### 4/5 — No Indoor non-GPS walking

*2026-08-21, version 3.5.12*

As someone who does a lot of walking during my recovery from heart surgery, I was saddened to see that indoor walking or treadmill walking, was not an available exercise on the polar bear app. I know there are other options to use but when you have a plethora of options including the entire Les mills product catalogued the least you can do is have the basics for people to tap into. Happy I don’t pay for the app!!

### 4/5 — Rubbish

*2026-08-17, version 3.5.12*

I’ve used a lot of deferent types of fitness watches over the years. This has been a terrible experience. The tech is absolute rubbish. I don’t think any efforts was put into the UX.

### 3/5 — No clip?

*2026-08-15, version 3.5.12*

Polar flow allows trimming of sessions for some strange reason this is still not a function in beat. More work on this app would help it go further.

### 2/5 — Bluetooth says connected

*2026-08-05, version 3.5.12*

But the app can’t find it. Shouldn’t be that hard. I mean really? Says right there,
iPhone settings, Bluetooth, polar connected to iPhone. App just has a spinning wheel looking for it. Like I said, shouldn’t be that hard

### 3/5 — Awful navigation, loses data

*2026-07-25, version 3.5.12*

Using Polar Beat with my H10 just a few weeks now. Sensor seems to work well but this app is wanting. Observations thus far:

#1 - When I waited to download a workout I was unable to do so. Tre only way to record my next workout was to delete the old one from my H10. Fail.

#2 - Just finding the “save a workout” function is inconvenient. Why hide it under the three-dot menu(top right corner) ?

#3 - After you end a workout, you have to restart the app to get the Last Sessions to reappear at the bottom of the Training function. You need to do this before you can get it to sync with Polar Flow.

#4 - It loses connection with my H10 & has to be re-paired. This happened today, AFTER I had already connected & was detecting a heart rate.

I’d genuinely like to rate it all higher, but this needs refinement.

### 3/5 — Forgets sign in.

*2026-06-30, version 3.5.12*

I have just downloaded this app and every time it forgets my password details on my iPhone .Asks to press forgotten password then after rest back on. But next time have to go through same process again. Frustrating

### 3/5 — Use it for setup, ignore it otherwise

*2026-06-20, version 3.5.12*

Polar always knocks it out of the park with hardware and stumbles with software, and Beat is no exception. It doesn’t support live activities (or any lock screen functionality), so you have to unlock your phone to track your workout. HR zones are difficult to see in most views. The Watch app similarly doesn’t run in live mode, and also can’t access the HR data from the paired iOS app, displaying only “–“ for heart rate.

To Polar’s partial credit, Beat does integrate with Apple Health now, with everything but your maps (why?) visible across the entire Health ecosystem.

The upshot? Polar’s half baked apps are only needed for initial setup and firmware updates for their HRMs. You can pretend this app doesn’t exist the rest of the time.

### 1/5 — Trying to figure out how to operate this thing

*2026-06-02, version 3.5.12*

This device is not at all user friendly…I have an iPhone and I can’t figure out how this damn thing works ? Why can’t I see my heart rate ?

### 2/5 — Mostly OK

*2026-05-31, version 3.5.12*

The app is decent, more or less, but one feature that would help it greatly is if it doesn't detect a great rate after, say 2-3 minutes, it ends the workout.

One of my greatest super powers is that i often forget to end the workout so 24-48 hrs later when i go to start a new workout it is still running.

This is one of the features that MyZone excelled at when i used that product.

Doesn't seem like it should be that challenging to add an auto end

### 2/5 — It’s okay

*2026-05-31, version 3.5.12*

Not intuitive. I want to train zone 2, it shows me “Zone 2” but doesn’t explain how it decided on zone 2 (as there are different methods).
Too much information. Just want Heart Rate displayed. Don’t want distance pace etc. there should be one page that is simply heart rate and zones. FFS. I don’t need all the bells and whistles. Give me a clean uncluttered option.

### 4/5 — UI Improvements

*2026-05-28, version 3.5.12*

This app isn’t too bad if you have a Polar chest strap but it would be nice if it supported Live Activities so I didn’t have to open my phone every time to see my heart rate zone, time, distance, etc. I’d also like to be able to make settings adjustments during a workout, such as voice guidance.

