### 4/5 — Awesome but..

*2023-09-26*

Great app but I wish it supports dynamic island and live widget. It would be a perfect fit! Also instead of hand off, maybe sync all the timers via iCloud automatically? Wouldn’t mind paying for these features.

### 4/5 — The Best! But can be even better

*2023-04-25, version 8.7*

I have tried lots of pomodoro apps, but this one is the one I always come back to. It’s simple and easy to use yet packed with useful advanced features. Especially love the Shortcuts integration and the Lock Screen widget.
However I really miss a option to turn on some kind of white noise/ticking sound when running the timer to further divide the work and break periods. That would open the possibility to follow the pomodoro without the need to wait for the alarm or even see the timer. Just a simple metronom would make this application two times as useful!
But other than that, great job! It’s literally one of my favorite apps on the AppStore and it’s made my life much easier. The full version is 100% worth the price. Would recommend to everyone!

### 4/5 — Great but don’t like auto start

*2022-05-12*

Almost perfect, but I would prefer it if it would require me to press something to start the next break/work session rather than starting automatically and forcing me to press pause if I’m not ready. Would be a nice option to have.

### 4/5 — Please add manual start period

*2022-04-13, version 8.3*

Hi - this is a great little app, however you should have the ability to customise whether the next period (work or break) begins automatically or requires you to press a button to start it.

### 5/5 — Best Pomo Timer I’ve Found

*2021-09-21*

Really glad I found this app. I’ve tried other timers, both online and apps. I like this one the best. Main reason - it works. No glitches. Solid functionality. Five stars.

### 5/5 — Best Pomodoro Watch complication for productive work

*2021-09-13*

I’ve tried quite a few Pomodoro timer apps and this is my favorite because I can run everything from my apple watch. No need to update or open anything on the phone app while there’s a timer going. I set up the app on my phone once at the beginning and haven’t opened it since. My problem before: there are a ton of social media apps on my phone to distract me while I work. This app lets me focus completely on my work and reduces my dependence on my phone. It’s benefited my productivity immensely.

### 5/5 — POMMIE! JUST LOVE HOW SIMPLE IT IS!

*2021-07-25, version 7.1.1*

Guys honestly I am so hyped that this app is changing my life no more to procrastination I was recommended the pomodoro technique from a friend and then I found this app and was like it seems straight forward and since the day from downloading it I have gotten into a habit to use pomodoro for a lot of task now and I also reached out to the creator of the app and, grateful to his quick responses I was able to be assured to use this app to its maximum with its simplicity it’s important for even people with dsylexic like me! Many thanks to you!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2021-03-29, version 7.1.1*

Love the app. Although it would be cool to see data for the amount of time I use each timer profile for.

### 5/5 — Simple and effective

*2021-03-09*

If you just want something simple to get running that doesn’t harvest your data then I highly recommend this app.

### 4/5 — Pretty solid app

*2021-01-13, version 7.0*

Does what it says. Only wish it would tabulate number of pomodoros achieved in a day or some way to track it. Especially from the watch if possible.

### 5/5 — Very good

*2021-01-11*

It does what it is supposed to do simply. Very good Apple watch app. Love the complications

### 5/5 — I really like this

*2021-01-02*

Wish there were more styles and that it was easier to access the different profiles from inside the app.

Also to set how long you’re going to be working on the timer that shows all the hours of your day. Like maybe a dial so you can get a sense of how much you’re going to do.

Anyways unique app and I’m definitely going to use it as my go-to for work time.

(Update: Turns out you can access the profiles easily from inside the app. Hm nice.)

**Developer response:** Thanks for the positive review.

You can quickly switch timer profiles from the main timer view by tapping the area just above the play/pause button (where the timer profile name is shown). A menu will appear listing all your profiles. Tap one to change. You can also long press the app icon on the home screen to select one of the first four profiles. Or create Siri Shortcuts so you can say things like "Hey Siri, Pommie select reading" to switch.

It sounds like you have discovered that tapping the circular timer view switches to a mode that shows a summary of when the work and break periods will occur for the next 10 hours. Trying to make that view interactive, or adjust the work/break periods to fit a certain number of work periods in a particular number of hours would be an awful lot of work and I'm not sure it would be worth all the effort. Sorry!

