## What is Pool & Hot Tub?

Test your water, type in the numbers, and get an answer you can actually hold: add 9.6 fl oz of muriatic acid. Not a color chart, not a lecture - an amount, sized to your exact pool.

Set up your pool or hot tub once with its real volume. From then on, every dose is computed for YOUR water, not a 10,000-gallon example on the back of a bottle.

WHAT IT DOES

- Log the readings your test kit gives you - free chlorine, pH, alkalinity, calcium hardness, stabilizer, salt. Skip what you didn't measure.
- See where each number sits against the right range for your setup. Chlorine targets follow your stabilizer level, the way pool chemistry actually works.
- Get chemical amounts in units you can measure out: fluid ounces, pounds and ounces, teaspoon-scale grams for hot tubs.
- pH doses come with the honest caveat - they're estimates, capped at a safe single dose, with a retest reminder built into the advice.
- Test reminders that count from your last logged test, not an arbitrary calendar. Miss a week and it nudges you tomorrow morning, not three cycles from now.
- Import your history from a CSV file - exports from other pool apps and spreadsheets work. Export everything back out anytime. Your log is a file you own.

HOT TUBS ARE NOT SMALL POOLS

A 350-gallon spa gets spoon-sized doses, its own target ranges, and stabilized-granule math. If you've been told your tub is too small to be supported, you're exactly who this app was built for.

### 1.3 — 2026-08-13

Water tests were only half of it.

Parts wear out on their own clock — filter cartridges, chlorine and mineral cartridges, salt cells, bulbs. Each one can now carry how often it needs changing, a reminder before it's due, and a dated record of every time it was changed.

Also fixed, and older than this feature: an overdue reminder was booked for tomorrow every time the app opened, so anyone who opened it each morning before 9 never received it at all.

### 1.2 — 2026-08-10

Pool Care is now a native iPad app, laid out for every orientation instead of running in iPhone compatibility mode.

Reminders are more reliable. A scheduling failure used to be discarded silently, which meant a "time to test the water" reminder could simply never arrive with nothing to show why. Failures are now caught and logged.

New: Pool Care Unlimited, an optional one-time purchase. The free version logs up to 50 water tests. Every reading you have already logged stays readable, editable and exportable - the limit only ever applies to adding new ones. Installed Pool Care before this update? You keep unlimited tests for free, for good.
