red.
• Exported PDFs no longer drop currency symbols or player names written in non-Latin scripts.
• Group settings are now grouped by what they do, so related options sit together.
• Reliability and privacy improvements throughout.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-08-26

What's new:

• Settle — a new tab that gathers every open balance across all of your groups in one place. View it by group or by game with a running total, filter to a single group, and pay, mark as paid, confirm received, or snooze right from the list without opening the game.
• Join by QR code or link — share one code that adds someone to your group, or brings them to a single game as a one-time guest. Scan codes in the app, or print a one-page game flyer with the code on it.
• Scan to Pay — settling up shows a QR code for the exact amount owed, so the other player can scan it and pay in Venmo or PayPal without typing anything.
• Get Paid — tap the Venmo or PayPal icon on your profile to show your own code. Anyone can scan it to pay you, even if they don't use the app, and they choose the amount.
• Spoken announcements — buy-ins and cash-outs can now be read aloud to the table, with sound and haptic cues you can switch on or off.
• Multi-table nights — split a big turnout across two or more tables. Each table keeps its own totals and settles within itself, while the grand totals stay balanced.
• A notifications inbox with an unread badge collects your settlement and food-order alerts, with the actions you need right on the card.
• Food orders now show the whole roster at a glance — who has ordered, who hasn't, and who is still a maybe.
• Predictions now live inside each group, right next to the leaderboard.
• Polish and fixes throughout for a smoother poker night.

### 1.2.9 — 2026-07-24

What's new:

• Group Balances — a new Outstanding Balances view shows who still owes whom across every game in your group, so no debt gets forgotten. Payments left open too long are gently flagged, with reminders you can snooze.
• More accurate settlements — settlement amounts now stay perfectly in sync as payments are confirmed and games are edited.
• Sign in your way — sign in with Google, Apple, or Facebook, with a smoother, more reliable web sign-in.
• House rules now include a shot clock for slow players, alongside the 25+ built-in rules you can customize and override per game.
• Export your stats to CSV or PDF, and filter by week, month, or year.
• Faster, more reliable syncing plus several fixes for a smoother poker night.
