## What is Pole Lap Logger?

The lap you drove, read back to you.

Pole Lap Logger records lap times, sector times, speed, G and your GPS line, then replays the whole lap on a map so you can see exactly where the time went.

RECORDING
• The phone you already have is enough to record a session — mount it with a clear view of the sky and its built-in GPS does the work.
• For higher precision, pair a supported Bluetooth LE GPS receiver. It samples far more often than a phone, which sharpens lap and sector times.
• Start/finish and sector lines are detected automatically as you cross them. Built-in layouts carry pit lines as well, so out laps and in laps stay separate and never spoil a best time.
• Landscape or portrait, whichever way you mount the phone.

ANALYSIS
• Replay any lap on a satellite map and watch it trace the line you actually drove. Follow it flat in 2D, or tilt the camera to sit behind you.
• Compare two laps at once. The delta builds and falls as they run, so you can see which corner gave the time away, and how much.
• Plot speed, longitudinal G and lateral G against time or distance — or sync the two laps by position instead of time.
• Enter your gearing — gear ratios, final drive and rev limit — and the map annotates each corner with the gear and engine speed, with rev-limit lines drawn on the graph.
• A G meter with a trail shows how the load moved through the corner.
• Your personal circuit best — the fastest you have driven there across every session saved on the device — is highlighted so you always have something to chase. You can also pin one earlier session and measure against that instead.

CIRCUITS
• Built-in layouts arrive with their start/finish, sector and pit lines already placed.
• Anything not included, you draw yourself in a few minutes. Drop the lines on a satellite map and your circuit behaves exactly like a built-in one.
• Just cruising? Record without a circuit and keep the trace anyway.

YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS
• Sessions are stored on the device. There is no account and no sign-in.
• Export any session as GPX, CSV or NMEA and take it wherever you like.
• Import files shared with you and open them in the app.
• No advertising of any kind.

FREE AND PREMIUM
Recording, playback, comparison, graphs, the circuit editor and export are never limited. The free version keeps two saved sessions on the device. Premium removes that cap. Today that is its only effect; features added in future updates may be part of Premium.

Premium is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time purchase that never expires. Prices are set per region and shown on this page and in the app. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings. Purchases are tied to the App Store account used to make them.

BEFORE YOU START
• Lap times and telemetry come from GPS. Accuracy depends on the receiver, the device and the conditions, and this app is not an official timing device.
• Use it on closed courses, keep your eyes on the track and never operate the app while driving.
• Do not rely on any figure it shows for decisions that affect your safety.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.7 — 2026-10-06

• 52 new preset circuit layouts, including the first circuits in Brazil, Bulgaria, Qatar, Romania, Turkey and the United States, and 43 existing layouts renamed: 181 layouts in 20 countries in total.
• Note: sessions, favourites and Target settings that used one of the 43 renamed layouts are no longer linked to it. Open the session and use Change Circuit to link it again; favourites and Target need to be set again.
• Bluetooth receiver connections: if a connection fails, the app now tells you why and what to do. If Bluetooth is off, it waits and connects automatically once you turn Bluetooth back on, including during a recording.
• If the Bluetooth receiver stays connected but stops sending data (for example, when it goes to sleep), the app now says so and shows an orange GPS NO DATA badge, and carries on automatically once data comes back.
• The speed and gear labels on the playback map now show at more zoom levels: further out than before, and all the way in to the closest zoom.
• When comparing two laps, the run-up before the start line now plays from the same moment for both laps, and the speed and gear labels now also appear on the run-up (in single-lap playback too).
• Fixed: with a Qstarz receiver, positions sent while the receiver had only a 2D fix were not recorded. They are now recorded.
• Fixed: when comparing two laps in the tilt-follow view while zoomed in close, the base lap's marker could disappear and stay hidden whenever the other lap's car was far away off-screen.
• Fixed: when comparing two laps, dragging or pinching the map in a stretch where only the base lap's marker is shown could leave that marker stuck in the centre of the screen while the map moved underneath it.
• Updated the app's underlying framework and libraries.

### 1.0.6 — 2026-10-02

• Fixed: after playback reached the end and stopped, tapping Play could move the marker slightly past the end of the line instead of starting over.
• Fixed: when you started dragging or pinching the map during playback or right after pausing, the markers could jump, disappear for a moment or shift slightly forward.

### 1.0.5 — 2026-09-30

• Improved: the compass in playback now always shows the direction the map is actually facing.
• Fixed: the map could jump for a moment when you resumed playback after a pause, most noticeably in comparison playback.
• Fixed: right after resuming playback, the marker and the map could shake briefly.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-29

• New: tap a backup (.pllb) or circuit file (.pllc) in the Files app to open it straight in Pole Lap Logger.
• Improved: playback now remembers the tilt, rotation and zoom you set, including tilt in 2D view, and uses them from the first playback when you reopen a lap. Leaving while the view is switching no longer saves a half-turned map.
• Fixed: dragging or pinching the map during follow playback only paused it instead of moving or zooming the map.
• Fixed: after dragging the map during playback, the play button could stop responding.
• Fixed: the zoom buttons at maximum zoom, and the zoom and compass buttons in tilt-follow view, could freeze playback for a few seconds.
• Fixed: switching from tilt-follow to 2D during playback could leave the 2D map facing the wrong way.
• Fixed: a session imported from another app while History was open did not appear in the list.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-24

• New: back up and restore all your data. Settings > Data > Back up all data saves your sessions, circuits, vehicles, GPS devices and settings as one file. Restore it on a new phone from Settings or by opening the file.
• Fixed: pausing playback could make the marker and the camera jump the moment you pressed pause.
• Fixed: in comparison playback, the map briefly caught as the laps first crossed the start line.
• Fixed: on iPhone and iPad, the reference car in comparison playback trembled at high zoom.
• Fixed: dragging the graph while paused in 2D view made both markers vibrate.
• Fixed: laps recorded with version 1.0.0 could lose their playback and graphs after a change of time zone. They are repaired automatically with this update.
