### 3/5 — Expensive

*2026-06-04, version 5.6.2*

Assuming that the data is reliable, this is really the only app I found that gives you measured data rather than estimates and algorithm forecast.

The UX is a little wonky, but I can overlook that as annoying as it is.

My main problem is $50 a year for the pro level, which is what it takes for the widget to work. It’s hard to justify paying that much unless my health absolutely depended on getting an accurate reading, which it doesn’t.

Widget accuracy is a convenience to me, not a necessity, and I’m probably not alone in that regard.

### 3/5 — Mold Counts

*2026-04-06, version 5.5.7*

I really wish that this app had mold counts. I am most allergic to mold and this app is of limited use to me without tha mold counts.

### 2/5 — New format

*2025-09-04, version 5.4.3*

DON’T LIKE THE NEW FORMAT!

### 3/5 — Pay Wall

*2025-08-23, version 5.3.1*

It was a pretty great app until they put everything behind a paywall. $4.99 is too much for an app like this. It’s just not worth it.

### 2/5 — Used to be pretty good, but…

*2025-08-13, version 5.3.1*

Ruined with the new version. They got greedy, put everything useful behind a paid tier, and made it impossible to know up front what you have to pay for access. PMs and marketers really did a number on this one. I would have gladly chipped in before all the bad vibes.

### 1/5 — SUCH a disappointment!!

*2025-08-09, version 5.3.1*

What’s the sense of creating an app for allergy levels when day-after-day you report zero levels for all allergens?!?! I was so hopeful when I discovered this but have been nothing but disappointed! The amazing LACK of information is astounding!

### 1/5 — Have some respect for others time.

*2025-08-07, version 5.3.1*

Apparently I need to make an account to find out 1) If this is an app/solution I can afford and if it suits my needs. 2) If there is sensor coverage where I live. These are pretty basic questions. I shouldn’t have to spend a bunch of time figuring out details that should be presented up front.

### 3/5 — Previously was excellent.

*2025-08-05*

I’m not an expert, but the breadth and depth of data captured by PollenWise is second to none. The equivalent here in Australia is Stone Age in comparison.

AFAIK, all other American alternatives are too narrow in focus, or give historical data a day too late.

I couldn’t make use of PollenWise directly, but have been able to recommend it to dozens of people in America.

However things have broken in the last two updates. I can’t see any data at all now. Any location tried instantly returns a big red error message “unable to load data, please wait a few minutes and try again.” Nothing I try makes any difference.

I’m guessing there’s an either a major bug, or I’m now geo-blocked because I’m not located in America/the covered areas.

If it’s the latter, and it’s an intentional design feature, it makes it much less useful for international travellers, if they can’t get the allergen levels in advance.

I hope this is rectified soon.

### 1/5 — Used to be great, now broken

*2025-08-04, version 5.2.3*

This was a really useful app—a simple interface that loaded as soon as you opened the app, detailing the types of allergens and their hourly levels throughout the day. Perfection.

After an update, data is split into daily (free) and hourly (paid). Guess which one always has an error message and won’t load. The app became useless to free users until it gets fixed.

### 1/5 — Useless now

*2025-08-01, version 5.1.2*

With new version and update in the free version you can only see daily counts in a way that doesn’t even give you the info you need. They took away hourly and want you to pay for it. Uninstalled.

### 1/5 — This app has turned to greed

*2025-07-31, version 5.1.2*

Tell me why I opened my app, and all of a sudden I have to PAY to see what the top allergen is. BYE! Not rewarding greed!

### 1/5 — Inconsistent reports

*2025-05-12, version 4.0.0*

Just checked pollen levels on the app. On the home page, it says "Watch out. Tree pollen levels are high". Then I went to the journal page to log my symptoms and write notes, and it shows tree allergens are low.

I'd ask "Which is it?" but it's clear from my symptoms and windy weather that tree pollen is high.

Disappointing.

### 3/5 — Reports drop to zero for half a day at a time

*2025-03-26*

As one of the very few data sources for pollen counts, we had high hopes of using the app to correlate with our symptoms and help us narrow down the source of our allergies. But the data has been dropping to zero for almost a day at a time, leaving us in the blind. There’s no warning or explanation in the app.

During a period of very high pollen counts, an app that charges us to deliver that data can’t just come and go like this.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App is broken for a week

*2026-07-11, version 5.6.2*

Does not render any data for the last week or so, just keeps refreshing the UI.

### 1/5 — Less than Worthless

*2026-07-10*

I have low requirements - I just want to see the pollen counts for today and a few days before. Despite the pictures in the app description, none of the information is present. All I can access is a useless “allergy journal” that allows me to enter if I had runny eyes today.

