Unfortunately, the try-on function of this app doesn’t work - it asks you to enable the camera even when it’s already enabled. Without the camera, there’s no try-on function and no point in uploading this app. Rival company Ace+Tate can do this on their website; any number of apps can put glasses on you - why can’t the Polette app manage it? ### 1/5 — Tryon function not working *2022-05-23, version 1.4.10* Downloaded this app because of its tryon function. Sadly this isn’t working. It keeps telling me to allow permission to access my camera. The permission is there but it still won’t work. Very disappointing. ### 1/5 — Such a pity *2021-04-09, version 1.4.2* I was really looking forward to using this app after selecting a bunch of frames online, but it was so disappointing. I tried it on an iPhone SE, an iPhone 8 and an iPad and it crashed on all three. Only got it to work a few times on the iPhone 8. Unfortunately, even when it didn’t crash, the virtual try-on was useless as the frames aren’t to size. Even though there are clearly bigger frames (measurements are in the specs), they are all the same size on my face (and too small). Especially now that the London store is closed, I’d really hoped this would work better. ### 1/5 — Disappointed by the app. *2021-01-13, version 1.4.0* The app is clunky cumbersome and currently not responding at all.Am staring at a white screen ! Which is a REAL shame as Earlier in the day I had highlighted 11 pairs of spectacles that I wanted to have a look at again. The screen goes white and that’s it. Disappointing for a shop I tell people about all the time. Pretty easy but needs some bugs squashed. 1. Make it clearer in store you need the app to buy. A giant QR code to scan or something. Just makes it simpler and less to do later. 2. Add Apple Pay as a payment option. This is essential - makes it so much easier and more likely to make a purchase. I don’t carry my wallet so I had to look up card details etc in order to use PayPal. No ideal and took longer than it should have. Please add Apple Pay! 3. Payment screen bug. I knew my payment had worked because I got the confirmation email however the button on your app didn’t take me back to any confirmation, it just did nothing. I clicked ‘close’ at bottom of window but there was a dialogue telling me to open a new payment window. Mas was endlessly patient, even when I asked to change the colour of my frames. Love the quirky designs and love the prices even more. Frames for £50 and varifocals for £75. I’ve been quoted £375 for varifocals before.
