The range of music available is also wide and varied. There are bugs to work out, however: if a voice recording goes over, say, four minutes, editing it becomes a major pain; if works extremely slowly and there are large delays in which the vocal track just does not appear. Also: it appears the transcriber does not work; it just hangs and works, but never finishes. ### 4/5 — AMAZING but needs money *2025-07-27, version 2.2.6* Hi. I’m a high school student and we had an assignment to create a podcast and my classmates recommend this app. SoI did and I did my whole podcast… only to realise that you need to upgrade aka pay monkey before you download it. But I somehow made it downloaded but when my class and teacher listened to it, it did sm weird where it Wass fine the first 10s and then while it was playing the audio from the start started to like replay. Idk if that makes sense but basically there was like 2 audio playing over each other. Yeah, Im pretty sure that the money thing was my fault but like there are no reviews that really talk about nor did the app info say anything about. I do wish there was a clearly defined FAQ or instructions on how to do certain things but nevertheless it worked. Thats an issue *2023-05-05, version 2.1.8* Made my account with apple id, then signed in wtih apple id. It got stuck on the sign in, wouldnt allow me to close the program. So I had to use task manager to kill the program in the first 30 seconds. After rebooting it things looked better, but it says my file type is not supported. I'm searching for a Mac-based podcast studio that doesn't require a Chrome browser, and has intuitive, modern features podcast producers need. Pompom ticked the M1 box, the transcription box, and I even like the pricing tier (though I'm not convinced about the credit system). Regardless, I downloaded the free version to try. Sadly, it's not for me. There are enough kinks that make it unintuitive as to be counterproductive to being more efficient. The right tools and features are there, yet they seem unfinished, or not the best versions of themselves. It has everything I need and it is super easy to edit content. I had different files (mp4 file and mp3 file) that needed to be added to my podcast and it combined the content without any issue. I was able to make it sound like I recorded it in one sitting and not on two different devices, which is really quite incredible. I will say, however, both files were recorded in the same room. I just used different devices because I wanted to try my mobile microphone with my phone as opposed to it being hooked up to my Mac or PC. Excellent developers. *2024-04-19, version 2.2.1* Pompom itself is a good app. I've used it for over a year now and it's undergone a lot of updates. Plenty of bugs have been squashed and its got better. The user interface has definitely improved. It is a lot easier to use now; adding in tracks, editing, truncating, adjusting the audio. Really intuitative. The real star of the app are the devs. I've found a few issues with the app, I've messaged them and I've always found them very quick to implement hot fixes in hours and seriously look into the issue. They are exceptional.
