## What is Pomes?

You live in the city. Your apartment is small. You can't stockpile every tool you'll ever need, and the people in your building are basically strangers.

Pomes flips that. The neighbors you already share a building with? They've got the stand mixer you need this weekend. A latte art technique they'll teach you. A wine night happening Wednesday they'd love you to come to.

== THREE THINGS YOU CAN DO ==

> Borrow
Browse what neighbors are offering - power drills, yoga mats, a steamer for that one shirt, a sewing machine, that random tool you only need twice a year. Tap to borrow. Pick up. Drop back. No money, no Venmo, no awkward.

> Help (offer + ask)

Things people offer:
- "I'll teach you my sourdough method"
- "Free latte art lesson - bring your own beans"
- "Lightroom presets + 30-min walkthrough"
- "Recovering perfectionist, I will gladly fold your laundry"
- "Cocktail night at mine, I'll show you 3 classics"
- "Recovering hairstylist - free trim if you're brave"

Things people ask for:
- "Anyone home Thursday to sign for my Sephora package?"
- "Watering my plants while I'm at a wedding upstate?"
- "Borrowing a blazer for a Friday interview?"
- "Need an oven for one batch of cookies - mine just died"
- "Walking my dog while I fly in late?"
- "Moving boxes Sunday - anyone free for an hour?"
- "Recommendations for a quiet brunch spot?"

> Meet
Show up to small things neighbors throw:
- Wine night Wednesdays
- Beer Friday on the rooftop
- Sunday morning run club
- Pizza-making Sunday
- Movie night in 4B
- Game night, sound bath, coffee morning - whatever this week's vibe is

== JUST YOUR BUILDING ==

Posts are visible only to the people in your apartment building. Not the neighborhood. Not strangers. The folks you ride the elevator with.

== VERIFIED RESIDENT - COMING SOON ==

Soon you'll be able to confirm you actually live in the building by completing 2 of:
- Work email verification
- GPS verification at home
- Utility bill upload

Until then, anyone can join - but only verified residents will earn the badge.

== WHY IT WORKS ==

City life = tight spaces, weird hours, big needs. Your building is full of people with extra stuff, useful skills, and Friday nights to fill. Pomes just makes them findable.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.14 — 2026-07-06

What's new in this update:
• Sign-up and password forms now clearly mark which fields are required
• Minor polish across onboarding

### 1.0.12 — 2026-05-26

What's new in this update:
• Onboarding refinements — join with a unique invite code shared by your community admin
• A friendly "All caught up" message on Notifications when there's nothing new to see
• Cleaner push notifications — no more duplicates after reinstalling
• Several stability and performance improvements across chat, borrow, and event flows

### 1.0.10 — 2026-05-15

What's new in 1.0.10:

• Borrow Requests — ask neighbors for things you need. Tap + in the Borrow tab to post a [Need] card. Neighbors who have the item tap I have this to start a chat.
• Unified Add menus on Borrow and Favor: one + button opens the options you want to create.
• Event creation: setting a start time auto-syncs the end time to start + 1 hour.
• Cards no longer hide behind the + button when the list is full.
• Plus the accumulated improvements since 1.0.2: comment editing, photo galleries, onboarding refinements, and dozens of small fixes.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-05-05

Performance & polish update.

Keyboard handling overhauled — every input across the app (events, favors, items, chat, profile editor, onboarding) now lifts above the keyboard so you can actually see what you're typing. Comment composer no longer floats above the keyboard with empty space below it.

Fixed a thermal/battery issue caused by unoptimized state management — the original monolithic state container was re-rendering more than necessary, which spiked device temperature on longer sessions. Refactored into domain-specific contexts (Notifications, Events, Borrow, Favors) so the app stays cooler and more responsive.

Early-tester fixes also included:
- Smoother event RSVPs that sync correctly across screens
- Comment likes are now visible to the original author
- Cleaner event creation defaults (date and time prefilled)
- More stable onboarding flow

Thanks for being an early neighbor.
