Create your own country and build your nation in Politics and War, the massively multiplayer political simulation game created by an American high school student in 2014. With over a quarter of a million players since its launch, Politics and War has become an international sensation.
Create your own country and customize it for the ultimate roleplay and world-building experience. Choose your leader, draw your borders on a map, create your own nation flag, government type, nation currency, and much more. 
Mine and refine resources which can be bought and sold in a completely player-driven supply and demand economy. Use resources to power your nation, build military units, city improvement, and large-scale projects to improve your nation.
Raise armies and wage war with other players. With 7 different military units, including nuclear weapons, you can raid neighboring nations to loot money and resources or wage all out attrition war to pummel your opponents into the ground.
Engage in diplomacy with other nations by creating and joining alliances with other players. You can sign treaties, enforce political and economic sanctions, cooperate in global wars, and more. Work together with other players to compete for economic, militaristic, and diplomatic dominance in the game.
Politics and War is free to play with no in-app ads, and unlike other games has strict limits on “pay-to-win” activity. This game was built and is still being developed and improved upon by an independent developer who was only 16 when he first created the game.

Boring game, rarely any updates. Most of the game is played on discord. Creator of the game has done a runner.

It’s overall a very good game if you got the game when it just came out BUT if you start now good luck because after 15 days you WILL get raided by a bigger country. But I like the very customizable options for your country

They really have to find a way to manage the pay to win situation. Maybe don’t let people exchange credits if they’re losing an offensive war?

And had you said the servers would be crumbling and impossible to reach at times, we might’ve not spent all the money we did.

I spent a lot of time trying to understand what this was, if you want something like it for yourself with artificial gameplay download codex to your computer and ask it to look this website up and make one for you, instruct it to avoid copyrights though 🥹 as this creator took this idea from the maker of cyber nations. 

I can see why this game was popular for a while, but in its current state it feels far smaller and less authentic than it presents itself to be.

The front page heavily advertises that you’ll never encounter fake or bot players, which immediately stood out to me because after spending months in the community, a huge amount of interaction honestly felt automated, scripted, or coordinated. Whether it’s bots, alt accounts, or organized groups running multiple accounts, the social ecosystem often felt artificial rather than like a genuine active MMO community.

I spent about five months playing and a lot of the time I genuinely couldn’t tell whether I was interacting with real players or heavily scripted behavior. That completely ruined immersion for me.

The monetization also left a bad taste. While credits and donations are technically optional, it often feels like players who spend money receive noticeably better treatment or more protection in-game. There’s a strong pressure to donate if you want to stay competitive or avoid becoming irrelevant.

If you’re heavily political, have unlimited free time, or don’t mind throwing money at the game, you’ll probably fit right in. The moderation and enforcement also felt inconsistent to me, especially regarding multi-accounting and coordinated behavior, which made the competitive side of the game feel less legitimate than advertised.

Another issue is that the game itself feels outdated and poorly maintained despite still pushing monetization heavily. There’s potential here, but instead of focusing on improving gameplay or rebuilding the community, it feels like the same small circle of longtime players controls most of the experience.

I also strongly recommend being cautious with permissions and third-party integrations connected to the game or its community platforms. As with any online game, be careful about what apps, browser extensions, or Discord tools you authorize.

Honestly, the most frustrating part is that if the developers had simply been transparent about the game’s small community and niche status, I probably would’ve enjoyed it more. There’s a decent concept underneath everything, but the current environment feels more artificial than authentic.

After so much investigation, and trying to replicate, this is not an online game for everybody. This is the creators game that he makes available to the public with the hopes that people will donate money to it.

lol @ everyone saying "it's so slow" is it slow or is it your internet bc I never have a problem. 

For a game that doesn't impose ads or force payment in anyway it's alright. I mean, a credit for 60 days VIP or a credit for $50m for $5 isn't that bad. A similar game to this one that I will not say the name of but we all know what I'm talking about charges. The minimum is five dollars. You can redeem once in 30 days versus 20 times and 30 days. And unless you spend big money, they don't really give you anything unlike this game.

Usually when raiders hit it's 7/10 based on activity. You can always have your alliance reach out on your behalf, or if you are not in one, you can message them and speak for yourself. I found out that 70% of the time if you're polite, then usually people will peace out on the war. 

The only bad thing I have to say about this game is that it's very war based versus the name being called Politics & War. There's more war than anything else and war is the game just so everybody knows who's reading this. You will have to fight wars. I think it would be great if there was an option to opt out of warring other than vacation mode because your economy doesn't work on vacation mode, but that's how the games designed so it is what it is.

I’ve been playing this game for around three months now I’m sure the game could have a lot more improvements for blind people like for example in the baseball tab it moves your cursor around when you use a screen reader after you click a button to upgrade a person. Overall, this is a great game. Alliances are good if you find the right one that fits for you. I wish you could customize your country more though like I wish there was a way that you could create your own policies instead of selecting the games general policies. I think that creating policies would be pretty cool and it would add to making your nation, a little more unique.
