### 3/5 — Shake water off

*2020-08-15, version 1.3*

Although the AquaChek 7 bottle clearly states to not shake off the excess water from the strip, the water droplets will cause the camera to get a false reading. I recommend shaking off the water at around 12 seconds of the 15 min countdown so that you can capture the image at the right time.

### 4/5 — Save file

*2020-02-12, version 1.3*

Would be great to attach a name to the saved strip reading

### 4/5 — A suggestion

*2018-02-17, version 1.3*

Would be good to have a choice of type of pool: vinyl, fiberglass, gunite. So far I like it, how accurate it is , I'm not sure. Probably better than MY eye.

### 3/5 — What a huge potential

*2016-09-19, version 1.2*

If this incorporated a chemical chart that could be user defined for gallons it would be truly amazing! Even if it just did hot tubs! It would be worth $20 to me. In other words scan strip and have app tell me what chemical and how much to add..

### 3/5 — Doesn't always work for me

*2016-05-31, version 1.1*

Newest version crashes when I try to save a test.

I'm a pool tech and this app doesn't always work for me. When it does it's great.

However, I'd also like to see the aqua check 5 way strips added to this app.

### 4/5 — Great for colorblind people

*2016-05-05, version 1.0*

As someone who suffers from being color blind, I find this quite useful. I always hated when my parents would make it my "summer chore" to keep up with their pool, since they didn't understand color blindness. This would have also come in handy when I was taking care of my sisters fish tank while she was away on an internship. The interface is very simple and easy to use, I enjoy it.

### 4/5 — Good

*2016-05-04, version 1.0*

This app is pretty interesting, I didn't know that you can do that with an app. It works quite well and it is precise and also easy to use.

### 4/5 — Great

*2016-05-02, version 1.0*

Very easy to use. I can store my test and send my pool store a copy. It would be nice to have a notes or section that you could put in when the last water change or bromine float was filled.

### 4/5 — Interesting

*2016-05-01, version 1.0*

It’s really simple to use, the design looks great and it helps ease some of the concerns I have but, as I don’t yet have anything to compare the results with, I’m not sure how accurate the results are. It will be interesting to monitor the levels over a long period to help discover what situations can cause issues.

### 4/5 — Life simplified

*2016-04-29, version 1.0*

The app is pretty good though the interface is not as straight-forward but fairly simple to figure out. It could be a huge help for students as it seemed pretty accurate to me when I tested.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Tried it and failed

*2023-05-24*

I feel depending on the lighting , camera and phone you get different readings . They should make a color chart card and sell it for better accuracy so when you scan the strip with the color card in the back you get better results

### 1/5 — Very inaccurate results

*2018-09-27, version 1.3*

Primarily on the Cyanuric acid. No matter the color, it scans as brown or ‘0’.

### 1/5 — Not reliable

*2018-05-05, version 1.3*

I bought this app because I have a hard time deciding between 2 options on the test strips but this scanner read it way off and rescanning the same strip gave way different results.

### 1/5 — Don't buy

*2017-03-29, version 1.2*

The app would be great if you could actually save your results. I am very frustrated because when I bought this I looked at their updates and they showed to have fixed the problem that was stated in an earlier review of app crashing when you try to save it. They lied about fixing the problem and though it was only $2.99, you hate to get taken advantage of. This would be a great app if they would do their due diligence and fix the app before sending it out. Stay away from this app.

### 1/5 — Latest update on 6+ will not save

*2016-05-29, version 1.1*

Overly sensitive to daylight lighting conditions. Should have way to measure lighting adequacy. Most recent update--app blows up & closes when saving result.

### 1/5 — Doesn't match color chart on bottle.

*2016-05-20, version 1.0*

Took picture in sunlight and shade. Different result than color chart indicator on bottle.

### 2/5 — Not so accurate

*2020-05-22, version 1.3*

Cyanuric acid shows 0, even on retest, results differ each time.

### 2/5 — Hard to focus on time

*2017-04-24, version 1.3*

Maybe with practice it will get better. I will update after longer use.

### 2/5 — App Crashes on Save

*2016-07-31, version 1.2*

Just downloaded app. Easy to get reading - but completely crashes when you try to save. I was hoping to easily log my results - and ideally some treatment recommendations. How did this make it thru QA?

### 2/5 — Save test history broken, but otherwise good

*2016-06-02, version 1.1*

Being careful to line everything up correctly will net good results. Unfortunately with this release, the save test function causes the app to crash. Developer: Please fix as this app is a very novel idea.

Also, be wary to follow the test strip manufacturer guidelines. Letting it over or under sit will skew the results dramatically.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent!!!

*2019-06-22, version 1.3*

To make it work with AquaCheck7 strip you need to take the test strip out of the water colored side up with water staying on the strip and wait 15 seconds per instructions. After I started doing it right I completely agree with strip reading of the app. Even if you disagree, it gives the baseline. Super!

Add the reading visualization with charts and developer can start charging for it.

### 5/5 — I Love This App!

*2019-05-29, version 1.3*

I always have trouble identifying which color is closest to the one on the chart. The app quickly matches the color and gives you the appropriate results. You can also save the results which is very useful.

I wish I knew about this app sooner. It’s well worth the $1.99.

### 5/5 — Good App for my Hot Tub

*2019-03-30, version 1.3*

The developer fixed the save/crash issue about a year ago. I use this app all the time. Whatever accuracy issues it may have I blame on the test strips themselves—I always re-test my ph and sanitizer levels with a liquid kit and find that while the app is right on with the strip colors, the strip colors often vary from the liquid kit results. Perhaps when the strips get old they lose accuracy. But the app is great, much easier than trying to eyeball stuff from a color chart.

### 5/5 — life easier App

*2016-05-23, version 1.0*

Very Quite unique app which helps to track the chemical levels of pool. Really very useful and makes life easier in Summer time since my kids will spend lots of time in pools. So far it runs fine and hope the consistency maintains.

### 5/5 — Simple

*2016-05-09, version 1.0*

This pool test strip app is very simple and easy to use. The instructions are pretty clear.

### 5/5 — Great idea

*2016-05-07, version 1.0*

It's a really great idea, and makes it much easier to maintain your pool levels!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2016-05-03, version 1.0*

I found this app very helpful in determining the substances I had on my recipients. Very easy to use, just point the camera and the results show up. Excellent.

### 5/5 — accurate result

*2016-05-02, version 1.0*

Really its works perfect and accurately. Before download this app i did not believe now its works perfect and accurately. I don't know calculating method really amazing. Just align the strip and press the button to get the result quickly. Very simple to use and friendly user interface

### 5/5 — Magical

*2016-04-30, version 1.0*

Here is the magical effect of scanning. Using the camera of your device an app allows to provide a result of a test on a strip. I like to use the app.

### 5/5 — Thanks

*2016-04-29, version 1.0*

It is such an amazing app. It is really helpful for quick check your pool strip test colors, it is very important tool if you have a pool. I like the simple interface and the accurate results of it, which is more effective and faster than regular observation. Also you can save your results and browse it later to compare between whenever you want. I find this app essential for all friends who use pool test strips.