### 5/5 — simple and consistant

*2020-12-29*

it keeps working unless u stop it. neither getting a call, playing music nor deleting from background gonna stop it.
design is simple and moderately visualistic.
totally worth for the price.
thank u devs, u saved several lives of ppl, including mine's.

### 5/5 — Nice & Simple

*2020-10-17*

I like this app. It’s simple and keeps me focused on the task at hand. I wish the time periods were a little more customizable, but I reached out to developer and got some hints to make the app work perfectly for me. Developer is very responsive to questions.

### 5/5 — Great little timer

*2020-09-29*

Very nice little app. Excellent watch complications. Speedy customer service (after updating WatchOS, my profiles didn’t show up on my watch. One small abs a few hours later, I knew that all i had to do was re-save the profiles to get them to resync)

### 5/5 — iOS Widget on Screen !

*2020-09-28*

That will be useful ,Thank you !

**Developer response:** The app does have an old style widget which shows the time remaining and has buttons to control the timer. I am working on a new iOS 14 style widget.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — iPad widget doesn’t work

*2024-11-02, version 8.7*

It just keeps running and there’s no inbuilt functionality in the widget, just takes you straight to the app.

### 1/5 — Won’t launch on watch

*2020-11-18, version 6.8*

I bought it to use on my Apple Watch, but after about a second of loading it returns me to the home screen.

### 1/5 — Not configurable enough

*2020-07-22, version 6.4.1*

Wasted 2.99 assuming the paid version offered more flexibility. It’s hardly any different from free version. There are only max 6 work periods. You can’t establish a start or stop to your workday/productivity period; it just cycles continuously for 12 hrs, paid or free. You cant create a mix of period sizes (e.g. 4x 25+5 then 15 minute break, then repeat, longer lunch period, etc).

### 1/5 — Terrible compatibility

*2020-06-17, version 6.3*

Terrible compatibility with Apple Watch and iMac. Be prepared to get frustrated and have your Pommie messed up with either two timers running unintentionally or inability to transfer from one device to the other. Waste of money

### 1/5 — Lack of Custom Options

*2016-12-24, version 1.9.1*

Choices for timer lengths and number of rounds are too limited. Consider having smaller durations for discreet tasks or opening these fields up to custom values instead of preset options.

### 2/5 — Limited customization

*2020-08-28, version 6.4.1*

The “long break” length can’t be shorter than 10 minutes and must be increments of 5 -10 minutes. Developer is unwilling to add more options.

### 2/5 — Drains the watch battery

*2020-03-19*

My watch died less than 8 hours after having a full charge for the first time after installing this app. This was the only third-party app on it, and I had no paused exercise running. After removing this app, my watch started lasting longer again. It’s a shame since I really like the app’s design and functionality...

**Developer response:** This is not a problem I have heard of from any other users before. It doesn’t happen to me on my watch. WatchOS should suspend apps that are not running in the foreground so I’m not sure how the app would be able to consume lots of power. If the timer is running and the app is in the foreground then the app will need to keep the display up to date. If the timer is not running the app should use almost zero power, even when open in the foreground.

### 2/5 — Far from perfect!!!

*2019-08-08*

I was using a focus up and was quite happy with it. However, it was not available on my Apple Watch. And a desktop application also was missing. So, I purchased this app and also the Mac OS app.

Multiple issues that are infuriating me are
- no handoff between phone, Apple Watch and Mac app
- no record or data of cycles done in the past or even in the current day
- Apple Watch keeps notifying me with alerts that are not in sync with my IPhone.

Developers of this app, please fix these issues ASAP!
I need data points and syncing of cycles.

**Developer response:** Pommie supports Handoff between iOS and Mac devices. However, in my testing the Mac doesn't always seem to show Handoff as being available *from* iOS (but the other way round always seems to work). I couldn't get Handoff from Watch to phone to work, so that's not supported (nor is it claimed to be). I have made a note to investigate again and see if I can fix that.

However, it is important to understand that Handoff is not the same as sync. Handoff is a transfer of state, not a synchronisation of state. Transferring the timer state will stop it running on the initiating device (if it was running) and the receiving device gets a copy of its state (including work/break lengths and timer profile configurations).

