A ideia é maravilhosa porque é muito fácil se perder nas capturas de tela. Entretanto, ele não criou as pools automáticas, como proposto. De qualquer forma, o prognóstico é bom porque fui de 2700 capturas de tela para pouco mais de 100, isso só de olhar a interface do app. Se as funções funcionarem corretamente, será melhor ainda.

It’s a cute app, pretty good for sorting photos into categories.
The thing is when you delete photos, you have to empty the trash for it to actually delete, and anytime I try, the app crashes

The app looks very good and I would love to use it. But I can’t delete the trash. If I try to open the trash the app shuts down and I have to reopen it again. Please update!

Great concept in theory, but according to the developer, your screenshots speaks more about you than other personal information; and they would like to capitalize on that by uploading all your screenshots and process on the cloud. That’s a no for me.

### 3/5 — Great Search. Performance Issues.

The search functionality works pretty well - I think if you try it you’d be impressed. However, the initial indexing caused my phone to overheat and the app crashed often while my screenshots were being indexed. So I knocked off a star for the performance-related issues. 

The app also crashed when I was zooming in on a screenshot etc. Also, when I trigger the AI functionality nothing happens. The app says my screenshots will be uploaded to a server to run inference on them, but I haven’t had any indication that this is actually happening within the app. 

So while the search functions pretty well, the app needs polishing to make the performance issues go away and to provide more context around whether and how the AI is enabled or not. 

For an app that’s this well funded, and with a big team behind it (as per the credits section inside the app), I expect a lot more. I’d give it 3.5 stars but that’s not an option.

Uploads all your data to the cloud?? It’s a huge app for a very simple concept and there wasn’t much added benefit over the photo app. Super laggy

When AI Features are on, we process some screenshots securely in the cloud to power search, intents, auto-categorization and more 🙌 If you're concerned about your data, email us at hey@pool.day with any questions, or delete your account anytime from Settings. I thought pools would be created by ai and I didnt have to sort my 18k screenshots myself? Would be cool to have automatically created pools with instant actions to i.e.: the open the recipe, open spotify, etc

**Developer response:** Check the latest update! Tap Create Pool on the Pools page for Auto Pools, and the actions under each screenshot take you straight back to the recipe or the Spotify track. Would love for you to try again with those 18k!

### 1/5 — Privacy Policy is a mess

After a recent update the trash problem is gone. So this is good. But after reading the privacy policy I deleted the app right away. I know it’s a common behavior but for what reason collecting the IP address, device model, language, time zone, device identifiers, session identifiers is necessary? Also that third party providers like Google process my content. No thank you!

Our privacy policy is perfectly transparent : )

- We never train on your data, and you can disable all AI features and analytics during onboarding or at any time in Settings if you want a fully local experience.

- Every screenshot is processed on-device. Only screenshots identified as articles or products may be sent to Gemini to recover the original link.

- I recommend you delete your account cleanly from settings, before deleting the app.

What does this even do (that I can’t do with an album in the Photos app)? Really don’t get it. It’s almost like a troll app.

hope this gets fixed because I’d really use this app a lot this app is really buggy as it doesn’t let you sign in unless you have a phone number or Apple ID and if you’re under 13, it doesn’t let you use an Apple account so you’re basically stuck with phone number and if you don’t have a phone number you can’t use this app and also that phone number is bugged

Read the privacy policy and think about what you’re doing, it’s not just your own privacy that you are giving up but anyone you associate with or take photos of or even strangers in the background of your photos. When an app is free ask yourself how they will pay for its development. Don’t do it.

**Developer response:** Thanks for raising this! It's the right question to ask about an app like Pool, and we'd rather answer it than have people guess.

On how we make money: we don't sell your data, and we won't. Pool's revenue model is purchases made inside the app, when you buy something you've saved. That's it.

The waitlist and mockups presented something that this app doesn’t even have. 
It’s a simple album app where you can import screenshots. The screenshots folder does that already.

I can’t even sign into this app. They have two different methods to sign in (by phone number or by Apple) and I received an error message that I was unable to sign in…from both methods.

Like a comment already mentioned: this app offers nothing new does auto-sort them which was pitched as the USP but you manually have to sort yourself. 🙃 Furthermore it uploads your library to the cloud for "screenshot analysis" when they sold it to work locally on device and in no way communicated this during onboarding. Follow the money and look at the investors. This is AI training data mining on private data with loose and hidden privacy policy.

**Developer response:** Hey, thanks for taking the time to write this out! A few things we'd love for you to see: Auto Pools are live, tap Create Pool on the Pools page and they're right there. Under each screenshot there are actions that pull back the original link of the post, article, song or recipe you saved, and if you scroll up you'll find similar screenshots surfaced automatically. You were on 2.0.1, so if none of that was easy to find, that's on us rather than you, and we've put a lot of work into it since.

On processing: We process everything on device while some screenshots are processed in the cloud to find those links to articles, social posts, products.

On AI training: We absolutely do not train on your data, you can see that reflected in our privacy policy.

Design is ok but… product? A kind of wrapper on top of my screenshots that randomly finds links from them. What’s the point of having a (700Mb.!!) screenshot app with poor capabilities on top of my existing screenshots?

**Developer response:** Hey there! Fair questions, and thanks for taking the time! Finding the original link is just the start. Pool also resurfaces time-sensitive things you screenshot (snap an event, get a reminder plus tickets before they sell out), and lets you search your screenshots by what's actually in them. That last part is most of the ~700MB you're seeing: it's the on-device AI model running search locally instead of shipping everything to the cloud. We're actively working on slimming it down. I’ve been lovin this app, but I would like to suggest some more features:
- it would be more useful if I can keep my screenshots ONLY in the pool app but not in my iPhone album. 
- hope there’s an option of auto deletion for the iPhone photo album if I delete my screenshots from the app.

I really love the concept and the UI of this app, but it's missing one crucial feature. Since the app is called Pool, I wish I could just "throw" my screenshots into the pool and leave them there, without needing to keep the original files in my iPhone's main gallery. Right now, if I delete a screenshot from my camera roll, it disappears from the app too. I want to use Pool to de-clutter my native gallery! Please add an independent storage option so the screenshots can live only inside the app.
