### 4/5 — Great for home pool owners

*2025-07-12, version 7.2.0*

This app makes staying on top of maintenance and chemicals balance easy. The app is simple to use and even keeps track of swim time to help you know when to shock.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2025-07-07, version 7.1.0*

Does the math for me, and pool always looks and feel great

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2025-07-05, version 7.1.0*

Awesome app. Really makes it easier to keep on schedule with my pool maintenance.

### 5/5 — Great App for us Poolis

*2025-07-03*

I like the fact that this was designed, built and maintained by an experienced pool guy who's also a talented Software Engineer. What a great combination!

This app is very helpful to keep all your pool information in one spot. It might be helpful to be able to add your equipment- brand, model, S/N and service history and notes such as operational settings, etc.

The developer seeks customer input and continually upgrade the app.

**Developer response:** Hahaha, that's me in a nutshell.

I was wanting to add something around equipment that's more separate from adding chemicals. Would be great to crowd source info so that people can have shared information for their equipment. Thanks for the inspiration!

### 5/5 — So simple to keep balanced now

*2025-06-28, version 7.1.0*

I’ve tried so many apps, this one is hands down the most user friendly and accurate. Love the reminders and calculations of how much to add of each product when needed.

### 5/5 — Well designed, easy to use.

*2025-06-28, version 7.1.0*

Great app. As much detail as you need but not confusing.

### 5/5 — My 1st 24’ Pool + Pooli = No Stress

*2025-06-24*

I’m new to the entire experience of owning a pool and, along with the water tests from the local pool supply store, this app has been an amazing resource and record keeper for us. I’m able to customize the exact strength and type of chemicals I add and even the number/type of pads (3 or 5) on my test strips. The task reminders are simple and not overwhelming. You can delay them a few days, delete, or confirm. TBH, this app has made the stress and confusion of maintaining a pool for the first time - a non issue. A legit 5*s!
U🤘🏽

**Developer response:** Dang! Love to hear reviews like this and you've found Pooli helpful and useful in your life!!! Keep on rocking, much love!

### 5/5 — Does math & impact

*2025-06-05*

Pooli does the math of what to add to your pool and shows the corresponding impact on the other chemical factors. It has helped me on several occasions to make changes other than just the obvious one which helped bring everything into balance quicker.

The reminder function is also helpful. It would be cool if it synched with my Apple Calendar or Reminders apps.

### 5/5 — Great app, responsive developers

*2025-06-01, version 6.9.1*

New inground pool owner, I’ve been using Pooli for about a year, while taking paper notes also. This app is the best I’ve tried, developers have been responsive to requests. Calculations seem to be accurate. I was new to pool care and it’s chemistry a year ago. Expert now; I put my full confidence in the Pooli app.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2025-05-04, version 6.8.1*

Can’t believe took me this long to find this app. It’s amazing; will help you understand and have better control of your own pool’s maintenance

### 5/5 — Pool and Spa Tester

*2025-05-03, version 6.8.1*

This is a really neat app to stay on top of chemicals. Lets you add chemicals to inventory and when u add the suggested dosages it reduces them. So it makes sure you don’t run out and know exactly what to add and what to expect

### 5/5 — Super Helpful App

*2025-04-25, version 6.8.0*

Very helpful with getting your water chemistry correct.

### 5/5 — Impressive

*2025-04-22*

I don’t usually write reviews but I’m so impressed by this app I felt compelled to. This is one of the best apps I’ve ever used, which is saying something considering what a niche market this app serves. It’s so customizable and the developers have done a great job making a comprehensive solution to pool care. I’m a pretty detail oriented person, and this app continues to impress.

### 5/5 — 3rd year success!

*2025-04-19, version 6.8.0*

Great resource to maintain our pool. Consistent results and great community support.

### 5/5 — Great app, responsive developers

*2025-04-09*

New inground pool owner, I’ve been using Pooli for about a year, while taking paper notes also. This app is the best I’ve tried, developers have been responsive to requests. Calculations seem to be accurate. I was new to pool care and it’s chemistry a year ago. Expert now; I put my full confidence in the Pooli app.

### 5/5 — Handy App

*2025-04-05, version 6.7.0*

For a first time pool owner/maintainer, this app is great. I matched my test strips and it keeps me in line both chemically and maintenance wise.

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2025-03-15, version 6.5.1*

Helps me keep track of things and importantly tells me how much of what I need to balance my pool. Nice not having to crunch the numbers!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bad advice

*2026-04-26, version 7.6.0*

Total chlorine 6ppm & free chlorine 1ppm means it’s time to add chlorine to reach 50ppm to swim in 24 hours or use potassium monopersulfate to swim in 15-30 minutes. App suggests draining the water and replacing with tap water. This will not work you’ll still have too much combine chlorine. App is a cool idea and probably reads strips correctly but advice is similarly useless just like the national pool store offers people.

### 1/5 — Not intuitive

*2025-08-28, version 7.4.0*

This app has some good features but using them is frustrating. For example, if I scan in a product, the volume of the bottle becomes the dosage. Then, changing the dosage changes the inventory. There’s probably something that I’m missing but I’m very good tech-wise and thus my criticism of how this app is not intuitive to use. I think its design could use significant improvements.

### 1/5 — Jokers

*2025-08-17, version 7.3.0*

Go through everything setting up then told to pay ridiculous amount monthly.
It’s a pool test kit, come on 🙄

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2024-08-02*

I like that it would tell you what to add if the chemistry was off in your pool. But if you do multiple scans, you will get huge swings in between each scan never consistent at all. One minute you will be adding 2 pounds of baking soda, and the next scan will tell you not to.. I had two months left of my membership and did not need it to renew because of wintertime coming up so I canceled it. Now I lost lost the last two months that I paid for.
You’re better off calculating what needs to be added by yourself. Just compare the strip to the bottle and you will have much better accuracy.
The app is very clunky and confusing at times. Adding stuff to your inventory doesn’t work very well. I was told to fix certain issues with chemicals that I don’t have before it tells me to use what is in my inventory.

