I’ll repeat it here: Connect to WiFi, go to details for that connection, copy router IP, select ‘configure dns’ - set to manual and paste the router IP as DNS server Now the question is, why doesn’t Polaroid that write that on their webpage? ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with iOS 13.1 *2019-09-26, version 2.1.5* The live option doesn’t work with the new update anymore. This has been a problem for iOS users for what looks to be about a year now.... now you will need to take the SIM card and put it into a computer to get the footage. Very disappointing. ### 1/5 — What happened?!? *2019-09-03, version 2.1.5* This used to work well. Now there’s no preview?!? It crashes! It doesn’t show connected in the app?!? But it’s linked to the phone and the camera shows it’s on and casting a signal?!? And you can’t even reset the app to re sync!?!! WTH?!! It’s nice you can go live on fb but Who cares if I can’t preview what I’m doing how it’s positioned and if it doesn’t stay connected!! Sooo not happy is a gross understatement!! Polaroid you are to well known for this kind of shoddy workmanship. Fix this. I have two. Otherwise this was such a waste of money!! ### 1/5 — This Cube is basically a joke from Polaroid *2019-06-08, version 2.1.5* It’s a refrigerator magnet at this point. Not even kidding, I hold postcards with it on my fridge because the lack of support and “out of touch” service from Polaroid. Looking at a new Sony to replace this. I just wanted to avoid GoPro and looked at this. Almost 3 years later I can say it’s a dud and clearly was never succeeded. ### 1/5 — Used to be great *2019-06-08, version 2.1.5* I used to use this all the time. It was a great feature to be able to control the camera from my phone or iPad. Alas, it doesn’t work any more and now every shot is a guessing game. Not worth it. Please fix. ### 1/5 — No camera view on app *2019-05-22, version 2.1.5* This thing worked ok for awhile now I cant see what I’m recording only on playback They have similar cameras out there for half the price that record while charging and no WiFi needed. Polaroid needs to catch up !! ### 1/5 — Live feed not working/Solved the problem *2019-03-07, version 2.1.5* After much frustration and total silence from the developers of this app here’s what worked for me: After you connect via wifi go to the wi-fi settings and click the name of your camera (“cube+” in my case) to access the wi-fi configurations , copy your router number and scroll down to “configure DNS”, click to access the configurations, click “manual” and paste your router number and that did the trick for me. Good luck everyone and thank you SUPPORTING TEAM for ignoring our complaints!!!! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — The app control a joke right? *2021-08-08, version 2.1.6* Where they find the people dev. the app.? First graders? Slow, black screen, random control menu (comes up when it feel like it). ### 1/5 — Don’t Waste Your Money On A Cube *2021-05-09, version 2.1.6* I’ve had my cube for 5 years and with the exception of the first 6 months, I seem to try to connect for hours via the app. It is beyond frustrating that they haven’t fixed the connection issues yet. I don’t even want to give it away bc it’s not worth the headaches someone else will have trying to connect to the cube like the majority of the Cube owners. I recommend to anyone wanting to get a cube, think twice and pay the extra $ for a GoPro. You would think after so many years of customer complaints Polaroid would at least attempt to update the app. Last update was over 1 year ago. ### 1/5 — even worse *2021-02-05, version 2.1.6* I haven’t tried using my cube+ on an iPhone since this app refused to show a preview on my iPhone 7+ years ago. I have a 12 Pro Max now and now the app is refusing to connect to the camera even though my iPhone is connected to cube’s WiFi. Also tried it on my iPad Pro and get the same results. The Cube+ stopped taking properly exposed photos years ago making the only way to take properly exposed photos with it possible being via connection to this app. Which no longer connects. I know features on old tech dwindle over time but sheesh. I guess the Polaroid name doesn’t speak much about long term support. ### 1/5 — Camera preview doesn’t work *2021-01-18, version 2.1.6* As others have pointed out, the preview function in the app does not work with later versions of iOS. Very sad as that is the main functional purpose of the app 😭 ### 1/5 — Please up date *2020-08-27, version 2.1.6* Using iPhone X 13.6.1 button on camera doesn’t work with app connected so have to control via phone which is very laggy and I don’t have any audio in playback ### 1/5 — What good is an app if it does nothing? *2020-07-16, version 2.1.6* I have a Cube+ I haven’t used in a while and find myself wondering why I bought it. So, I put the newest version of the app on my phone and had to update the Cube’s firmware. Seems like a majority of the time, the app will not take a still photo. What I have seen so far: I tried multiple times to take a still photo with the app. I click the button on the app and it would beep as if it took one, but then nothing would appear on the screen. No photo was taken. I must have tried 20 times to take a photo of a mural and none of them took. Without the app, I can’t take a photo at all. When I go into the picture gallery of the app, only the most recent photo appears. No other photos. If I want to see any other, I have to take the card out of the camera and open it in my computer. Sometimes, the app is stuck on motion picture form. There is no option to change modes. I have to go into the picture gallery, open a photo, and pray I can change modes this way. It’s all these issues with the app now that reminded me why I quit using the camera then. The phone app is just random. It should be a red snapper, but I get a box of nothing most of the time. ### 1/5 — 0 stars since iOS 13 update *2020-06-07, version 2.1.6* This camera was “meh” at best before the iOS 13 update, now the cube+ holds the same functionality and value as a paper weight, but hey, atleast this paper weight has a magnet! The Cube+ will no longer connect via the app even when successfully connected to your phone’s WiFi. Save your money for a better product such as GoPro. ### 1/5 — June 7th, 2020 (STILL QUARANTINING) *2020-06-07, version 2.1.6* I was so excited when I received this as a gift! Setup and WiFi connection was easy... until it came to actually opening the application. Camera isn’t working, and I didn’t even have any green buttons that people are speaking of; just the camera information on top of screen. Works just fine in Dec. 2022 with a fully up to date iPhone XR. ### 5/5 — Works well for iPad 8 *2019-06-09, version 2.1.5* Downloading the app and connecting WiFi to from cube to iPad was under two minutes. I attached my Polaroid cube’s WiFi to the iPad. Then I opened the app. It connected easily. You can do live feed, and change the picture settings. You can later send photos through text or email. ### 5/5 — Library *2018-03-21, version 2.1.5* The app does have a library, for those who don’t know how to look it up when you’re in the regular screen or to record there is a thin green line at the top of the screen, when you touch it, it reveals your library there. Just posted this for a review that was left of someone that was confused or didn’t know how to access all the files at once. The cube still works but all files must be uploaded through your computer.
