I just got the app today & I absolutely love it so far. It is very feature rich. I only wish this awesome application has a few features as I'm a self taught classical pianist, I no expert with rhythm but some features I would like are:

1. A 2nd flash bar. I find the flash really helpful. This critical feature would be for seq2 (having it for polyrhythms would be a super nice touch too) I need practice polyrhythms. seening where the flashes line up and the length of the flash bar indicating how long to hold the note(beat) would be
nice.

2. I'm not sure if it's possible yet, but for the metronome, the ability to adjust the beat value of the metronome. (1, 2 ,4, 8, 16 and adding in dotted versions. [32nd notes? im trying to learn to trill]. For example seeing and hearing 8th notes in 4/4 time, If we have the 2nd flash bar we, can subdivide seq2 to play 16th notes [32nd if possible :)] I think that may be easier to set up more things to see when playing. (A song example is Bumble Bee Boogie. Its in 4/4, the left hand plays 8th notes and the Right hand has a lot of 16th notes) I think I can get the same effect setting the time signature to 8/8 but not sure, and you would have to do more math with tempo either doubling or halving it to get the tempo you want.

3. Not a biggie and its ok if it's not there, adding the 32nd note subdivision if possible. If there is a way to count them I don't know yet (I'll search later) but so far no other electronic metronome I researched has this feature It doesn't have to be for all tempos. if that is an issue. but it would be great!

Thanks again for this application its just what the doctor ordered!

### 5/5 — The Most Powerful Metronome

*2023-11-14*

Polynome is my daily practice tool. I have different presets and have built playlists to make more efficient and organised practice. I’ve barely scratched the surface of what PolyNome can do and it’s already been of exceptional value. If you’re a musician this has so many useful features- if you’re not a drummer it can BE your drummer - I use PolyNome for both bass guitar and drum practice as well as with students.

**Developer response:** Thanks for such a great review. It’s always nice to hear how non-drummers find it useful.

### 4/5 — Great product a bit hard to use

*2023-11-13, version 23.10.4*

Love this thing but want to use it for gigs to set tempos. It’s a bit hard for us technically challenged drummers. I thought at one point that I was able to use a Spotify play list to get BPMs but I haven’t been able to get them again?

### 5/5 — Poly one pro

*2023-11-13*

It’s a great metronome but there’s a fairly steep learning curve. I found it was too complicated for me, which is a shame as I wanted to use it on a daily basis.
Kevin Mason.

**Developer response:** Hi Kevin,
I’m so sorry it’s taken me so long to respond. I don’t get notified of new reviews.
I’ve made some changes since you left the review and I’m about to make more in the next update. These changes are aimed at making the app easier to understand and use for new and existing users.
If you have another try and still find it complicated, please reach out to me at support@polynome.net and I’ll be happy to help.
Best,
Joe

### 5/5 — Every rehearsal, every gig

*2023-11-13*

I use PolyNome constantly, and it is the only thing that keeps me sane when my bands rearrange setlists at the last minute, want to tweak tempos when we have guest musicians sit in, or are trying to remember that song we played 10 gigs ago. I use the Big Number to help me keep track of the “1” on tricky tunes, and set up more complex rhythms for tunes with their own thing going on. Can’t gig without it!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the great review. I’m so happy you find it useful in the band setting. Hopefully the Track Markup feature brings even more useful tools to the table!

### 5/5 — Bestes Metronom

*2023-11-13*

Mit Abstand das beste Metronom. Jede Einstellung die man sich vorstellen kann ist vorhanden. Ständige Updates und nützliche Neuerungen. Weiter so 🙏

### 5/5 — Polynome Pro

*2023-11-13*

Polynome is accessible on Apple hardware of choice , iPhone for listening, browsing, creating. share your personal iTunes playlist on polynome, observe information retrieved BPM . Move over to iPad and use as tempo master while practicing. Move over to Mac Air , intergrate into Ableton Live as possible click track . Joe you’ve created a Swiss knife equivalent. I’m a bassist and known for a fact Joe’s polynome doesn’t Lie, cheat or race you lol
Regards Mozzie bassman

**Developer response:** Thanks for the kind words! I’m so pleased you love the app.

### 5/5 — Best metronome - and more

*2023-11-13, version 23.10.4*

I'm just a humble guitarist, so don't make as much use as I could. For learning polyrhythms, nothing beats this app! Even as a simple metronome, the customizability of sounds is outstanding. Just get it!

### 4/5 — The best

*2023-11-13, version 23.10.4*

PolyNome is the best thing for help you improve your drumming. I love it.