**Developer response:** Huh, I’d love to chat as I’m not sure about your claims, for instance your sub ends at the end of your payment period, so you still have access to premium for those 2 months. Also, I def have some great tips to make the scanning more consistent and how to help use the app for dosing and making your pool care easier and more organized. Also, I’d like to know what specifically didn’t work or was clunky, and what I can do to make it better! Thanks for the feedback and we’re always here to help, please reach out to support@pooli.app!

### 1/5 — $13/month is insane.

*2023-08-23, version 4.0.1*

I’ll save you some time. It’s $13/month to have anything useful. Laughable.

### 1/5 — Too good to be true

*2023-08-07, version 3.12.1*

App seemed good but test strips are bad. Subscription expired and scan feature disabled but it didn’t matter because strips aren’t accurate. I would not purchase again

### 1/5 — Waste of Money

*2021-07-06, version 2.1.3*

Wasted money on test strips that they used to advertise and let you scan in the app that now you have to pay a subscription cost to utilize. Now my strips are useless and going in the trash, typical bait & switch- deleting the app, thanks a lot!

### 1/5 — Scan doesn’t work

*2021-04-26, version 2.0.4*

Got the app to scan test strips and the scan function doesn’t work. When you try to scan you get hit with an advertisement to buy their test strips and that’s it, no camera.

### 1/5 — Bait and switch

*2021-03-26*

Went researching pool apps. Passed on some others that had reoccurring fees, then decided on Pooli. Wasn’t anything in the app or the site that led me to believe there was a monthly fee. I was excited to scan strips. But first: scrap my old strips and buy the new ones. Not the worst way to make money on an app, so I bought them.

What a chuckle I got when I finally got to try the scanner. That’s when I finally saw the monthly fee. $9.99 for access to a color reading api. That’s quite the fee. I was so shocked I went looking on the site. How did I miss this? No where on your site did it mention a monthly fee. It mentions pool club, but even a cursory glance at that didn’t mention money.

Going to go research more pools apps now. I really hope they aren’t all as shady as this one.

**Developer response:** Yes, it's true the scanner is now a premium feature under the subscription plan that comes with test strips, color correct card, 5% off the store, graphing and analysis. It's for people that really are trying to get the best time and money savings.

You still have access to the plethora of free tools and utility in the app - the best free experience for any pool care app we think. Saving any number of pools, easily tracking water test, chemical additions, inventory, reminders, maintenance, you name it! And there's plenty more to come, we hope you give it another try!

### 1/5 — Click bait to buy things

*2021-03-01, version 2.0.3*

This app makes you buy the strips, then the light ID marker, and will charge you $9.99 a month after 7 free days. It is not a free app to use with the Aqua Chek7 strips for free, after 7 days it’s costly. Don’t get duped by the “free pool analysis...”

### 5/5 — Great software to manage my swim spa

*2026-07-17*

Software helps you do as little or as much tracking as you want.

I’m able to enter the water testing variables I want to track and set a minimum and maximum range for each. Pooli will calculate the amount of the chemicals I use, for me to add to the water.

If I want, I can enter the inventory of how much of each chemical I have on hand. As I add it to the water, it reduces my inventory by the same amount, and will tell me when I need to order more.

So it helps me manage the water quality with simple dose recommendations (I can use them, change them, or delete or delay them).

It helps me keep track of my chemical inventory, and based upon how much I average using, gives me a 2-3 week heads up that I need to order more! Based upon my usage!

If, I enter how much my chemicals cost, it’ll even give me an estimate of my average monthly expenses for them.

I can enter periodic reminders… Shock the water, rinse the filters, deep clean the filters, change the UV Bulb annually, etc. so I don’t forget those infrequent details.

As much, or as little as you want. Over the last two years, I’ve tried at least 5 other software programs. This one, to me, is the best combination of capabilities, developer adding new functionality, and ease of use.

You can use it for free. I decided to pay the subscription to get the added functionality, and, to reward the developers to encourage them to continue with their upgrades to Pooli.

Try it, I’m glad I did.

### 5/5 — Rookie pool owner

*2026-07-03*

Before using Pooli I was a rookie and that’s putting it lightly , I had constant problems with algae, chemical imbalance, and cloudy water ! Now since I have found Pooli my pool stays balanced and clear hardly having any issues .. but when 1 should arise I just go on my app and Pooli helps me get the problem u see control .. I have used a couple different apps in the past .but all seem to want to charge after a week of use .. Pooli gives you the option to be a member or just a user ! I highly recommend Pooli ! My son has been a pool tech for 13 years and now he uses Pooli
To track and document his pool routes

### 5/5 — Feature rich and flexible

*2026-05-19*

This is the most complete and flexible pool / spa management app I have tried to date. It allows customization of test parameters on a per pool / spa basis, tracks product inventory, tracks water additions to help understand evaporation loss versus potential leaks, sends reminders per a schedule that you can configure, and more. For subscribers it also has added features like an AI agent that reviews your logged results as well as your chemical additions. Based on the weather forecast it then predicts and suggests actions that may be needed over the coming week. Best of all the developers are open to feedback regarding bug fixes or features. One does not need to use the Pooli test strips in order to leverage this app. I use a Taylor K-2006 C SALT kit and enter my results manually. But I still subscribe for the added features.

I’m sure the developer will incorporate AI going forward.
