## What is Pollinator Patch?

Outdoor plant care that knows your yard. Pollinator Patch tells you what each plant needs and when: watering while it establishes, cover before a freeze, and seasonal care matched to your exact region.

CARE FOR EVERY PLANT YOU OWN
Add the plants already growing in your yard, native or not, or paste in a whole list during setup. Seasonal guidance is free and tied to where you actually garden, not generic tips.

YOUR LAWN, TOO
Add your lawn like any other plant and get organic care timing for your region, starting with Texas. Not sure what grass you have? Answer three questions or snap a close-up.

REMINDERS THAT DO THE THINKING
Watering reminders timed to how established each plant is, and if rain already did the job, we tell you to skip it. Freeze alerts before cold nights tell you what to cover and when to uncover. Alerts arrive batched into one calm daily note.

KNOW WHAT TO PLANT NEXT
Browse 4,600+ verified native species filtered to your region, with pet-safe and HOA-friendly filters. Every plant profile flags toxicity to dogs, cats, and horses, with each claim citing its source, including the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center, NC State Extension, and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.

GET A PLAN THAT LOOKS INTENTIONAL
Set your filters: sun, yard size, HOA status, pets. Pollinator Patch builds a planting plan with native species suited to your region and a layout with defined borders and clear cues of care. Built for HOA-conscious homeowners who want a calm, low-risk way to make the change.

SEE YOUR YARD REPLANTED
Take a photo of your front yard and see a version of it replanted with native plants that fit your region. You get 2 free previews a day, and you can try one before you make an account.

FIND REBATES
Many cities and water utilities pay homeowners to replace thirsty lawns with native plants. See the turf-replacement and native-landscaping programs in your area, what each covers, and whether pre-approval is required before you start.

IDENTIFY ANY PLANT
Point your camera at a plant to identify it and find out whether it's native to your area. Free accounts get 25 plant IDs a day. Handy at the nursery or in your own yard.

Ask Patch answers your gardening questions along the way, from plant care to HOA expectations.

Pollinator Patch is free to download. Pro adds more Patch Vision redesigns, unlimited plant ID scans, more Ask Patch questions, unlimited garden plans, and the full HOA project packet.

From first plant to a yard that thrives, season after season.

### 5/5 — Great Information!

*2026-09-07*

The app is well designed and provides great information on plant care.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the kind words!

If there is anything we can build or include to make gardening more fun for you, just let us know!

### 5/5 — Pollinator Patch!

*2026-09-02*

Best gardening app there is baby!

**Developer response:** There are a lot out there, so we appreciate your kind words!

### 5/5 — Flowerbeds don’t suck anymore

*2026-09-02*

Great app. I have tried gardening and managed to kill most things I touch. Converted my flower beds to native plant species with the help of this app and finally can look at my flower beds without animosity. Look great, low up keep. Kids love all of the butterflies and bees that they attract as well.

**Developer response:** Thanks for sharing this, especially the line about looking at your flower beds without animosity. That is exactly the shift we are going for, less babysitting and more actually enjoying what is growing. If the kids want to know who is visiting, the app can tell you which butterflies and bees to expect in your yard, not just that pollinators showed up!

### 5/5 — Surprisingly useful for native plant care

*2026-08-31*

Really well-designed and actually practical. Makes it easy to keep track of watering, frost, and seasonal care without overcomplicating things. Especially useful if you’re trying to build a more native, pollinator-friendly yard and aren’t an expert gardener. Clean interface, helpful reminders, and no unnecessary fluff. Easy 5 stars.

**Developer response:** Appreciate you noticing the reminders stay out of your way instead of piling up. Getting watering, frost, and seasonal care to feel simple without dumbing it down is exactly what we are aiming for. As the weather turns this fall, the frost alerts are where that starts to earn its keep.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.2.7 — 2026-09-09

Adding plants is much faster now. Search once, tap everything you want, and save the whole batch together. If you already have a list written down, you can paste it in.

Fixed a bug where signing in could show an empty garden even though your plants were there.

Explore has two new type filters, Fern and Succulent.

The printable plan sheets and the HOA letter now explain phasing, so the plant counts on them line up with what you see in the app. The plan card you share also prices the planting correctly. It was reading your species count instead of your plant count.

Report a Problem in the Account tab now actually reaches us. It went nowhere before if you had crash reports turned off.

### 2.2.5 — 2026-09-03

Lawn care is here. Add your lawn like any other plant and get organic care timing for your region, starting with Texas. Not sure what grass you have? Answer three questions or snap a close-up.

Every action now gets a response. When a save, delete, or load fails, you'll see a plain-English message and a way to try again instead of silence.

Garden Planner: trace your bed on the satellite map on iPhone, site plans fill the bed edge to edge, and butterflies your yard can't host are marked honestly.

Sign-in got clearer error messages and a password reset right where you need it. If your confirmation email never arrived, you can resend it now.

Also: adding a plant we don't recognize is one tap, a pasted plant list is recognized on the add-plant screen, iPad layouts are fixed, and a few dozen smaller fixes.

### 2.2.4 — 2026-08-26

Your Home screen now opens with a short daily brief: the date, what your garden needs today, and anything the weather is about to do about it.

Plant ID got more honest. Pl@ntNet now leads the identification, and when one photo isn't enough to be sure, the app asks for a second instead of guessing. You can add up to five photos to a single scan. When we suggest a native alternative, you get three purposeful swaps rather than a generic list.

Fixed: HEIC photos from the iPhone camera no longer dead-end when you pick them from your library.

If you have notifications turned off, your care reminders now reach you by email instead of quietly going nowhere. You can manage all of it from inside the app, and every email has a one-tap unsubscribe.

Explore has a size filter and shows mature height on each plant card, and the Containers filter works everywhere now.

Plus a lot better VoiceOver support, real plant photos in free plan sheets and the bloom calendar, and two new rebate programs: Gilbert, Arizona and Seattle RainWise.

### 2.2.3 — 2026-08-25

Add a whole garden's worth of photos in one go. Pick many from your camera roll, assign each one to a plant, and pick up where you left off if you close the app partway.

Your garden now has a history. See waterings, notes, photos and problem checks in one feed, with a Lately strip on Home.

Fixed a subscribe button that did nothing when you were signed out. Signing up now happens right on the pricing screen.

Pet safety is more accurate. Corrected toxicity for dozens of plants, fixed a filter that could let a plant through when it had never been checked for your pet, and every claim now shows its source.

Plant photos show up where they were blank before, across your garden, care lists and starter sheets.

Setup explains itself. The Continue button now tells you what it needs, and the step counter no longer moves the finish line while you are working.

Problem help now covers plants in pots, and includes one free check a month.

Save butterflies and bees straight from their pages.

Fixed content sitting under the tab bar on eleven screens, and stopped the app asking again about plants you had already watered.

### 2.2.1 — 2026-08-19

Care for every plant you own. Add the plants already growing in your yard, native or not, and get seasonal guidance matched to your region.

Watering reminders now account for rain. If the sky already did the job, we tell you to skip it.

Freeze alerts tell you what to cover before a cold night and when to uncover in the morning.

Plus small fixes to keep everything running smoothly.