### 5/5 — Unparalleled support in the shady world of apps developers

*2023-11-13, version 23.10.4*

This app not only gave me the only tool to acquire the poly rhythms and practice regimens I was desiring but the support I received directly from the developer and the timeliness of that support is a paradigm of excellence in the often spotty world of app support. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Simply the best

*2023-11-13*

I‘ my using PolyNome since years and I‘m happy as the first time use. There’s a programmer who is keen to make a good thing better! Thanks for all the great functions and the close contact to your users!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Yah I bought PolyNome now it says I don’t have it

*2024-08-13, version 24.07.5*

I purchased PolyNome pro and had my metronome . Now they did something new .now I can’t use anything . Says I have to go premium. Not cool . They should grandfather people in . Or something just not delete them. Won’t be buying this or using it anymore. Scam!!!!

### 1/5 — This app is a nightmare

*2024-03-29*

Supercool app. But I am way to dumb to use it. Way too complicated. Way to difficult to understand anything the app it does. I’ve exhausted all my email addresses just trying to sign in to library. Can’t reset password. .. the most frustrating experience of my life.

**Developer response:** Hi James,

I'm just updating my response here to point out that I just released an update that makes the app MUCH easier to use and understand.
If you haven't tried it in a while, please take another look and see what you think.

If you have feedback on the new design I'd love to hear it. You can contact me via Settings -> Contact Us.

Thanks,
Joe

### 1/5 — Not intuitive

*2023-06-11, version 23.05.2*

The app is not intuitive and difficult to use.

### 1/5 — İyi metronom ancak..

*2023-04-28, version 23.03.2*

Pro yu alınca bile tüm özellikler için aylık para ödemek gerekiyor.

### 1/5 — Completa ma poco immediata

*2022-09-20, version 22.08.4*

### 1/5 — This must be graphically optimized for a larger screen

*2022-02-17, version 22.02.2*

I have an iPhone12 and small fingers. Yet when I try to stop the metronome and click on help so I can watch the videos to learn how to use it, it starts the metronome clicking again! I just wasted an hour I didn’t have fighting with what seems like click accuracy issues.

### 1/5 — Exceptional functionality…Way too complicated…

*2021-09-08, version 21.08.3*

There needs to be a simpler way to get up to speed with basic functionality…

### 1/5 — Nag, nag, nag.

*2017-03-26*

It's like we're married! How many nags does one app need. In-app messages...not enough. Push notifications...not enough. Pop ups as soon as the app opens...not enough. Need a login to get the things that the app works with...not enough. Pop up to ask if it should track my practice time...not enough. Popup to ask me to rate the app...not enough. There can always be more. Why, when I'm paying for an app, does it need so many things to get my attention? I just want a metronome. I guess two physical metronomes that just click would be less annoying than all of the nags. If you're going to nag to get a review...it's going to be a good review. My preferences are already set to not get any notifications...and yet, here I am talking about all of these nags. I wonder what it's like to have ADD and have this app. You're not likely to even get to practice.

**Developer response:** It sounds like you're very unhappy.

I realise there are quite a few notifications the first few times you use the app. They're there to explain various features and confirm whether or not you want to receive notifications. I know it can seem a bit much at first, but they stop - I promise.

I hope you've settled in with PolyNome and didn't file for divorce.

You can always contact me through the app if you have questions.

All the best,
Joe

### 2/5 — Two app versions

*2024-11-24*

The difference between the pro and the normal version could be made more obvious.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, and I’d like to clarify the difference between the two app versions to help clear up any confusion. The Pro version includes all features unlocked, while the basic version requires a subscription to access many of the advanced features. I hope you’re finding value in the features available.

That said, I wanted to share that a 2-star review can be very impactful to the app’s overall rating. If your intention was to reflect the app’s quality and experience, I completely respect that. However, if you simply wanted to get a message across, then email is a better choice. I’m always happy to help with questions or concerns—please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at support@polynome.net or directly through the app.

I’ve worked hard on PolyNome over the past 13 years to make it the best it can be, and I hope your experience with the app reflects that effort. If there’s anything I can do to improve your experience, I’d love to hear from you and help in any way I can.

Thanks again,
Joe

### 2/5 — Too Many. Too Difficult

*2024-03-04*

When I bought this app it was straight forward and easy to use. Now it's much more difficult and often does unwanted things that are difficult to remedy. Help is also poor and difficult to use as it uses internal jargon.

**Developer response:** Hi,
I'm just updating my response here to point out that I just released an update that makes the app MUCH easier to use and understand.
If you haven't tried it in a while, please take another look and see what you think.

If you have feedback on the new design I'd love to hear it. You can contact me via Settings -> Contact Us.

Thanks,
Joe

### 5/5 — Beste Metronom-App ever!!!

*2025-12-26*

Polynome-Bewertung:

This is by far the best metronome app currently available for iOS and truly worth every single cent!!!

This program is perfectly suited both for practicing even the most complex drummer-specific concepts and as a well-thought-out playlist manager as well as a practice log!

A truly outstanding app that is continuously developed and improved at regular intervals—unlike many other apps that end up being “improved for the worse.” This is clearly the work of a true professional who really understands the subject, comes from real-world practice, and therefore knows what truly matters and what real tools for drummers (and of course other instruments as well) should be.

This app honestly deserves at least 10 stars!

