The interface is extremely intuitive and very customizable. The developer is very interactive and responds to emails regularly for bug reports and suggestions. I was managing my tub with a spreadsheet and a lot of guesswork, and this app has made things dead-on. The only thing I’d like to see is the addition of MPS as an oxidant, so it can be tracked, as I use it regularly. ### 5/5 — Best Pool Water Managing App *2021-11-17, version 2.11.1* The PoolWaterCalculator app has allowed me to take control of the water quality of my pool. The app is well organized and configurable to the chemicals you are using, it is full of information and provides a Dosing Guide for each chemical with instructions, chemical targets and ranges. The Analytical Graphs provide visual feedback of the chemistry levels of your pool. The CSI calculation brings everything together to have all chemicals balanced. The app is very well design and easy to used. I give it 5 starts although the Analytical Graphs are missing user defined upper and lower limits. ### 5/5 — The best app for TFP/BBB pool methods *2021-06-13, version 2.8.0* I’ve waited a couple of months to write this review, because I wanted to see how well it actually worked, not just what my initial impression was. I use the TFP/BBB method of pool maintenance, and I needed a new pool app after switching from Android to iOS. Although I do not mind supporting people’s endeavors, I do not care for the official TFP app, because I do not believe in the subscription-based model of that app, plus the interface is clunky. So I’ve downloaded and tried probably every pool app on the App Store. I thought the interface of this app was beautiful from the beginning, but there were some features I needed or wanted, which this app didn’t initially have. I was not expecting much, but I reached out to the developer, and let me tell you, Dominic has raised the bar on what is expected from developers of premium apps! He was already working on some of the features I was looking for, plus he took the time to implement a few other suggestions. I can’t say enough about how responsive he was, and how awesome this app has become. I can choose which parameters I want to track, customize which chemicals I want to use (including the strengths of the chemicals!), make notes for individual daily tests and make persistent notes for my pool’s profile. Also, the last tested levels are used for calculations, which is very important for chemicals which don’t get tested frequently. There are too many other features to list, but at the same time, you can customize the app to make it as simple as you want. The dosing recommendations are slightly different than the official TFP calculator, but the calculations are not significantly different from one another, and I can’t say which is “more correct”, but I’ve started using this app’s dosing recommendations exclusively and I cannot tell any difference in the real world effects of those differences. ### 5/5 — great! *2021-02-24* easy to use and configure. very slick graphs that are very functional. automatically provides suggestions to keep water balanced. everything you need to keep track of your tub. ### 5/5 — Easy to use App! *2020-06-25, version 2.1.0* By far the best pool calculator I’ve used!! ### 5/5 — Awesome App *2020-06-17, version 2.1.0* This app is super helpful and I easy to use. It explained all of the components of balancing my pool water and took me only a few moments. Much easier by doing all this stuff by hand. With the time I saved by using this app I've got more time to kick back with some daiquiris at my pool. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Not for large pools *2025-06-04, version 3.0.4* If there were a trial I would be $4.99 richer. The app is OK it has the ability to save multiple pools, which is nice. It can’t handle chemical levels that are within DHEC guidelines but outside of the apps range. Kinda makes it pointless. ### 1/5 — Misleading. *2023-08-03, version 2.22* I was told by the seller I’d the test strips that I merely had to hold the water dipped strip up to the app on my phone to get the reading. I see no way to accomplish that. ### 1/5 — GUI is awful; nowhere to enter test values? *2023-06-03, version 2.22* The gui windows are not going away after selecting a new menu item; they just overlap and seem to be inoperable. I don’t see where I can add my routine test results. Completely useless. I’m amazed because there were such rave reviews on this app. Would like a refund. Total waste. ### 2/5 — No metric measurement *2023-09-16, version 2.22* Pool volume is in gallons, no support for metric measurements 😞 ### 2/5 — Only good for USA *2017-06-22* Basic simple calculator, BUT only works in US gallons, and ounces etc. The rest of the World has moved to on, to metric!! You are promoting and selling this to those of us outside USA so why no metric option in the Settings. It would have been VERY easy to include. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback. The app now has the ability to toggle between metric/US units and is also available in French/Spanish. The developer is very slow to update this app or make changes. The app is OK for most things but frustrating for other things. It is what it is. Apartment complex pool care here 24000 gallons and this is VERY helpful! ### 4/5 — Great App, just missing one thing *2020-08-12, version 2.3.0* Really like this app for its transparency and simplicity to monitor the pool chemistry without being tied to a specific brand. The only thing missing, reason for the 4 starts instead of 5, is that similar to most pool maintenance apps it does not give the option for ionized pool owners to track the ionization level, or even to recognize the sanitation type. Still looking for an app that allows for that too. ### 5/5 — Great so far *2025-07-21, version 3.0.4* Love this app! Very clean and easy to use. Excited to track the pool data beyond a written spreadsheet. One thing I’ve found after a week that is bothering me: On the Chemistry Calculator section, you input your numbers and it tells you what chemicals need to be added to achieve your goals. At some random point after minimizing the app, it clears all of those numbers and the instructions. So I have to take a couple of screenshots each morning to make sure I don’t lose it. Thanks for that. ### 5/5 — Best Pool/Spa Chemistry App I’ve Found *2024-02-28* This is easily the best app I’ve found for tracking and correcting my spa’s chemistry. The customization is great for letting you only show the parameters that matter and dosing chemicals you have. I use Bromine in my spa and would love to see inputs for those using a 2 step approach, sodium bromide and an oxidizer (MPS, Dichlor, or bleach), for maintaining correct bromine levels. Tracking sodium bromide levels may be a little advanced, and may be not needed in some methods, but there are tests for it and would be great to track. That would bring this app to a 10/10 for me. The app is only available in dark mode which is perfect for those late night pool maintenance sessions! Seriously, the developer assures me a light mode update is in the works. Get this app, use this app, be happy with simplified maintenance. AND no in app purchases and no annoying pop up ads. I found it way to over complicated and not user friendly as it needs to be and this app was the answer. Hoping soon for an update to allow the setting of ranges of values to test against instead of just a number. Then those parameters that are in range will not show a need to adjust.
