### 5/5 — Perfect writing practice

*2023-08-02*

I love practicing my target language and helping others with my native language. One piece of feedback: can you make the keyboard automatically switch language to the target language? Google translate does this and this would be a nice UX win

**Developer response:** Hi Germanlearned, this is something we plan on working on in the future. Thanks for the brilliant review!

### 5/5 — Super cute and fun

*2023-08-01, version 2.0.4*

I really like it, seems well thought out and is fun. I love the affordability of it too <3

### 5/5 — Great idea and excellent implementation!

*2023-08-01*

Great app for practicing writing and speaking in different languages! It’s easy to get started, a lot of fun, and very useful for improving!

**Developer response:** Hi wannabe_polyglot, thanks for the excellent review I'm glad you're having fun and finding our app useful for learning a language 🥰

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2023-07-04*

I love the concept, it is an awesome way to practice and improve your language skills. Additionally I love that it’s made by an indie developer who interacts with her users!

**Developer response:** Hi Madfoosa, thank for the amazing review! Glad you like the app 😊

### 5/5 — Спасибо!

*2023-05-15, version 1.3.5*

Отличное приложение для тренировки языка от уровня А2. Здорово, что ты описываешь картинку, а потом твой текст проверяют.

### 5/5 — What a great idea

*2023-05-03*

The idea behind this app is so simple but so good. I’m trying to get comfortable with Toki Pona. The loose and interpretive nature of that co lang makes it easy to get into static patterns of expression and interpretation. By switching off with real people, I see things I never would have on my own. It's both fun and helpful.
The UI could use some polish, and some of the in-app messaging could be tightened up, but it's already really useful as it is.
Oh, I’d like to add my vote to adding Esperanto to the list of languages with translation

### 5/5 — Community Lernen

*2023-05-02, version 1.3.5*

### 5/5 — Engaging language learning tool

*2023-04-04, version 1.3.4*

I’d been struggling lately with keeping up my motivation to keep learning another language and this app really helps with that by prompting you to use what you already know to express yourself in a creative manner, which also leads you to filling in gaps in your knowledge and adding to your vocabulary. I wish it had a listening and speaking component as well (seeing as those are the areas I’m seeking to improve in most) but I understand that would probably be quite a task to implement.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2023-03-06*

I have been stuck in a language rut for a while because I have been learning grammar and vocabulary but not using it! This app has forced me to start using everything I’ve learned (and recalling it) so I am starting to have more confidence in speaking and making more complex sentences. There’s still not that many users in the language I am studying but hopefully in the future that will change.

**Developer response:** Hi oe96, thanks for such a great review! I'm super glad you're enjoying the app! What language are you learning? Maybe we can try reaching some study groups in social media and see if we can increase the community for that language. Don't hesitate to contact us by email to follow up or if you have any other suggestions about the app. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Gets you using the language

*2022-12-04, version 1.2.2*

This is as simple to use as Duolingo but has the huge advantage that it allows you to practise putting your own sentences together, with no pressure.

### 5/5 — Great for any level

*2022-08-26*

This app is obviously good for beginner and intermediate learners, but it’s also great and lots of fun for the advanced language student. At this level, I am ecouraged not only create a simple statement about the image but to bring more creativity to bear. Why not craft a rhyming couplet? This pushes me deep into the target language to think outside the box.
I’m having a ball with it!

**Developer response:** Hi TimPybyr, thanks for the superb review! I'm very glad you're having a blast 💪☺️

### 5/5 — Really delighted with it

*2022-08-24, version 1.1.7*

Lightweight language learning app that uses peer-produced language snippets to create authentic but tiny exchanges. What’s not to love?

### 5/5 — Learning a lot!

*2022-08-17*

This is super useful for practicing your language of choice. Make your own timing as it’s turn-based. Folks will correct your mistakes and you will discover your shortcomings when trying to write sentences. Great tool for a more complete language learning journey!

**Developer response:** Hi lucio, the turn-taking makes learning a lot less stressful indeed! Thanks for this very thorough review, really appreciate it. Glad you're enjoying the app ☺️

### 3/5 — Problem with picking different card after swiping

*2024-05-22*

Whenever I swipe cards for see more different cards then pick one, for somehow it won't apply the card I picked. Thus my partners get confused due to it shows the wrong card. Please fix this problem.

**Developer response:** Hi, this was a bug we have now fixed. Please make sure your app version is at least 2.5.0. Thanks so much for your review!

### 3/5 — Good but lack features

*2024-02-08, version 2.3*

Notification before 3 days end in the current match would be nice. One extra star when that is fixed.