Actual sync is incredibly hard to do reliably. Transfers of information between devices is not real time and may not even happen at all. For a real-time app involving timers and notifications, any inconsistency in state would be very confusing (as you are experiencing because you think the app has a single timer spread across devices). Notifications will fire on multiple devices when they each have timers running. What if the Watch is out of range of the phone when you try and stop the timer? The phone's timer will continue running. It might be possible to have a backend server in the cloud coordinating this (but that adds enormous complexity and relies on an internet connection). There is at least one Pomodoro app which does this. But it has monthly subscriptions costing more than the one-off price of Pommie.

To avoid unpredictable behaviour, Pommie simply does not support sync between devices at all. The Watch app (as the App Store description states) has an "independent timer".

Finally, Pommie is a Pomodoro *timer*. It does not (and does not claim to) record counts of cycles or show historical graphs etc.

It sounds like Pommie is not suitable for your needs. Developers cannot issue refunds; you have to contact Apple. See, for example, https://www.imore.com/how-to-get-refund-itunes-app-store

### 3/5 — sound not work

*2022-02-16, version 8.3*

I set the permisson and notification, but sound not work.

### 3/5 — Can be a top Pomodoro App

*2020-09-10, version 6.4.1*

But missing two small and important features:
(1)Sound - there is no option to get clock ticking sound as the regular Pomodoro makes.
(2)Work session length - the customization is limited to 5, 10, 15... minutes. The regular Pomodoro allows more granularity (ex. Set the work session to 13m).

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Simple is good

*2026-03-03, version 8.7*

I love it. Only issue is that I wished the sound was more persistent, more like a timer.

### 5/5 — Simple and effective on Apple Watch or phone

*2025-08-01*

Great app that works. Buy it once and buy it for life. No data gathering, no subscriptions, basically the Paleo diet of Pomodoro timer apps.

Would be nice if the watch and phone kept the timer in realtime sync (maybe they do and I’m missing it), but if that is my worst problem, then really I have no problems.

### 5/5 — Apple Watch Notifications

*2025-07-26*

I’ve used numerous Pomodoro
Apps for years. I just got a new watch and having my wrist buzz after a 25 work sesh is literally all I need it for. Why don’t they all buzz my wrist? I don’t get it. This one appears to do that. Totally worth the small purchase price!

### 5/5 — My favorite pomodoro app

*2024-10-04, version 8.7*

This is definitely my favorite pomodoro app on my iPhone and Apple Watch. The interface is clean and it’s fully customizable. Love it!

### 5/5 — 5-Star Review for Pommie

*2023-12-28*

I've been using Pommie every single day, all day long, since I first downloaded it, and it's been a game-changer for my productivity. This app brilliantly employs a timer system that alternates focused work sessions with short breaks, culminating in a longer break after a set number of intervals. The design of Pommie is a standout feature - it's aesthetically pleasing, simplistic yet elegant, making it a joy to use. Its user-friendly interface ensures that you can dive right into maximizing your productivity without any hassle.

The simplicity of Pommie is its strongest suit, striking the perfect balance between functionality and minimalism. However, I'm also excited about the potential for new features in future updates. Despite its simplicity, Pommie has everything I need to stay focused and productive. I've been recommending it to everyone I know. In a nutshell, I absolutely love this app – it's a perfect blend of style and efficiency.

### 5/5 — Bester Pomodoro Timer

*2022-09-05*

Praktisches Widget, verschiedene Profile, konfigurierbare Alerts… Liebe die App 🥰

### 5/5 — Pomodoro watch app that ACTUALLY works

*2022-08-28*

Simple, clean, iPhone independent, does not stop counting randomly (like some other pomodoro app does), and solid looking watch widgets. It does the job, productivity improver.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2022-08-19*

Simple app with one functionality all I was asking for

### 5/5 — Love the app, please add this feature

*2022-02-22*

Love this, especially the Apple Watch interface, but one suggestion, please please please let us change the color of the different parts and status bars (work, short break, long break) on both the phone and Apple Watch. Please make this, and this’ll be the best pomodoro app ever.

### 5/5 — Clean, simple and feature rich

*2022-02-04*

Wonderful app that has all the features common in most Pomodoro apps. Also has Apple Watch and iPad apps for people on the apple ecosystem. Tried many apps and finally settled on this, one time purchase is definitely worth it. 👍🏻