### 5/5 — Loving the App

*2025-04-13*

I’m beginner at drums and intermediate at guitar. I love the voice option. 1 e + a 2 e + a....etc! And it records all my practice times and you can print them out in PDF! Like a report! You can easily track your practices. How long. What you did or what bpm u worked on yesterday or last week! Everything is recorded with the Polynome. I just back it up and it’s stored! I got the $20. Well worth it. Even though I have free metronome apps. I haven’t even scratched the surface with this thing. Just what I was looking for!!! Only thing missing is a bigger PAUSE BUTTON!!! Thanks for the quick email replies Joe!!!!

**Developer response:** Thanks for the great review. I love hearing how you use it and I’m so pleased you find all the Practice Log features useful. I’ll have a think about the pause button.

### 5/5 — Amazing reading practice for bassist and more

*2025-03-15, version 25.01.1*

Amazing way to learn, read and hear polyrhythms to improve my reading for bass. Also, great rehabilitation/therapy for helping regain coordination all while learning to play the drums. I love that I can do rudimentary work on a snare and tapping my feet to an additional rhythm. Not doing polyrhythms like that yet...yet. But I’m gonna try and work my way there. Great playlists for rudiment work. Thanks.

### 5/5 — Simply the best!

*2024-09-05*

I started with Pyramide and switched to Polynome very early. Not only the program wich is made by a genious drummer, also the support by Joe is absolut outstanding. There is no need to spend time to look for other solutions. Polynome covers nearly all requirements. Tnx. for your great work.

**Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. Pyramid was a long time ago!!! Glad you’re still with me and enjoying the new features.
Best,
Joe

### 5/5 — Truly the ultimate metronome

*2024-08-18, version 24.08.1*

Speaking as a pianist and not a drummer, I discovered PolyNome when searching for apps to help with impossibly complex polyrhythms (3 against 4 against 5 against 7, all at once!) for a new piece I was set to premiere. Playing these polyrhythms accurately would have literally been impossible without such a tool. It turns out that PolyNome is capable of playing such complex rhythms and much more. The developer, Joe, was more than kind enough to help me get started, since this piece was a more advanced application of the app. PolyNome made it possible for me to learn the piece accurately in time for the premiere (after which I fell over brain-dead in exhaustion!). Since then it's proved itself as the ultimate metronome and a helpful practice tool. Enthusiastically recommended to any musician who needs to practice complex rhythms as well as simple ones.

### 5/5 — One of a Kind

*2024-06-24, version 24.06.2*

This app has many features that may seem intimidating at first, however, once you get used to them this app easily becomes one, if not the best metronome-type app out there. This app is worth every penny and I’m very happy with my purchase!

### 5/5 — Incredibly Useful for Drummers Running Click For Bands

*2024-05-26*

As a gigging drummer, I was searching for a highly customizable tool for click generation for live performance. After experimenting with a variety of apps (Tempo Advance, Pro Metronome), I discovered PolyNome Pro, and although I’m only scratching the surface of its features, I must say that this metronome app is one of a kind. In fact to call this a metronome app understates its capabilities because of the sequencer programming functions. Let me highlight just two features that make this app immediately useful for a drummer who is running a click track to send to band members in a live performance context. First, most metronome apps will only give you a handful of click tones that your bandmates will not find pleasing to have in their mix. Polynome offers an amazing library of sounds to use for click, from digital beeps to layers of percussion. You will find something palatable for everyone among these sounds. Second, Polynome enables you to create customizable voice count-ins for songs. For a band with all members on in-ear monitors, the ability to start a song with a “silent “count off is a game changer that will improve transitions between songs and professionalize the presentation of your stage show. All from a simple iphone or iPad Mini. I would encourage any drummer using click in a band to give Polynome a try before deploying bulkier and costlier setups.

**Developer response:** Thanks for such a great review. I’m so pleased you’re finding it useful in your band. I thoroughly road tested PolyNome on over a thousand gigs and added a lot of features related to playing in a band (since that’s what I was mainly using it for).
My band wasn’t on in ears so I never used it like this. I love to hear how people use the app.

### 5/5 — Simply awesome!

*2024-05-02*

This is the best time keeping tool I have ever come across. At first I considered a hardware metronome to free myself from Apple, but could not justify spending two to three times more for a battery operated device that loses my custom presets when the battery dies. I especially love the big numbers that I can point towards my bandmates during practice. That helps the whole group practice better.

I haven’t used all the features yet that come with Polynome Pro, but so far I am thrilled.

**Developer response:** Thanks for leaving a review.
Really glad you’re enjoying the big numbers, and I hope you have fun with the other features as you discover them!

### 5/5 — Love dis ting!

*2024-05-01*

Ever since I caught on to this app - it is my primary go to app on all my devices and computer!

Worth every penny

**Developer response:** Thank you! I’m glad to hear PolyNome has become your go-to app.

### 5/5 — Can you publish a Chinese version?

*2024-04-03*

thnak you!