For health reasons, I need pollen counts to gauge the safety of outdoor activities. This information used to be available on websites. Now, they want to just send people to a worthless app that risks the health of people when we cannot access data that is supposed to be publicly accessible.

### 1/5 — Great when it works

*2026-04-15, version 5.5.7*

Very sketchy performance. I have paid for the expanded features but I frequently have to go back into the app and “restore” my status as a paid account. The widget, which I rely on, hardly ever works anymore.

### 1/5 — Paywalled

*2026-04-03, version 5.5.7*

Can’t access anything beyond what other weather apps provide unless you pay. But my biggest gripe is that you can’t even answer the question whether you have a sensor close by for free. Why would I pay for something before knowing if there is a Pollen Wise sensor in my area first? If I pay for the app and find my closest sensor is 50+ miles away, you will have just stole my money, so I won’t be doing that.

### 1/5 — 👎🏼

*2026-02-02, version 5.5.5*

Was my favorite seasonal app but they took the hourly away for free users and ultimately made the app useless.

### 1/5 — Got worse over the years

*2025-12-01, version 5.5.3*

Was great a few years ago. The imaging of particles at each sensor was pretty cool, not sure where that went with the recent update. Also the new update seems inaccurate. Levels often read as low when other apps show moderate dust or mold. Deleted

### 1/5 — No longer user friendly.

*2025-11-18, version 5.5.3*

Once a favorite but now I hate it. Not user friendly and confusing. Im deleting

### 1/5 — Unusable now

*2025-10-04, version 5.5.1*

All the features that made this app great are now behind a paywall. Not worth using anymore.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2025-10-01, version 5.5.1*

$70 subscription for an app that doesn’t work. Broken features behind pay wall. Refund requested.

### 1/5 — Seachange

*2025-09-22, version 5.5.0*

So loved + relied heavily upon V4 - strong data + simple visuals. Now data is restricted + the display tiny bar graphs) is unreadable for me. Must take my leave...

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — App is Not WORKING

*2026-07-08, version 5.6.2*

The App Won’t Load
Just Keeps Goes in Circles Loading⭕️

### 5/5 — Hi

*2026-05-29*

This is a wonderful app. It helps out really well. You should download it and use it. It really does its job. Keep up the good work.

### 5/5 — Great improvement to show High pollen time for each day

*2025-09-22, version 5.5.0*

Really help me plan better. Version 5.5 brought back specific information and made it better than Version 4 by showing the High grass pollen time.

### 5/5 — Still the best pollen data available

*2025-08-09*

Version 5 has had some major hiccups, with some users unable to view data.

The current update seems to fix the issue for almost all users, and the developer is responsive and can assist with some workarounds if you still encounter the issue.

Once resolved, everything is business as usual: PollenWise is still the best pollen information available, with counts from automated sensing stations updated multiple times a day.

If you have allergies and know what you’re sensitive to, the app presents clear and useful data to plan your activities to minimize your exposure to allergens.

**Developer response:** Hi! We sincerely apologize for the degraded experience you and a select few users have had since our v5 launch. Our team has been hard at work with almost daily updates to improve the experience. Please make sure to update to the latest available version.

### 5/5 — Dust Allergy

*2025-08-04*

I really like this app and recommend it to others! For me, it's all about the "Dust" levels, as this app is the best app when it comes to information about the Dust levels in other air! This app covers more allergy alerts in several areas, such as Gras, Trees, Mold,-- which is why I recommend it to others. The other feature I love, is when I travel, it allows you to enter the city you are traveling to check on what the air quality and allergies are for that city. This is my go to app every morning!

### 5/5 — Only Hourly Source

*2025-04-02*

I learned Pollen Wise is the ONLY actual source of hourly forecasting since they have a real sensor network. It’s cloud-based so all the sensors are connected for the company to send our data for app users.
No other app or report gives as much detail to manage my day as an allergy sufferer. It’s really cool what they can do! The best app! Thank you

### 5/5 — Life changing app for me

*2025-03-18*

Love Pollen Wise. I have multiple allergies and usually have to spend months on anti allergy meds which I don’t like. Using this app (on iOS) I can just take meds when the count is high. It’s made me more aware of how the different allergens feel too. I find it very easy to use and love the widget.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2024-09-22, version 4.0.0*

Very awesome app. Gives hourly detailed updates for pollen levels along with graphs. Also has articles on how to manage allergies and when best to go outside etc. Really helpful app.

### 5/5 — Finally!!!!

*2024-05-19, version 3.1.1*

So awesome to have nearly real time, local data available for a seasonal allergy sufferer like me. I correlate my symptoms with the data from the app, and can manage my allergies way better now!

### 5/5 — Login Issues With 🍎Apple Accounts

*2024-04-21, version 3.1.1*

Having Trouble Login With My 🍎Apple Accounts
On My📲 & I Pad📲
