## What is PomoFocus?

PomoFocus is based off of the pomodoro technique developed by Francesco Cirillo in the 1980s.

This technique is widely used to help individuals stay focused on their tasks by breaking up their work with short breaks.

The technique is broken up as follows:

* 25 minutes of work (known as a pomodoro)
* 5 minute break
* Repeat

After 4 pomodoros, you will then take a 15 minute break, and start the cycle over again.

This app is designed to go through this cycle on repeat with the click of one button.

The catch is the app needs to remain open. The reasoning for this is to keep you focused on the task at hand and not play with your phone while working. If you leave the app or let your phone go to sleep, the timer will stop until you reopen the app.

I hope you see your production and focus increase with the use of this app!

### 3/5 — Great concept. Execution needs a little work.

*2022-11-07*

The simplicity of this app makes its potential great. No settings to configure. No way to skip ahead or go back. You start a timer and that means it’s time to get to work. You don’t get to the next part of the Pomo until you finish the first. And I love the fact that if you leave the app, the timer stops. Brilliant. This is one of the few scenarios where less is actually more! HOWEVER, the full screen (with audio) ads at the start of each session, and again when you’re done, are simply overbearing. Those are in addition to the banner ads at both the top and bottom of the screen. The annoyance is just enough to make the app unusable. It’s not just a bit much, it’s way too much. To the dev, I would suggest using only banner ads or maybe only doing full screen ads when stopping a timer. But not both and the one at the beginning of a pomo for sure is going to keep this from being what it could be. Cheers.

**Developer response:** Appreciate the feedback! And as I told the other reviewer, I was able to go into google ad settings to set a limit on the # of ads shown a given time period.

Was hoping that would stop the annoyance while still being ad enabled.

That does not seem to be the case.

Hopefully I get some free time here soon and I can remove the full screen ads as a whole.

Glad the purpose of the app appears to be working in your case!

Again. Thank you for the constructive feedback.

### 4/5 — Very simple but too many ads

*2021-11-30*

I really like the simple design (the whole screen is just a start button and a timer) but there’s an ad almost every single time you restart the timer which got kind of annoying.

If you like something simple, this is definitely for you!

**Developer response:** Really appreciate the review and apologies for taking so long to even see this comment. I do also apologize about the ads, this was my first app and really didn't know how much was too much. Let me see if I can bring that annoyance level down.