### 1/5 — Where is the manual target heart rate set?

*2026-05-27, version 3.5.12*

I bought this app so I could set a target heart rate and be alerted when I got to it. I have zero interest in anything else it might do. I have been looking for 30 minutes but cannot find this anywhere in the menu

### 3/5 — Needs a fix

*2026-05-23, version 3.5.12*

I’ve used this app for over 12 years and rated it 5 stars for all those years. The data integrated with all previous versions of my iPhones. I just upgraded to the iPhone 17 Pro. It no longer pushes calorie data over to the Apple health app. Apple points to Polar. I’ve tried all the steps both have suggested to fix the issue. Apple calls calories “move” calories. Polar calls them “motion” calories and gives me credit for stair stepping calories and Apple doesn’t.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Download nightmare

*2026-08-23, version 3.5.12*

If you record to the HR sensor, it is almost impossible to get it off. The app keeps crashing over and over and won’t do it. It’s a real pain.

### 1/5 — Sync

*2026-08-18, version 3.5.12*

Can’t get the app to sync with Apple Health, I does it once when you reset the app then the day after there’s no data is showing,

### 1/5 — Apple Health sync

*2026-07-24, version 3.5.12*

I have tried everything but polar beat not syncing w apple health. It worked quite well before though.

### 1/5 — Pairing stinks

*2026-07-18, version 3.5.12*

Why does (sustainable) pairing have to be difficult?

### 1/5 — POS

*2026-07-14, version 3.5.12*

Just want a HR monitor not this piece of Shi data collection device for the flipping company. Had one 30 years ago. Perfect. This thing is POS intrusion

### 1/5 — Just keeps failing

*2026-07-13, version 3.5.12*

My son purchased this for me 6 months ago and it’s worked twice! I don’t understand why, after following all the instructions and replacing a brand new battery twice my chest polar beat will not work? I certainly wouldn’t recommend this product.
Just too much trouble and tired of spending so much time just to have it fail again and again.

### 1/5 — Disappointment

*2026-06-18, version 3.5.12*

Won’t see the connection to heart monitor , have a great phone , even my mediocre Apple 3 can read the Bluetooth and this fails to monitor a entire run lost and several times failed

### 1/5 — Awful UI

*2026-06-12, version 3.5.12*

This app feels like it is 2 decades behind anything else on the market today.

### 1/5 — Failed to sync with apple health

*2026-06-10, version 3.5.12*

No review has can’t use at all.

### 1/5 — 垃圾

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The Best Fitness App

*2026-08-06, version 3.5.12*

I love the fat/fitness feature. It really improves my awareness about what my workout is doing and everytime it says “You are burning fat”, it lifted my mood. Over time, it conditioned me to love walking! Great for building good workout habit! Love, love, love this app.

### 5/5 — Go buy it

*2026-07-02, version 3.5.12*

The best HR monitor by a mile highly recommended

### 5/5 — Works Well

*2026-06-30, version 3.5.12*

I’ve been using this app for 2 months in conjunction with the polar H10 heart rate monitor. I’m 56 years old. When I started my resting heart rate was in the mid 60s. It is now in the mid 40s. I’ve been really pleased with the progress. I’ve made in two months. With the exception of a brief period about 10 years ago I have never really been a runner. I run 3 to 4 times a week. 2-1/2 mile course. I’m just trying to improve my pace while maintaining my heart rate. This app and the H10 monitor have been major game changers!!

### 5/5 — JJUK

*2026-06-16, version 3.5.12*

Elite A*

### 5/5 — Will not pair

*2026-06-16, version 3.5.12*

Did EVERTHING recommended - will NOT pair to my watch. New battery, fully charged watch, blue tooth on then off then on, paired & unpaired now won’t pair. Deleted Polar app & reinstalled same on blue tooth. I am drenched from wetting the darn strap. Might stick it in the blender! 🤬

### 5/5 — Brill!

*2026-06-07, version 3.5.12*

Absolutely bloody bonza. Thanks all

### 5/5 — Polar beat

*2026-05-12*

Le suivi à partir du téléphone fonctionne très bien, néanmoins il n’y a pas la possibilité de segmenter ou créer des segments pendant l’entraînement.

### 5/5 — Amazing app

*2026-04-16, version 3.5.12*

My run was so smooth thanks to this app 1000/10 would recommend

### 5/5 — Easy To Use

*2026-03-19, version 3.5.12*

Super easy to setup and link to Apple Health. Enjoy the realtime data while working out.

### 5/5 — measuring HIIT

*2026-02-22, version 3.5.12*

knowing what % in 100% maximum heart rate is everything when doing HIIT. that is why i use this app.
