## Most critical reviews (8 lowest-rated)

### 3/5 — Good but quite basic

*2024-11-15*

It’s ok, just quite basic, allowing just two parts. It would be greatly improved if you could have additional parts to explore more complex polymetric structures.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the review. This app was written to give a simple introduction to 2-way polyrhythms.
I did contemplate adding more voices which would allow you to explore polymetric structures, but it would add a lot of complexity to the app and would be of interest to a very small niche.
My other app, PolyNome, allows you to create 3 way polyrhythms, or by utilising the sound lines under 2 rhythms you can create 4-way polymetric patterns. It also does much more than that.
If you’re interested, feel free to contact me at joe@polynome.net and I can demonstrate.
Best,
Joe

### 5/5 — Great tool!

*2025-03-27*

A great tool to explore x against y. Just switching between layouts can be helpful and using different (drum) sounds makes it less abstract. Good, a easy to use take pn the subject. Cheers R

### 5/5 — Fantastic polyrhythm training app

*2024-12-18, version 1.6.1*

This app can teach you how polyrhythms sound from both directions, whether it be the usual subdivisions, of 2, 3, 4, 6, 8 or 7/5 or 5/7 and all other options. Also useful for teaching in class situations using the clapping voices, or you could work with musical notes with groups. It partners very well with simply hands down the best metronome out there PolyNome pro, if you don’t buy the bundle you are missing a good opportunity!

### 5/5 — Intuitive

*2024-08-30*

Intuitive, simple, well laid out and lots of fun

### 5/5 — Super app for polyrhythms

*2024-08-20*

So much innovation packed into one app. Super tool to understand and master polyrhythms. I use different visualizations, isolate one rhythm against another, change sounds, and have so much fun using this app. Best way yet to crack polyrhythms.

### 5/5 — Such a great simple way to visualise polyrhythms

*2024-08-19, version 1.6.1*

I’d never really spent any time trying to learn polyrhythms until I tried this app, presuming it would be too difficult for me. Thanks to the way the app shows them and accompanies it with sounds made it super easy to tap along and start to understand how the rhythms relate to each other over time.

I’m now well on the way to being able to play some basic polyrhythms and I’m starting to feel how the patterns interact with each other intuitively. Such a great app!

### 5/5 — Practice game changer

*2024-08-13*

I’ve spent so much time just incorporating four over three and eight over 3 into my vocabulary. Every polyrhythm can offer years of exploration. Although I think it’s very important to recognize that pilyrhythms are not linear, it’s a really good tool to start and be able to recognize how the rhythms fit together. Then once you are comfortable, focus on them being harmonic, which means imperfect, and both rhythms must constantly correct to be true. This is an excellent tool for taking on more complex polyrhythms. If I’ve lost you in the harmonic philosophy, I recommend looking up Efrain Toro and studying his teaching. This tool will allow you to effortlessly understand polyrhythms on a linear level. It’s up to you to take the next step. This app is another awesome masterpiece by this programmer..

**Developer response:** Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I’m glad you like the app!

### 5/5 — The Perfect Solution You’ve Been Waiting For!

*2024-08-09*

Polyrhythm Explorer will take all the guesswork out of playing polyrhythms without having to know how to read music!