### 3/5 — Cool idea but backwards

*2023-08-11*

The app sets you up so that if you’re learning language X, it partners you with someone else learning the same language. That’s not effective—you can’t correct each other and you’ll keep making the same mistakes. If I’m fluent in X and learning Y, pair me with someone fluent in Y and learning X!

**Developer response:** Hi Mlevie, the app pairs you with whoever is open to practising that language, other learners or natives willing to help out. Think of it as a language meetup, or a hostel lounge. You'll encounter people with several ranges of proficiency. Any practise helps you learn, not just with natives, because it helps you increase your active vocabulary. But if you still want to practice with natives only, add some of them to your friends list and start a match directly with that person. Cheers!

### 4/5 — pretty great, has some issues

*2024-12-29*

Namely the fact that the AI can’t work with toki pona, and certain tests with the minigames cause me to get things wrong due to the order of words (that wouldn’t matter usually). I do love this app, and understand why those issues can’t exactly be *easily* fixed, but you should take that into consideration.

### 4/5 — Can’t add new language- overall great

*2024-09-07*

I’m working on a new language and was unable to locate a way to add it after I’d added my initial languages- it would be nice to be able to easily add in a new practice target language!

**Developer response:** Hi Catalina, you can add more languages if you click to edit your profile then click on the languages. Cheers!

### 4/5 — Fun and useful

*2023-02-20, version 1.3.2*

This is such a good way to start forming sentences and interacting with others. I love the picture prompts to match. I understand this is still under development so just a few things to improve. I particularly think the interface could be clearer, initially it’s hard to work out what is in progress and what you have to do something with. I got confused with whether I was matching or starting a new match. If the text for matching was more obvious at the top of the screen that would be helpful. The review feature is great too.
Also really appreciate this can be used for minority languages! I am learning Scottish Gaelic and hopefully more speakers will be on there as it gets better know.

### 4/5 — Fun and effective

*2022-11-27, version 1.2.2*

Really fun way to try out language comprehension making up short phrases.

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2025-08-25, version 2.6.1*

I’ve only been playing for a few days and I can already see an improvement. Such an amazing app for daily practice I absolutely love it and will be telling all my friends!

### 5/5 — Great for smaller languages too

*2025-04-27, version 2.6.1*

I love Polygloss for many reasons. I enjoy the variety of its prompts, the easy/approachable expectations it has for learners, and the openness of answers I’m allowed to enter. It encourages the user to explore what they can say, regardless of their language level.

One of the most special things about Polygloss has to be the customization of the language options, though! It makes it very easy to enter even smaller languages (minority languages/understudied languages/constructed languages) and find people to practice with, or add friends who are learning them too. I very much recommend it for practice in this way.

### 5/5 — Nice, clean app

*2025-03-27, version 2.5.0*

The app works very well and has a nice design. Doesn’t look like an indie project at all. You get exactly what’s promised. Some images are very good to refresh some basics, some challenge you to check out new vocabulary in the language you are learning. There is also a Discord Server where you can directly talk to the Dev. Love it!

### 5/5 — I can practice Toki Pona with my friend

*2025-01-18*

Title

### 5/5 — Когда я стану богатой я задоначу вам

*2024-12-13, version 2.5.0*

### 5/5 — A fun language app

*2024-07-03, version 2.4.0*

I’ve tried a few different language apps and they all have strengths and weaknesses. This one is particularly fun and engaging.

### 5/5 — Highly effective writing practice

*2024-05-13*

This fun app/game lets me practice language areas I need and makes the process fun.

I needed an app to help get me from Italian B1 to B2 with writing practice so I can improve my spoken Italian. Duolingo isn’t useful at this level. Busuu’s writing is a chore. italki lessons are great but expensive.

Polygloss is perfect for fun writing practice. Highly recommended!

### 5/5 — Polygloss

*2024-05-10, version 2.4.0*

This app makes me think how to say things in another language, and I like the interaction with other players.

### 5/5 — Good app

*2024-04-12*

This is a really cool app! It makes me sad that not a lot of people use it. I don’t know if it’s because I’m new to using the app, but the most recent message I’ve seen anyone send was from March… most are from a few weeks or months ago. Barely anyone is online from what I can tell, and no one can reply to my matches quickly. Am I doing something wrong?

### 5/5 — Great way to practice formulating your thoughts

*2023-08-10*

Simple concept. Pick one of four images and write a sentence about it. Great way to build your vocabulary and to identify gaps where you don’t know how to express a particular idea.

I generally try to write a couple sentences while looking up things as needed. After a week or so I’m already noticing an improvement in my ability to be able to say what I want to say without having to look things up.

**Developer response:** Hi noxiousgg, this is great feedback! I'm really happy the app is making a noticeable difference in your language journey. Thanks for the review!
